Welcome
Summer school
The Human Rights Centre runs a pioneering summer school on methods for human rights
research. Discounts available for academic and not-for profit sectors as well as Essex research students, alumni and staff.
We are one of the oldest academic human rights centres in the world and enjoy a global reputation
as a leader in the field of human rights research, practice, and education.
We bring together over 80 academic staff from 11 departments
who are prominent scholars in human rights and advise and act on behalf of governments, NGOs, national and
regional human rights bodies, and international organisations such as the United Nations. Our
research and practice-led education, and the
high calibre of our students produces consistently high graduate employment rates. Many alumni now work in human rights leadership positions
throughout the world.
