華語樂壇搖滾之光 動力火車繼續發光
睽違三年牽掛樂迷 首波思戀主打「艾琳娜」高唱：我回來啦！
動力火車出道十五年，從兩個默默無名的PUB駐唱歌手，到現在成為華語樂壇搖滾團體的不朽神話，每發行專輯必定創造經典金曲。從「無情的情書」、「明天的明天的明天」、「背叛情歌」、「忠孝東路走九遍」的搖滾心碎情歌，到「當」、「彩虹」、「繼續轉動」的鼓舞溫暖人心之作，首首膾炙人口、街知巷聞，只要有華人的地方，一定都聽過動力火車！
隨著2009年發行「繼續轉動」專輯後，同年11月首演的「超越顛峰 繼續轉動」演唱會至今仍在受邀巡迴演出中，期間兩人還首度跨足電影圈獻出大螢幕處女作。然而睽違了三年多沒有推出音樂作品，動力火車並沒有忘記樂迷們的呼喚，終於在2013年三月底發行最新專輯「光」，而首波曝光的主打歌艾琳娜,唱片公司也特別趁正式版MV曝光以前，別具巧思地利用新專輯前置作業進行期間的保姆車上的行車紀錄器所錄下的畫面，製作了一支特別的暖身歌詞版MV。 讓歌迷透過這樣的工作紀錄感受動力火車一路不停的音樂軌跡並熱切期待動力火車的再出發 !

The Power Station was a 1980s supergroup made up of singer Robert Palmer, former Chic drummer Tony Thompson, and Duran Duran members John Taylor (bass) and Andy Taylor (guitar). Bernard Edwards, also of Chic, was involved on the studio side as recording producer and for a short time also functioned as The Power Station's manager. Edwards also replaced John Taylor on bass for the recording of the supergroup's follow-up album. The band was formed in New York City late in 1984 during a break in Duran Duran's schedule that became a lengthy hiatus. The Power Station was named after The Power Station recording studio where their album was conceived and recorded.
On July 23, Duran Duran's charity concert at Villa Park 1983 took place in aid of Mencap. Duran Duran had been known to be huge fans of Robert Palmer so he was invited to take part.
After Duran Duran's third album Seven and the Ragged Tiger, the members of the band went on a planned short hiatus, going into two projects. One of these was the band Arcadia, which maintained the melodic and atmospheric aspects of Duran Duran's previous recordings. The other was The Power Station, in which John and Andy Taylor worked with Palmer, Thompson, and Edwards to create a rhythmic, harder rock, funk sound. Roger Taylor was mainly the drummer for Arcadia but also contributed percussion to The Power Station.
The group began as something of a whim — it was a one-time gathering of friends to provide backing to model and would-be singer Bebe Buell who wanted to record a cover of the 1972 T. Rex song "Get It On (Bang a Gong)". Both John and Andy Taylor were eager to branch out from the synthesizer-heavy pop of Duran Duran and play some Led Zeppelin-flavored rock and roll. The participation of their idols from Chic lent the project a horn-inflected funk vibe that meshed surprisingly well with the crunching guitars and booming drums.[1]
Soon the project evolved into the idea of a revolving supergroup; a tentative name for the band was Big Brother. The original plan for the one-album project was for the three musicians (Taylor, Taylor and Thompson) to provide musical continuity to an album full of material, with a different singer performing on each track. Those who were approached included Mick Jagger, Billy Idol, Mars Williams, and Richard Butler (of The Psychedelic Furs), and Mick Ronson.[2]
The group then invited Robert Palmer to record vocals for the track "Communication". When he heard that they had recorded demos for "Get It On (Bang a Gong)", he asked to try out vocals on that song as well. Before long, they had decided to record the entire album with Palmer. The group was quickly signed with Capitol Records.

Power station
A power station (also referred to as a generating station, power plant, powerhouse, or generating plant) is an industrial facility for the generation of electric power. Most power stations contain one or more generators, a rotating machine that converts mechanical power into electrical power. The relative motion between a magnetic field and a conductor creates an electrical current. The energy source harnessed to turn the generator varies widely. Most power stations in the world burn fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas to generate electricity. Others use nuclear power, but there is an increasing use of cleaner renewable sources such as solar, wind, wave and hydroelectric.
History
The world's first power station was designed and built by Lord Armstrong at Cragside, England in 1868. Water from one of the lakes was used to power Siemens dynamos. The electricity supplied power to lights, heating, produced hot water, ran an elevator as well as labor-saving devices and farm buildings.

