New Line Film Productions Inc., often simply referred to as New Line Cinema, is an American film studio founded in 1967 by Robert Shaye as a film distribution company, later becoming an independent film studio.
It became a subsidiary first of Turner Broadcasting, then Time Warner in 1996, and was merged with larger sister studio Warner Bros. in 2008.
New Line Cinema was established in 1967 by the then 27-year-old Robert Shaye as a film distribution company, supplying foreign and art films for college campuses in the United States. Shaye operated New Line's offices out of his apartment at 14th Street and Second Avenue in New York City. One of the company's early successes was its distribution of the 1936 anti-cannabis propaganda film Reefer Madness, which became a cult hit on American college campuses in the early 1970s. New Line also released many classic foreign-language films, like Stay As You Are, Immoral Tales and Get Out Your Handkerchiefs (which became the first New Line film to win an Oscar). The studio has also released many of the films of John Waters.

First is the Village Roadshow Television ident blended with the New Line Cinema ident. Seen prior to the television screening of Take the Lead (2006). Second is the 1995 New Line Cinema ident that was used when it was a subsidiary of The Turner Company, which is what you see written below it. It was taken from a VHS source - the home video release of The Basketball Diaries. Note that it has been stretched from a 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9. I've only just started to collect the TV logos of Village Roadshow, so more will likely be uploaded in time. They only screen on Australian (and I presume New Zealand) television. Audio pitch is the normal consequence of a PAL modification.
Around next month is the first anniversary of my take on the 1995 New Line Cinema logo and it's time for me to update this. The logo has now been altered to be more similar to the original and the lighting effects has been updated. Animation has been updated to be more smooth and the fog glowing animation has been altered. The biggest change is the inclusion of bevels. A first for a New Line logo remake. This allows for the shining animation in the end of the logo. Like my previous remake, the colours have been altered to make it look like the 1997 New Line Cinema logo. I might do the 1994 NLC prototype logo when I have time. TimeWarner font by 629Lyric. -Blender 3D 2.77 for the animation. -Sony Vegas Pro 13 for altering the colours and adding the music. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED! For fair use only. What if New Line Cinema teams up with TNT Productions and Warner Bros. Animation for a Nightmare on Elm Street TV series on TNT? If they do, these are the closing logos that would most likely be made. Rating: TV-MA-V
Yet another Halloween special. This time, it's the logos from Lights Out. Enjoy!

HORROR MOVIES IN THE EARLY YEARS OF NEW LINE CINEMA LOGO 70S-80S (1987) Here's the opening titles of the horror films that were released in the early years of New Line Cinema with it's an original logo that was used from 1967-1987 until months later that year the logo changed as you see it today. Before becoming a billion dollar company it was considered an underground low budget independent company that put out Grindhouse type films from Kung-Fu action to Horror until it eventually became the "House that Freddy Built" with the hit sleeper Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984. The films opening with original logo Night of the Living Dead (1968) (1978 re-release) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) (1980, 1981 & 1983 re-releases) The Mountain of the Cannibal God aka Slave of...

Wes Craven was brought in by New Line Cinema to revitalize the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. After looking over the series so far, he concluded it was ridiculous, impossible to follow and Freddy wasn't scary anymore. Thus, he fleshed out the idea he had originally intended for the 3rd Nightmare on Elm Street movie, setting the film in the real world with movie-to-reality plot threads and a redesigned Freddy. As a kid, I found it ridiculous and impossible to follow. Now, however... After 5 movies of varying quality, it seems New Line Cinema felt it was time to put the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" series to rest. Or they got filled up with a bunch of people who just didn't like the series, as the only movie this entry has any connection to is the first. Like, a little bit.
