Portland’s Race for the Cure is Komen’s largest event and we would love it if you joined Jennifer Hoff on this event. Our area has one of the highest rates of breast cancer in the country – seventy-one people are diagnosed every week.
Jennifer’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer 25 years ago. Back then, her diagnosis was a death sentence. She had a lumpectomy and chemotherapy, followed by radiation for 39 days. Luckily, her mother not only finished several races, but she is cancer free.
They have ran the Race for a Cure together for several years. If you’re thinking about running with Jennifer this time, consider this – her mom said it was awe-inspiring to see so many supportive people on race day and everyone had a big smile. “You wouldn’t believe how much that would help when you were getting tired.”
