Stock label designs are basic patterns that were printed and then over printed with label details and credits etc. These meant that producers could put out releases with colourful and eye catching label designs without having to go to the expense and hassle of having their own complex designs.

Great work, Tim. I return to often to this page that I felt I had to leave a comment this time. What would be really interesting is to read a bit more about the printers in Jamaica and get to understand the printing process of these labels. I don’t know if they have already printed sheets of the stock label designs which they then reprint over or if they do it the same time. And is the title stamped or is the stamp look simply transfered to the screen print frames. Great uploads!
