Ogle County, Illinois
Ogle County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the 2010 census, it had a population of 53,497. Its county seat is Oregon, and its largest city is Rochelle.
Ogle County comprises Rochelle, IL Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Rockford-Freeport-Rochelle, IL Combined Statistical Area.
History
Ogle County was formed in 1836 out of Jo Daviess and LaSalle counties, and named in honor of Captain Joseph Ogle, a veteran of the Revolutionary War who came to Illinois in 1785. Ogle did not have an organized government until 1837, so for a year it remained attached to Jo Daviess County. The county was divided three years later in 1839, when Lee County was formed.
Ogle County was a New England settlement. The original founders of Oregon and Rochelle consisted entirely of settlers from New England. These people were "Yankees", that is to say they were descended from the English Puritans who settled New England in the 1600s. They were part of a wave of New England farmers who headed west into what was then the wilds of the Northwest Territory during the early 1800s. Most of them arrived as a result of the completion of the Erie Canal. When they arrived in what is now Ogle County there was nothing but a virgin forest and wild prairie, the New Englanders laid out farms, constructed roads, erected government buildings and established post routes. They brought with them many of their Yankee New England values, such as a passion for education, establishing many schools as well as staunch support for abolitionism. They were mostly members of the Congregationalist Church though some were Episcopalian. Culturally Ogle County, like much of northern Illinois would be culturally very continuous with early New England culture, for most of its history.

On 11.13.21, I was in the stand on my land in Northern Illinois at 8:30am. An hour earlier, at 7:08am, I had arrowed an 11pt buck and I was waiting for it to expire. (which would have been my tag. But honestly...I couldn't 100% confirm this until I tracked him). Anyway, while texting my friends in their respective stands, 1500 miles away in New York State and Vermont, this guy comes walking through... What a beauty. For another day.

You're looking at the BNSF-UP diamond at the Rochelle Railroad Park, in Rochelle, IL. As the camera faces the diamond the line going from bottom right to top left is UP's Geneva Subdivision, the former Chicago & North Western (C&NW;) from Chicago towards Clinton, IA, and onwards to Omaha. The UP Global III yard is about 1 mile beyond the diamond. The line going from bottom left to top right is BNSF's Aurora Subdivision, the former Chicago, Burlington & Quincy (CB&Q;), from Aurora towards Savannah, IL, and onwards to the Twin Cities. The double main line, four track, diamond, known as NX Crossing, is at milepost 83.7 on the BNSF, and at 75.3 on the UP. The diamond is maintained by UP.
Maximum authorized speed on the UP is 70 MPH, and it is a quiet zone. Maximum authorized speed on the BNSF is 45 MPH, and it is a quiet zone. Speed across the diamond is restricted to 35mph.
There are no Amtrak services on either line.
There are ATCS layouts for both lines however only the UP kit works. It is the UP Chicago Area/Geneva Sub. Be sure to use the "Geneva Sub Aggregator" .ini file.

ABOUT THIS LOCATION:
You're looking at the BNSF-UP diamond at the Rochelle Railroad Park, in Rochelle, IL. As the camera faces the diamond the line going from bottom right to top left is UP's Geneva Subdivision, the former Chicago & North Western (C&NW;) from Chicago towards Clinton, IA, and onwards to Omaha. The UP Global III yard is about 1 mile beyond the diamond. The line going from bottom left to top right is BNSF's Aurora Subdivision, the former Chicago, Burlington & Quincy (CB&Q;), from Aurora towards Savannah, IL, and onwards to the Twin Cities. The double main line, four track, diamond, known as NX Crossing, is at milepost 83.7 on the BNSF, and at 75.3 on the UP. The diamond is maintained by UP.
Maximum authorized speed on the UP is 70 MPH, and it is a quiet zone. Maximum authorized speed on the BNSF is 45 MPH, and it is a quiet zone. Speed across the diamond is restricted to 35mph.
There are no Amtrak services on either line.
There are ATCS layouts for both lines however only the UP kit works. It is the UP Chicago Area/Geneva Sub. Be sure to use the "Geneva Sub Aggregator" .ini file.

Ogle County, Illinois
Ogle County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the 2010 census, it had a population of 53,497. Its county seat is Oregon, and its largest city is Rochelle.
Ogle County comprises Rochelle, IL Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Rockford-Freeport-Rochelle, IL Combined Statistical Area.
History
Ogle County was formed in 1836 out of Jo Daviess and LaSalle counties, and named in honor of Captain Joseph Ogle, a veteran of the Revolutionary War who came to Illinois in 1785. Ogle did not have an organized government until 1837, so for a year it remained attached to Jo Daviess County. The county was divided three years later in 1839, when Lee County was formed.
Ogle County was a New England settlement. The original founders of Oregon and Rochelle consisted entirely of settlers from New England. These people were "Yankees", that is to say they were descended from the English Puritans who settled New England in the 1600s. They were part of a wave of New England farmers who headed west into what was then the wilds of the Northwest Territory during the early 1800s. Most of them arrived as a result of the completion of the Erie Canal. When they arrived in what is now Ogle County there was nothing but a virgin forest and wild prairie, the New Englanders laid out farms, constructed roads, erected government buildings and established post routes. They brought with them many of their Yankee New England values, such as a passion for education, establishing many schools as well as staunch support for abolitionism. They were mostly members of the Congregationalist Church though some were Episcopalian. Culturally Ogle County, like much of northern Illinois would be culturally very continuous with early New England culture, for most of its history.