The Powerstation - Some Like It Hot (1985)
The Power Station was a 1980s supergroup made up of singer Robert Palmer, former Chic drummer Tony Thompson, and Duran Duran members John Taylor (bass) and Andy Taylor (guitar). Bernard Edwards, also of Chic, was involved on the studio side as recording producer and for a short time also functioned as The Power Station's manager. Edwards also replaced John Taylor on bass for the recording of the supergroup's follow-up album. The band was formed in New York City late in 1984 during a break in Duran Duran's schedule that became a lengthy hiatus. The Power Station was named after The Power Station recording studio where their album was conceived and recorded. 睽違三年牽掛樂迷 首波思戀主打「艾琳娜」高唱：我回來啦！
動力火車出道十五年，從兩個默默無名的PUB駐唱歌手，到現在成為華語樂壇搖滾團體的不朽神話，每發行專輯必定創造經典金曲。從「無情的情書」、「明天的明天的明天」、「背叛情歌」、「忠孝東路走九遍」的搖滾心碎情歌，到「當」、「彩虹」、「繼續轉動」的鼓舞溫暖人心之作，首首膾炙人口、街知巷聞，只要有華人的地方，一定都聽過動力火車！
隨著2009年發行「繼續轉動」專輯後，同年11月首演的「超越顛峰 繼續轉動」演唱會至今仍在受邀巡迴演出中，期間兩人還首度跨足電影圈獻出大螢幕處女作。然而睽違了三年多沒有推出音樂作品，動力火車並沒有忘記樂迷們的呼喚，終於在2013年三月底發行最新專輯「光」，而首波曝光的主打歌艾琳娜,唱片公司也特別趁正式版MV曝光以前，別具巧思地利用新專輯前置作業進行期間的保姆車上的行車紀錄器所錄下的畫面，製作了一支特別的暖身歌詞版MV。 讓歌迷透過這樣的工作紀錄感受動力火車一路不停的音樂軌跡並熱切期待動力火車的再出發 !

睽違三年牽掛樂迷 首波思戀主打「艾琳娜」高唱：我回來啦！
動力火車出道十五年，從兩個默默無名的PUB駐唱歌手，到現在成為華語樂壇搖滾團體的不朽神話，每發行專輯必定創造經典金曲。從「無情的情書」、「明天的明天的明天」、「背叛情歌」、「忠孝東路走九遍」的搖滾心碎情歌，到「當」、「彩虹」、「繼續轉動」的鼓舞溫暖人心之作，首首膾炙人口、街知巷聞，只要有華人的地方，一定都聽過動力火車！
隨著2009年發行「繼續轉動」專輯後，同年11月首演的「超越顛峰 繼續轉動」演唱會至今仍在受邀巡迴演出中，期間兩人還首度跨足電影圈獻出大螢幕處女作。然而睽違了三年多沒有推出音樂作品，動力火車並沒有忘記樂迷們的呼喚，終於在2013年三月底發行最新專輯「光」，而首波曝光的主打歌艾琳娜,唱片公司也特別趁正式版MV曝光以前，別具巧思地利用新專輯前置作業進行期間的保姆車上的行車紀錄器所錄下的畫面，製作了一支特別的暖身歌詞版MV。 讓歌迷透過這樣的工作紀錄感受動力火車一路不停的音樂軌跡並熱切期待動力火車的再出發 !

