Sia ft. Rihanna - Beautiful People is quickly becoming our most viewed new 2016 upload so we thought we'd share another unreleased RiRi track from a few years back. This was a demo that songwriter Priscilla Renea wrote for Rihanna (she even sings "got a call from my girl saying RiRi") and the parts intended for Akon are sung by Ray Lavendar, an R&B; singer who was signed to Akon's "Konvikt" label at the time. It's unknown whether Rihanna and Akon actually cut the track but it's a shame as this could have been one of their biggest singles.

Aliaume Damala Badara Akon Thiam (born April 16, 1973) (pronounced /ˈeɪkɒn/), better known as Akon, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, businessman, record producer and actor. He rose to prominence in 2004 following the release of "Locked Up", the first single from his debut album Trouble.
He has since founded two successful record labels, Konvict Muzik and Kon Live Distribution. His second album, Konvicted received three nominations for the Grammy Awards in two categories, Best Contemporary R&B Album for Konvicted album and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Smack That" and "I Wanna Love You".
He is the first solo artist to hold both the number one and two spots simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 charts twice. Akon has had four songs certified as 3x platinum, three songs certified as 2x platinum, more than ten songs certified as 1x platinum and more than ten songs certified as gold in digital sales. Akon has sung songs in other languages including Tamil, Hindi, and Spanish. He was listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the #1 selling artist for master ringtones in the world.

Colby O'Donis
Colby O'Donis (born Colby O'Donis Colón; March 14, 1989) is an American pop and R&B singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer and actor. He is best known as a featured artist in the Lady Gaga single "Just Dance", which spent more than eleven months on the Billboard Hot 100. He is also well known for his lead single on his debut album Colby O titled "What You Got" featuring Akon, which peaked at number 14 on the Hot 100, and being featured on Akon's song "Beautiful", which peaked at number 19 on the Hot 100.
Early life
Colby O'Donis Colón, who is of Puerto Rican and Italian descent, was born in Queens, New York, and grew up there and in Florida. His mother, Olga, is a singer once crowned Miss Puerto Rico in NY, and his father, Freddy Colón, is a New York disc jockey. He was named after Colby O'Donis, a firefighter who was killed while saving his father's life. O'Donis has one sister, who is five years older than he is. He has stated that, for seven years, she helped pay for his dance, piano, and guitar lessons out of her own paychecks. His parents first realized his singing talent when he took first place at a talent show by singing a Michael Jackson song when he was only three and a half.

Lil Wayne
Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. (born September 27, 1982), better known by his stage name Lil Wayne, is an American hip hop recording artist from New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1991, at the age of nine, Lil Wayne joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label, and half of the duo The B.G.'z, alongside fellow New Orleans-based rapper Lil' Doogie. In 1996, Lil Wayne formed the southern hip hop group Hot Boys, with his Cash Money label-mates Juvenile, Young Turk and Lil' Doogie (who now goes by B.G.). Hot Boys debuted with Get It How U Live!, that same year. Most of the group's success came with their platinum-selling album Guerrilla Warfare (1999) and the 1999 single "Bling Bling". Wayne reached higher popularity with his fourth album Tha Carter (2004), which was led by the single "Go D.J." and his appearance on Destiny's Child's Top 10 single "Soldier", that same year. The album was followed by Tha Carter II (2005), as well as several mixtapes and collaborations throughout 2006 and 2007. Wayne gained more prominence with his sixth album Tha Carter III (2008), which became his most successful album to date, with first-week sales of over one million copies in the United States. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and includes the hit singles "Lollipop", "A Milli" and "Got Money".

