Marie Löhr was born in Sydney, New South Wales, to Lewis J. Löhr, treasurer of the Melbourne opera house, and his wife, the English actress Kate Bishop (1848–1923). Her maternal uncle, Alfred Bishop, along with her godparents, William and Madge Kendal, were also actors.

Originally released in 1956, On Such a Night is a charming and captivating piece of Glyndebourne history. The thirty-seven minute film was described by former Manager of the Glyndebourne Festival Moran Caplat as a 'little jewel'. Directed by Anthony Asquith and starring David Knight, Marie Lohr and Josephine Griffin the quintessentially English film tells the tale of an American tourist who, upon arriving at Victoria Station in London with the intention to visit the picturesque South Downs, follows a group of well-dressed opera goers to Glyndebourne Opera house near Lewes in the search for the elusive 'New Countess'. There he watches his first Opera - Le nozze di Figaro - of which a number of original and rare excerpts of live performance are included. As well as screen actors Knight, Lo...

Hermann Löhr (1871-1943) was a Plymouth UK native, who had Australian connections, and a cousin, Marie, who was a famous actress. He is best known today for songs like 'Where my caravan has rested' (on this video) - which is guaranteed immortality by Jascha Heifetz' s violin recording - and 'Little grey home in the West'. The transcriber is Louis ('Lou') C Singer (1913-66). Singer was a child prodigy pianist who later became an arranger for Duke Ellington in the 1930s and 1940s. He was also a percussionist, appearing on sessions in the 1950s with Peggy Lee, Harry Belafonte and others. In this and other commercial piano arrangements, aimed at a domestic market, Singer brings touches of the dance-band and musical theatre scoring of the period to much older songs - making fascinating period ...

On May 25, 2011, the state called 24-year-old Anthony Lazzaro to the stand. Lazzaro was dating Casey Anthony at the time of her daughter Caylee Anthony's disappearance.
Casey Anthony's murder trial began in Orlando, Florida, on May 24, 2011. Florida police had said for the nearly three years leading up to the trial that Anthony had led them to believe her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony had been kidnapped by her babysitter, leading to one of the biggest searches for a missing child in U.S. history. Multiple searches were conducted and, in December 2008, a former Orange County meter reader named Roy Kronk found Caylee's remains near her family home. Casey Anthony was accused of multiple charges, including capital murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child and misleading law enforcement. The prosecution sought the death penalty.
During day 1 of Casey Anthony's trial on May 24, 2011, Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane Burdick told the jury Anthony was a pathological liar who was guilty of the crime of murder in the first degree. "As difficult as it may be for anyone to accept that a mother would intentionally kill her own child -- from the evidence you will hear in this case there is no other conclusion that can be drawn," Burdick said. "No one but Casey Anthony had access to all the pieces of evidence in this case ... no one else lied to their friends, to their family, to the investigators. No one else benefited from the death of Caylee Marie Anthony." Burdick alleged that Caylee's death allowed Casey to "live the good life." The evidence in the case, she promised, would show Caylee was "murdered by her mothe...
