Talking Movies

Talking Movies is a top-rated film news programme broadcast on the BBC, that covers cinema around the world, including delivering reviews of the latest films and exclusive interviews with top Hollywood and international talent. The half-hour flagship programme, with a format conceived by BBC TV Executive Producer, Martin Everard, jointly with presenter journalist Tom Brook premiered in 1999 with the demise of the BBC's Barry Norman film programme, and is broadcast on BBC World News, while shorter Talking Movies reports are broadcast during the week and carried in the mornings on BBC America. At one time, the programme was carried on BBC 1, BBC 2, BBC News 24 as well as to the 200 million homes on BBC World. An edited version was/is also shown on a number of international airlines' inflight channels.

As of 2012, the programme has run for over 400 editions and features annual episodes covering the Sundance, Cannes and Toronto film festivals. Recently, the programme has traveled to India and Brazil, reporting on the latest developments in cinema in both countries. The programme has a strong following in Asia, North America, and Europe, as well as other parts of the world.

Mystery meat navigation

Mystery meat navigation (also known as MMN) is a disparaging term coined in 1998 by Vincent Flanders, author and designer of the website Web Pages That Suck, to describe a web page where the destination of the link is not visible until the user points their cursor at it. Such interfaces lack a user-centered design, emphasizing aesthetic appearance, white space, and the concealment of relevant information over basic practicality and functionality.

The epithet "mystery meat" refers to the meat products often served in American public school cafeterias whose forms have been so thoroughly reprocessed that their exact types can no longer be identified by their appearances: like them, the methods of MMN are clear to the producer but baffling to the consumer.

Flanders originally and temporarily described the phenomenon as Saturnic navigation in reference to the Saturn Corporation, whose company website epitomized this phenomenon. Flanders writes, "The typical form of MMN is represented by menus composed of unrevealing icons that are replaced with explicative text only when the mouse cursor hovers over them".

Ritu Varma

Ritu Varma (Born 10 March 1990) is an Indian film actress who mainly works in the Telugu film industry. She is best known for her performance in the award winning short film Anukokunda.

Early life

Ritu Varma was born and brought up at Hyderabad. She has done her entire education at Hyderabad and holds a bachelors degree in engineering. After completing her engineering she took part in Dabur Gulabari Miss Rose glow pageant and was declared the first Runner up.

Career

Ritu Varma rose to fame post her performance in the short film Anukokunda. The shortfilm won best film award at the 48HR Film Project competition in 2012 and also fetched Ritu the best actor female award. The short film was later screened at the Cannes Short film Corner in 2013.

After her appearance in Anukokunda, she entered Telugu film industry. She signed her first Telugu moviePrema Ishq Kaadhal in which she played the role of a costume designer opposite Sree Vishnu. Her next release was Naa Rakumarudu which was followed by Yevade Subramanyam. She has signed up two Tamil projects, China and Pirai Thaediya Naatkal. In Telugu she has signed a rom-com Pelli Choopulu.