Jay Wayne Jenkins (born September 28, 1977), better known by his stage name Young Jeezy (or simply Jeezy), is an American hip-hop recording artist from Atlanta, Georgia. In 1998, he launched the label imprint CTE World (then known as Corporate Thugz Entertainment). Aside from his solo career, Jeezy is the de facto leader of the southern hip hop group United Streets Dopeboyz of America (USDA), and is a former member of Bad Boy Records' Boyz n da Hood. Jeezy is also known for helping pioneer the hip hop subgenre trap music, alongside fellow Atlanta-based rapper T.I..
Jeezy embarked on his music career in 2001, as Lil J, with the release of Thuggin' Under the Influence (T.U.I.). Its lead single "Soul Survivor", which features R&B singer Akon, became a top-ten hit in the US. Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. (born October 20, 1971), known professionally as Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper and actor from Long Beach, California. His music career began in 1992 when he was discovered by Dr. Dre of N.W.A and, as a result, was prominently featured throughout Dr. Dre's solo debut album, The Chronic (1992). He has since sold over 21 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide.

Sia ft. Rihanna - Beautiful People is quickly becoming our most viewed new 2016 upload so we thought we'd share another unreleased RiRi track from a few years back. This was a demo that songwriter Priscilla Renea wrote for Rihanna (she even sings "got a call from my girl saying RiRi") and the parts intended for Akon are sung by Ray Lavendar, an R&B; singer who was signed to Akon's "Konvikt" label at the time. It's unknown whether Rihanna and Akon actually cut the track but it's a shame as this could have been one of their biggest singles.

Akon stopped by to talk with VladTV about his light up Africa Project, how he used to live without electricity, and how the politics of starting his project were extremely tricky. Akon let us know that he grew up in Senegal a small country on the West coast of Africa. Akon grew up without electricity and running water, and when it came time to eat, cook, or wash he had to use the same water from a running water well for everything. "When I came to the United States, and [saw] the projects or what they claimed to be projects, Vlad I thought they was living in luxury, compared to what poverty is back home..." Akon explained that the US citizens have it a lot better than others around the world.
So what led to Akon lighting up Africa? His grandmother was the main inspiration. He explained she never moved from her hometown and still lived without electricity. "Every time I would come, I would try to upgrade her, but she would never take it... one day I said ma I'm not coming to visit you anymore... you have to at least let me put electricity in the house. Come to find out the grid was so far out; I don't care how much money I had there was no way I could bring electricity to her." That's when he said something had to be done, not just for his grandmother but for everyone in the rural area living without power. "Without electricity, you can't even begin to develop a country, let alone your own home."
Akon got started by partnering with a some of his Billionaire friends he made along his career, and he wanted to build power plants in the five major areas of Africa so the countries could share the plants, but as he got his investors together, he began running into the politics. "I started to realize how deep it was cause this is the type of business that starts real wars, the politics was little heavier than I expected..."Akon explained it was too complicated for him to be dealing with, so while searching for another solution, he came across Solar Energy. "So I went to China, met up with some friends out there, some manufacturers, and aligned myself with one of the biggest companies in China, that's own by the Chinese Government, that manufactures Solar..." Akon learned a lot while doing this project, like how there was a significant tax on solar products due to George. W Bush. "He did it because his main agenda was in oil, he needed the oil to keep burning right, so anything renewable he wanted to keep away because if effected the money." Akon took advantage of all of the unused solar products, and the Chinese manufacturers gave him a Billion dollar credit line to start his project. Akon's project is now in 15 countries, and he's provided almost 16 million people in Africa with power, and energy.

Akon recently stopped by VladTV for an exclusive interview with his new Konvict Kartel artist, OG Boo Dirty, who spoke about beating a murder charge, his beef with Yo Gotti's entourage, and much more.
When asked how he linked up with OG Boo Dirty, Akon revealed that it was his brother who turned him on to the Memphis rapper, who spoke about his rise from facing murder charges to being signed to Akon. OG Boo Dirty explained that he was a target in Memphis after being known as one of the biggest gang members in the city, adding that he was taken into custody on word of mouth.
After facing attempted murder charges and 30 years in prison, OG Boo Dirty said that he took the case to trial and hired one of the best lawyers in the city. The trial only lasted one day before it was dismissed for lack of evidence. Since being released, OG Boo Dirty said that he met Akon, who helped him clean up his life, which included the rapper going to church and starting a youth football league.
