WA tenants have been left high and dry by a domestic service company claiming to offer end-of-tenancy bond cleaning on rental properties but never turning up.
Eight tenants in WA lodged complaints with Consumer Protection and claimed to have paid the business, Simple Cleans, $3,450 for cleaning jobs that never got done.
Simple Cleans is owned and operated by convicted Queensland fraudster Cassandra Nicole Cooney, and NSW Fair Trading Commission and NT Consumer Affairs have also both issued previous warnings about her dirty dealings.
It is understood Ms Cooney operated under various trade aliases including Moving Out Cleans, Bond Cleaning Online, Easy Cleaning Services, Express Bond Cleaning and more.
Acting Consumer Protection commissioner David Hillyard warned tenants her website Simple Bond Cleans was still active and to avoid making booking or payments via the site.
"When the cleaners fail to turn up on the day booked, the tenants are unable to get in touch with Ms Cooney and have not received a refund they are entitled to," he said.
"We strongly recommend that WA tenants do not have any dealings whatsoever with Simple Cleans or any of the various businesses operated by Ms Cooney and avoid making bookings on the website she operates."
Ms Cooney has previously been accused of hiring workers online through Gumtree and not paying them for their services.
Authorities are currently in the process of removing Ms Cooney's existing cleaning websites.
