Theology is the critical study of concepts of God and of the nature of religious ideas. It is taught as an academic discipline, typically in universities, seminaries and schools of divinity.
Augustine of Hippo defined the Latin equivalent, theologia, as "reasoning or discussion concerning the Deity";Richard Hooker defined "theology" in English as "the science of things divine". The term can, however, be used for a variety of different disciplines or fields of study. Theologians use various forms of analysis and argument (philosophical, ethnographic, historical, spiritual and others) to help understand, explain, test, critique, defend or promote any of myriad religious topics. Theology might be undertaken to help the theologian:
Robert Charles Sproul (born February 13, 1939) is an American theologian, author, and pastor. He is the founder and chairman of Ligonier Ministries (named after the Ligonier Valley just outside Pittsburgh, where the ministry started as a study center for college and seminary students) and can be heard daily on the Renewing Your Mind radio broadcast in the United States and internationally. "Renewing Your Mind with Dr. R.C. Sproul" is also broadcast on Sirius and XM satellite radio. In late July 2012, a new Christian internet radio station called RefNet (Reformation Network) was also announced by Ligonier Ministries in an effort to reach "as many people as possible" where Internet access is available.
Ligonier Ministries hosts several theological conferences each year, including the main conference held each year in Orlando, FL, at which Sproul is one of the primary speakers.
Sproul was a passenger on the Amtrak train that derailed in the 1993 Big Bayou Canot train wreck and often gives firsthand accounts of the story.

Lesson 1 focuses on a basic orientation toward biblical theology, the development of biblical theology through the centuries, and the interconnections between history and revelation. Faithful Christians have always recognized the importance of progress in biblical history, especially as it relates to humanity's fall into sin and to God's redemptive work. Biblical theology is a specialized discipline that studies this progress by tracing the development of theological ideas between historical epochs. Used rightly, this is a helpful tool for interpreting and applying the Bible. Course Goals: Explain the history and justification of biblical theology. Describe the method and uses of biblical theology. Learn more at: http://www.thirdmill.org

Liberal theology is one of the leading causes of the "great falling away" spoken of in 2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Christopher West delivers a profound session on the reality, meaning and significance of sexuality and our human bodies. This was a definite highlight of our Hope 2015 Conference. Enjoy! Christopher West is a proud husband and father of five. His global lecturing, best-selling books, and multiple audio and video programs have made him the world's most recognized teacher of John Paul II's "Theology of the Body" --a bold, biblical vision of love and sexuality that takes us to the "cor" of what it means to be human. As Founder and President of The Cor Project, he leads an international outreach devoted to helping others. To read further, we recommend Christopher's book, Fill These Hearts: God, Sex, and the Universal Longing, which can be found at thecorproject.org/ and other online book si...
The contemporary church seems riven with controversies, particularly about sexuality, celibacy, and the role of women. Drawing deeply on the Bible, the early Church Fathers and the writings of Freud and Jung, Sarah Coakley argues that desire can be freed from associations of promiscuity and disorder, and we can forge a new positive, ascetical vision, founded in the disciplines of prayer and attention. Chaired by the Revd Canon Mark Oakley, Chancellor of St Paul's Cathedral.
Watch this fantastic discussion with Douglas Wilson, Jeff Durbin, Darren Doane, and Luke Pierson. His hands
His heart are all I need
I hear the broken-hearted
I hear the friendless
I was there for every prayer, and I'm never stopping
I will never leave you all alone
Quit doubting me
Because you can't see
My hands working in your life
If you knew my heart
