Nevsky Prospect (Russian: Не́вский проспе́кт, tr. Nevsky Prospekt, IPA: [ˈnʲefskʲɪj prɐˈspʲekt]) is the main street in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia. Planned by Peter the Great as beginning of the road to Novgorod and Moscow, the avenue runs from the Admiralty to the Moscow Railway Station and, after making a turn at Vosstaniya Square, to the Alexander Nevsky Lavra.
The chief sights include the Rastrelliesque Stroganov Palace, the huge neoclassical Kazan Cathedral, the Art Nouveau Bookhouse, Elisseeff Emporium, half a dozen 18th-century churches, a monument to Catherine the Great, an enormous 18th-century shopping mall, a mid-19th-century department store, the Russian National Library, and the Anichkov Bridge with its horse statues. The feverish life of the avenue was described by Nikolai Gogol in his story "Nevsky Prospekt". Fyodor Dostoevsky often employed the Nevksy Prospekt as a setting within his works, such as Crime and Punishment and The Double: A Petersburg Poem.
During the early Soviet years (1918--44) the name of Nevsky Prospect was changed, first to "Proletkult Street" (Ulitsa Proletkul'ta) in honor of that Soviet artistic organization.[1] Following the demise of Proletkult the name was changed again, this time to "Avenue of the 25th of October," alluding to the day of the October Revolution.
The Nevsky today functions as the main thoroughfare in Saint Petersburg. The majority of the city's shopping and nightlife are located on or right off of the Nevsky Prospekt.
The street is served by the stations Admiralteyskaya, Nevsky Prospekt, Gostiny Dvor, Mayakovskaya, Ploshchad Vosstaniya and Ploshchad Alexandra Nevskogo I of Saint Petersburg Metro.

During our Vision of the Seas Baltic cruise, we did spend Saturday afternoon walking down Nevsky Prospect ((Russian: Не́вский проспе́кт,). It is St. Petersburg's main avenue and one of the best-known streets in Russia, planned by Peter the Great.. Cutting through the historical center of the city. It runs from the Admiralty to the Moscow Railway Station.

It's been a while since I've regularly uploaded tracks, so I decided to just put up an entire album with some of the tracks I've recorded in the past year...This is still only about 50% of my back catalog...These tracks were recorded between a Teac A-3340s and a Pioneer RT-1020L. Bass (Fender jazz bass) and keys were DI'd through a GAP-73. Drums, vocals, and guitar were recorded with a GAP R1 MKII ribbon mic or Oktava mk 339 or EV-635A.. Guitars were a fender strat, 1966 mosrite celebrity, and fender american telecaster.

Nevsky Prospect (Russian: Не́вский проспе́кт, tr. Nevsky Prospekt, IPA: [ˈnʲefskʲɪj prɐˈspʲekt]) is the main street in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia. Planned by Peter the Great as beginning of the road to Novgorod and Moscow, the avenue runs from the Admiralty to the Moscow Railway Station and, after making a turn at Vosstaniya Square, to the Alexander Nevsky Lavra.
The chief sights include the Rastrelliesque Stroganov Palace, the huge neoclassical Kazan Cathedral, the Art Nouveau Bookhouse, Elisseeff Emporium, half a dozen 18th-century churches, a monument to Catherine the Great, an enormous 18th-century shopping mall, a mid-19th-century department store, the Russian National Library, and the Anichkov Bridge with its horse statues. The feverish life of the avenue was described by Nikolai Gogol in his story "Nevsky Prospekt". Fyodor Dostoevsky often employed the Nevksy Prospekt as a setting within his works, such as Crime and Punishment and The Double: A Petersburg Poem.
During the early Soviet years (1918--44) the name of Nevsky Prospect was changed, first to "Proletkult Street" (Ulitsa Proletkul'ta) in honor of that Soviet artistic organization.[1] Following the demise of Proletkult the name was changed again, this time to "Avenue of the 25th of October," alluding to the day of the October Revolution.
The Nevsky today functions as the main thoroughfare in Saint Petersburg. The majority of the city's shopping and nightlife are located on or right off of the Nevsky Prospekt.
The street is served by the stations Admiralteyskaya, Nevsky Prospekt, Gostiny Dvor, Mayakovskaya, Ploshchad Vosstaniya and Ploshchad Alexandra Nevskogo I of Saint Petersburg Metro.

It's been a while since I've regularly uploaded tracks, so I decided to just put up an entire album with some of the tracks I've recorded in the past year...This is still only about 50% of my back catalog...These tracks were recorded between a Teac A-3340s and a Pioneer RT-1020L. Bass (Fender jazz bass) and keys were DI'd through a GAP-73. Drums, vocals, and guitar were recorded with a GAP R1 MKII ribbon mic or Oktava mk 339 or EV-635A.. Guitars were a fender strat, 1966 mosrite celebrity, and fender american telecaster.

St Petersburg. The Chesma palace church (1780) is a rare example of the
Gothic Revival in Russia. The golden spire of the Peter and Paul
Cathedral rises above the Peter and Paul Fortress on the Neva river.
The city is adorned with numerous monuments from the imperial period of
Russian history. The Bronze Horseman comes to life and races the
streets of St. Petersburg in more than one work of Russian fiction. St
Isaac's Cathedral looms in the background. Fountains in front of the
Grand Peterhof Palace. Peter the First Looking at the Baltic Sea.
Inspired by example of Venice and Amsterdam, Peter the Great envisaged
boats and coracles as principal means of transport in his city of
canals. No permanent bridges across the Neva were allowed until 1850.
The small church of Saints Simon and Anne (1734) was designed by
Mikhail Zemtsov and dedicated to the patrons saints of Empress Anne.
Preserved as a museum ship in St. Petersburg, the Aurora became a
symbol of the October Revolution in Russia. The downtown preserves
numerous profit houses built in the Art Nouveau style. One of
