Displacement may refer to:
Distance is a measurement of length between two points. Displacement is a overall change in position of an object. Distance does not include a direction whereas displacement does include a direction.

We'll start by looking at motion itself. Then, we'll learn about forces, momentum, energy, and other concepts in lots of different physical situations. To get the most out of physics, you'll need a soli...
This is the Basic Physics Series. In this video, DrD "The Explainer" explains the difference between distance and displacement measurements. This is an understandable explanation of another, often confusing topic.
An introduction to Displacement including many different descriptions of displacement. This video also describes the differences between displacement and distance. There are also three different examples illustrating those differences. Follow us at: https://plus.google.com/+tutorvista/ Check us out at http://physics.tutorvista.com/motion/distance-and-displacement.html Distance: It is a measure of the interval between two locations. Distance is a scalar measure of the interval between two locations measured along the actual path connecting them. Displacement: It is a vector measure of the interval between two locations measured along the shortest path connecting them. Difference Between Distance and Displacement There are two ways to answer this question. On the one hand, there's the sum of the smaller motions that I made: two meters east, two meters south, two meters west; resulting in a total walk of six meters. On the other hand, the end point of my walk is two meters to the south of my starting point. So which a...
Check out the associated tutorial: http://www.ninetyeast.net/physics/grade-9-10-gcse-hsc/speed-velocity-distance-and-displacement/distance-vs-displacement ---------------------------------------------------- This is a simple physics tutorial aimed at high school students in grades 9 and 10 (GCSE, HSC) answering the common questions: - what is distance? - what is displacement? - how do distance and displacement differ or compare. This tutorial is a follow on from one reviewing scalar and vector measurements (http://www.ninetyeast.net/physics/grade-9-10-gcse-hsc/speed-velocity-distance-and-displacement/scalar-and-vector-measurements). Distance and displacement are similar in that they both describe a magnitude of ground covered. They differ in that distance measures the actual traversed spa...

Here is a quick look behind the scenes of my Vesta asteroid video made in Blender. I show how my camera based occlusion culling works for the new micro displacement feature which by default subdivides everything within a certain distance of the camera. To avoid that I basically made a cone-shaped array of planes parented to the camera which masks out geometry not touched by the cone by using a Vertex Weight Proximity modifier and a Mask modifier. I have added also an extra mask object for the backside of the asteroid. It's not exactly rocket science but saves huge amounts of memory and render time without a noticeable difference for the render result. Apologies for the audio quality. I didn't have my good mic so I had to use the inbuilt one on the Macbook Pro. Using Photoshop and After Effects without requiring any additional plugins, create a moving scene where a face show perspective change all from a single still photograph. In this tutorial I run you through how to make displacement maps, how to cut out a subject from a still and fill in the background behind them to have a separate background and foreground, and then animate it all together in After Effects. Please feel free to share ideas or requests that you have for tutorials.

The air stirs up the galaxy!
Be!!!.........
The crosswinds of forever become me and place me on
The porch of the breeze
Without my sounds would be silent
No gullible gusts through the trees
Carrying seasons to bring us
The atmosphere we all can enjoy and we destroy
The blur on the horizon disturbs me
It casts a disguise on the sun
In the end it's the wind that will weaken
And the human goes from billions to none
The wind will regain all its motion
And clear the air for the following to...(breathe)
(spoken) The breeze of; a new creation
Moving clouds, from everywhere
Sensing a rainy stare
Smelling the moisture in the air
In the air.
The weather can be deemed as deceiving
To predict the unpredictability
The passion that it peels for the ocean
Air and water sharing laughter
A bond between two forces of nature
All to live and breathe
The breeze of a new creation
Breathe
