South America is a continent located in the Western Hemisphere, mostly in the Southern Hemisphere, with a relatively small portion in the Northern Hemisphere. It is also considered as a subcontinent of the Americas, which is the model used in Spanish-speaking nations and most of South America.
It is bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean and on the north and east by the Atlantic Ocean; North America and the Caribbean Sea lie to the northwest. It includes twelve sovereign states – Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela – and two non-sovereign areas – French Guiana, an overseas department of France, and the Falkland Islands, a British Overseas Territory (though disputed by Argentina). In addition to this, the ABC islands of the Netherlands and Trinidad and Tobago may also be considered part of South America.
South America has an area of 17,840,000 square kilometers (6,890,000 sq mi). Its population as of 2005 has been estimated at more than 371,090,000. South America ranks fourth in area (after Asia, Africa, and North America) and fifth in population (after Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America). The most populous countries are Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela and Peru.

Atacama Desert Excluding the poles of our planet, the Atacama Desert is the driest place on Earth. One of the ways people defines a desert is to look at the region's average rainfall. Experts consider an area a desert if it receives less than 25 centimeters of rain annually. The Atacama Desert receives less than one-tenth of a centimeter of rain each year. Some regions of the area haven’t seen rain in hundreds of years. The area saw an unprecedented 31 inches of snow when an Antarctic cold front made its way through the area in July 2011. The desert covers a 600-mile strip of land that stretches from the southern bo...

The rest is what ended up happening. Enjoy :) Feel free to share Soy de Pakistan y vivo en Estados Unidos. Encienda anotaciones para español traductor :) By Shafiq Zaib

Read your free e-book: http://copydl.space/mebk/50/en/B018RZYUKK/book This book provides readers with in-depth insights into the changes in the Pantanal wetland from its formation to the actual and likely future states. It reveals that todays Pantanal is an evolutionary consequence of geological, ecological and, more recently, man-made events taking place at distinct space-time intervals. Topics include geotectonics and sun-earth interactions, which largely dictate the rate of drastic changes that eventually disrupt ecological stability and radically rebuild the regional landscape. Furthermore, the biota-climate system is discussed as a major driver reshaping the ecohydrology functioning of the landscape on an intermediate timescale. Also covered are major changes in the landscape ecohydro...

Chile was given its name by the Incas who respectfully called it Chili, ‘the country in the south’. Santiago De Chile, the capital of Chile, is dignified, modest and European-looking and also lively, modern and full of Latin temperament. The Plaza De Armas is the heart of the city and the historic centre of colonial Santiago that contains the city’s most important buildings. The city of Valparaiso or, Paradise Valley, is around a hundred and twenty kilometres from the capital of Santiago De Chile on the Pacific coast. The city’s development was closely connected with its harbour which brought it wealth and power. Since the middle of the nineteenth century, escalators have rattl...
Archaeologist Dr Jago Cooper reveals the true character of this stunning continent through its culture, people and landscapes. There is a rich and fascinating history that has been forgotten. The Incas and the Spanish interrupted millennia of independent development of important and influential civilisations. Across four episodes, we explore Chimor in Peru, Muisca and Tairona in Colombia, Chachapoya in Peru and Tiwanaku in Bolivia. There are temples hidden deep in the jungle, sprawling mountain citadels and long-forgotten gods and kings carved in stone. The Lost Kingdoms of South America have only just begun to relinquish their secrets.

In the wide wilderness of the rain forest in the south of Venezuela, near to the origins of the Orinoco, the Yanomanmi Indian, the most isolated people of South America live. Mining, ranching, and health care chaos threaten Yanomami for thousands of years, the Yanomami have thrived in the rainforests of South America. Now, they are struggling as the government fails to protect them from criminal invasions, attacks and disease. As is typical of hunter gatherers and shifting cultivators, it takes the Yanomami less than four hours work a day on average to satisfy all their material needs. Much time is left for leisure and social activities. The spirit world is a fundamental part of Yanomami life. Every creature, rock, tree and mountain has a spirit. Sometimes these are malevolent, attack t...
I'm so selfish, so jealous
Are you out tonight?
I've been longing for the weekend
Did you see me in the back alley light?
And you don't know that things haven't been easy.
It's time now for you to see me.
Are you out tonight? Are you out tonight?
I am so careful, so very careful.
Are you out tonight?
I was talking a friend in mind (?)
In the bright night club light.
And there's a chance that a look from a stranger can give you so much more than this.
Are you here tonight? Are you out tonight?
Yes, I saw it happen! It happened, calm down - calm down!