The Power Station was a 1980s supergroup made up of singer Robert Palmer, former Chic drummer Tony Thompson, and Duran Duran members John Taylor (bass) and Andy Taylor (guitar). Bernard Edwards, also of Chic, was involved on the studio side as recording producer and for a short time also functioned as The Power Station's manager. Edwards also replaced John Taylor on bass for the recording of the supergroup's follow-up album. The band was formed in New York City late in 1984 during a break in Duran Duran's schedule that became a lengthy hiatus. The Power Station was named after The Power Station recording studio where their album was conceived and recorded.
On July 23, Duran Duran's charity concert at Villa Park 1983 took place in aid of Mencap. Duran Duran had been known to be huge fans of Robert Palmer so he was invited to take part.
After Duran Duran's third album Seven and the Ragged Tiger, the members of the band went on a planned short hiatus, going into two projects. One of these was the band Arcadia, which maintained the melodic and atmospheric aspects of Duran Duran's previous recordings. The other was The Power Station, in which John and Andy Taylor worked with Palmer, Thompson, and Edwards to create a rhythmic, harder rock, funk sound. Roger Taylor was mainly the drummer for Arcadia but also contributed percussion to The Power Station.
The group began as something of a whim — it was a one-time gathering of friends to provide backing to model and would-be singer Bebe Buell who wanted to record a cover of the 1972 T. Rex song "Get It On (Bang a Gong)". Both John and Andy Taylor were eager to branch out from the synthesizer-heavy pop of Duran Duran and play some Led Zeppelin-flavored rock and roll. The participation of their idols from Chic lent the project a horn-inflected funk vibe that meshed surprisingly well with the crunching guitars and booming drums.[1]
Soon the project evolved into the idea of a revolving supergroup; a tentative name for the band was Big Brother. The original plan for the one-album project was for the three musicians (Taylor, Taylor and Thompson) to provide musical continuity to an album full of material, with a different singer performing on each track. Those who were approached included Mick Jagger, Billy Idol, Mars Williams, and Richard Butler (of The Psychedelic Furs), and Mick Ronson.[2]
The group then invited Robert Palmer to record vocals for the track "Communication". When he heard that they had recorded demos for "Get It On (Bang a Gong)", he asked to try out vocals on that song as well. Before long, they had decided to record the entire album with Palmer. The group was quickly signed with Capitol Records.

Streetwize SWPP5 5-in-1 Power Station jump starter review
Another jump starter review. What looks at first to be a half-decent jump starter turns out to be another piece of crap with a fake battery, so as usual I've responded with a teardown exposé. Looking on Google, even the battery manufacturers can't make their minds up whether the SJ12V17AH battery is 5.7Kg, 5.25Kg or 5.2Kg. Obviously a tricky question to answer when you're lying through your teeth - the battery's 4Kg, about two thirds of the weight of a genuine 17Ah battery. To think people pay £80-£100 for these things! The National Interconnected System (SIN) comprises the electricity companies in the South, South-East, Center-West, North-East and part of the North region. Only 3.4% of the country's electricity production is located outside the SIN, in small isolated systems located mainly in the Amazonian region.
Generation capacity in Brazil is dominated by hydroelectric plants,[2] which account for 77% of total installed capacity,[4] with 24 plants above 1,000 MW. About 88 percent of the electricity fed into the national grid is estimated to come from hydroelectric generation, with over 25% coming from a single hydropower plant, the massive 14 GW Itaipu dam facility, located between Brazil and Paraguay on the Paraná River.[2] Natural gas generation is second in importance, representing about 10% of total capacity,[4] close to the 12% goal for 2010 established in 1993 by the Ministry of Energy and Mines.[5]
This reliance on abundant hydroelectric resources allegedly reduces the overall generation costs. However, this large dependence on hydropower makes the country especially vulnerable to supply shortages in low-rainfall years (See The 2001-2002 crisis below).

Looking on Google, even the battery manufacturers can't make their minds up whether the SJ12V17AH battery is 5.7Kg, 5.25Kg or 5.2Kg. Obviously a tricky question to answer when you're lying through your teeth - the battery's 4Kg, about two thirds of the weight of a genuine 17Ah battery.
To think people pay £80-£100 for these things!

The first gas turbine of the First Phase of the project (500MW), which consisted of 4 units, was operated on 23rd of May 2008. In 2011 the second Phase of the project (500MW) started by adding another 4 units, thus doubling the number of gas turbines to eight units and bringing the total capacity to 1000MW.
As the Third Phase of the project, MGH started converting EGPS into a combined cycle which added 500MW to plant capacity. The ground-breaking ceremony for the Combined Cycle project took place on 5th July 2012.
The project utilizes the gas turbine exhaust heat emissions to produce steam in Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG), which is in turn used to generate electricity in two steam turbines. This process increases the production capacity without using extra fuel. It also reduces the amount of CO2 emissions and hence saves the environment of combustion emissions.
The electricity produced is exported via a dozen of high voltage lines connected to the national grid in kurdistan region.Now after the completion of the combined cycle,the plant capacity is raised to 1500MW..
EGPS became the first combined cycle power plant in Iraq and the biggest power plant in production capacity in Kurdistan region of Iraq.
