Bayila (also known as baila) is a form of music, popular in Sri Lanka and parts of India. The genre originated centuries ago among the 'Sri Lankan Kaffirs' or Afro-Sri Lankan communities (mixed communities of Portuguese, African and native Tamil and Sinhalese people). It utilises primarily European instruments and rhythms found in Iberia, Sri Lanka, Africa and India. Bayila songs are played during parties and weddings in Mangalore and Goa, accompanied by dancing.
Bayila music, as a form of folk art, has been popular for centuries in Sri Lanka. During the early 1960s, it entered into Sri Lanka's mainstream culture, primarily through the work of police officer turned singer Wally Bastian. He began adapting the 6/8 'kaffirhina' rhythms to accommodate Sinhala lyrics. By the 1970s musicians, including MS Fernando and Maxwell Mendis, had helped Bayila grow into a well known and respected style of Sri Lankan popular music. It is primarily considered dance music.
After their arrival in 1505, the Portuguese began to convert the Sinhalese and Tamils to Roman Catholicism, building their wealth and power through the spice and slave trade. As early as 1630, African Kaffirs were brought to Sri Lanka to work as slaves or soldiers. The Kaffirs were once described as a people 'steeped in opium and witless with drink'. The Kaffirs' carefree spirit inspired two music forms known as chicote and kafrinha infusing them with humour and satire.
Raul Porchetto (born November 15, 1949) is an Argentine musician and song writer.
Porchetto emerged into the Acoustic movement of Argentine rock during the early 1970s releasing his debut record in 1972 following the subgenre's popular rise in the wake of the Acusticazo.
By the mid 70s he would become a member of the first and extremely ephemeral supergroup of Argentine rock, PorSuiGieco, with León Gieco, Charly García, and Nito Mestre.
For the remainder of the 1970s Porchetto released an average of one LP a year. In 1980 his sixth album Metegol featured a very innovative type of uptown-suave sounding rock, yet remaining accessible and unpretentious when listened to. Metegol sent Porchetto's career to the top of Argentine rock. The album even beat out Serú Girán's third release Bicicleta, in a yearly rock survey by newspaper Clarín and when that group was the most popular act in Argentine rock. In a similar style Porchetto released Televisión in 1981.
Mirroring the early 80s trend towards the much more light and direct rock music of the New Democracy Sound, Raul Porchetto came out with his next two album releases. 1983's Reina Madre became one of the best selling rock albums until that time. He became the best attended solo act in concerts during the first half of the 80s. His most recognized hit is 1986's "Bailando en las veredas".

Feeling tired, bitter and weak.
We're trying to keep the dead from falling asleep.
Something is lost and it's hard to tell right from wrong.
There's a war going on, it's breaking us down.
At least we're not all alone in this cold.
It's time to call our God and ask what's wrong.
I know I was wrong but there's so much to come.
I don't want to see all this pain around me.
So call:
It's all going down when everything's fine.
We need a cure but we don't know what for.
It's sad but there's no one to blame. Time is always right.
Maybe it's just who we are, the game that we play.
To leave must be better then end up this way.
It's time to call our God and ask what's wrong.
I know I was wrong but there's so much to come.
I don't want to see all this pain around me.
So call:
