Product Red, styled as (PRODUCT)RED, is a licensed brand that seeks to engage the private sector in raising awareness and funds to help eliminate HIV/AIDS in Africa. It is licensed to partner companies including Nike, American Express (UK), Apple Inc., The Coca-Cola Company, Starbucks, Converse, Electronic Arts, Head, Bugaboo, Penguin Classics (UK & International), Gap, Armani, Hallmark (US), SAP and Beats Electronics (Beats by Dr. Dre). The concept was founded in 2006 by U2 frontman and activist, Bono, together with Bobby Shriver of the ONE/DATA. The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is a recipient of (RED) money.
As part of a new business model, each partner company creates a product with the Product Red logo. In return for the opportunity to increase revenue through the Product Red license, a 50 percent of the profit gained by each partner is donated to the Global Fund. As Product Red is a private company, a portion of the contributions received from the partner brands is assigned as profit. Such an amalgamation of humanitarian aid and for-profit businesses is one example of "ethical consumerism."
In programming languages and type theory, a product of types is another, compounded, type in a structure. The "operands" of the product are types, and the structure of a product type is determined by the fixed order of the operands in the product. An instance of a product type retains the fixed order, but otherwise may contain all possible instances of its primitive data types. The expression of an instance of a product type will be a tuple, and is called a "tuple type" of expression. A product of types is a direct product of two or more types.
If there are only two component types, it can be called a "pair type". For example, if two component types A and B are the set of all possible values that type, the product type written A × B contains elements that are pairs (a,b), where "a" and "b" are instances of A and B respectively. The pair type is a special case of the dependent pair type, where the type B may depend on the instance picked from A.
In many languages, product types take the form of a record type, for which the components of a tuple can be accessed by label. In languages that have algebraic data types, as in most functional programming languages, algebraic data types with one constructor are isomorphic to a product type.
Blessed is a BBC television sitcom written by Ben Elton and starring Ardal O'Hanlon as Gary, a record producer, who is struggling to bring up two small children. The series was broadcast on BBC One on Friday evenings at 9.00pm between October and December 2005. It featured the lullaby Morningtown Ride as its theme, sung by the cast band. One series of 8 episodes was produced.
The episodes were named after song titles and the groups who sang them:
Habits & Contradictions is the second studio album by American hip hop recording artist Schoolboy Q, released January 14, 2012, exclusively on iTunes, under Top Dawg Entertainment. The album features guest appearances from ASAP Rocky, Jhené Aiko, Dom Kennedy, Currensy, Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock. The album's production was handled by American producers The Alchemist, Lex Luger, Mike WiLL Made It, Best Kept Secret and ASAP Ty Beats, as well as members of Top Dawg in-house production team Digi+Phonics.
On September 22, 2011, via his Twitter feed, Schoolboy Q announced the title of his second independent album to be Habits & Contradictions. He described it as a "prequel to Setbacks". On September 26, he released the first offering off the album, a song titled "Druggys wit Hoes Again" featuring Ab-Soul. The song was originally titled "Extra Pills", however Schoolboy Q said it reminded him so much of "'Druggys wit Hoes' times 10". The song was later released to iTunes on October 11, 2011.
"Blessed" is an English language hit single by Lebanese-German singer Fady Maalouf. Maalouf was a contestant in 2008 of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, the German version of Pop Idol. He sang the song for the first time on 17 May 2008 in the finals of the said competition as the "winner's song" in case he won the competition. He eventually came second (runner up) to winner Thomas Godoj. "Blessed" also appears in Fady Maalouf's debut album also entitled Blessed.
Even though Fady Maalouf did not win the title, his extraordinary voice and his charming personality had, by then, won him the hearts of an enormous fan base, which then, in an unprecedented effort, bombarded Sony BMG with letters, mails and phone calls, all demanding the same - the release of Fady Maalouf’s title "Blessed", performed by him during the final show.
After a contract with Columbia, a subsidiary of Sony BMG Music Entertainment "Blessed" was released on 4 July 2008 as a single and went straight to no. 2 in the German single charts.
"Days" is a song by The Kinks, written by lead singer Ray Davies, released as a single in 1968. It also appeared on an early version of the album The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society (released only in continental Europe and New Zealand), and now appears as a bonus track of the remastered CD. On the original Pye 7N 17573 label, the name of the song is "Day's".
The song was an important single for Davies and the Kinks, coming in a year of declining commercial fortunes for the band. The song had been intended as an album track but after the relative failure of the previous single "Wonderboy" (which only reached No. 36 in the UK), "Days" was rushed out as a single with an old unreleased track "She's Got Everything" (recorded in February 1966 in the same session as "Dedicated Follower of Fashion") as the B-side. It reached No. 12 on the UK chart, but failed to chart in the U.S. This did not help future releases however as the next four Kinks singles failed to reach the top 30 (two of them failing to chart altogether) in the UK.
DAYS is FLOW's seventh single. Its A-Side was used as the first opening theme song for Eureka Seven. It reached #3 on the Oricon charts in its first week and charted for 14 weeks. *
As the sun went down and kissed the ground
Where the breathless lie
And the whole world
Seemed to close her doors and wait outside
So we fixed our eyes on paradise
And western worlds
And all the cries of pain, you know
I wish they heard
Though you say your side is our side
And that we've got a common goal
Only them who stand in firing lines
Could ever be the ones to know
Anytime as time goes by, anytime as time goes by
Pray they'll never break us down in blessed days
And die before you let them take our blessed ways
I'm not coming back to stand that
(Crap)
When life depends a crime, defends a spoken word
And another war is won or lost in foreign blood
Another dawn, another pawn a soldier's day
Watch the skies and touch your heart and kneel and prey
Though you say your side is our side
In that we've got a common goal
Only those who stand in firing lines
Could ever be the ones to know
Anytime as time goes by, anytime as time goes by
Pray they'll never break us down in blessed days
I'd die before you'll ever take our
Blessed ways, I'm not coming back to stand that
(Crap)
Though you say your side is our side
In that we've got a common goal
Only those who stand in firing lines
Could ever be the ones to know
Anytime as time goes by, anytime as time goes by
Pray they'll never break us down in blessed days
I'd die before you'll ever take our
Pray they'll never break us down in blessed days
I'd die before you'll ever take our
Blessed ways, I'm not coming back to stand that
