Drinking tea at a traditional Korean Tea House (전통 찻집) in Insadong, Seoul, Korea Travel Food Video Transcript:
So for today's video we are planning to a visit a traditional Korean tea house (전통 찻집). And it is super hot and humid outside but it is one of those things you just have to do in Seoul (서울). So we're just dealing with the heat and we're going to drink some hot tea and have some rice cakes. Let's sweat it out. Let's go.
So our teas have arrived. Tell us what we're having. Yeah, so the one that I ordered is called gyepi cha (계피 차) and you can have a look at it down here. It comes in a nice like kind of fancy traditional cup. It is almost like a soup bowl. Yeah, it really is. And this is a Korean cinnamon tea (한국어 계피 차) so I'm really excited about this. I love anything with cinnamon.
And we also ordered some sweets to go along with the tea. So what can you tell us? What are we having there. Yeah, so this is really exciting. We've got persimmon slices. They've been dried and then we have some special tteok (떡) which is the Korean rice cakes and they appear to have it looks like rice crispies around them. Yeah they're actually instead of cakes they're more like rice crisps. And I think we've had these ones before like several years ago and they're really airy. They're almost like rice puffs but they are sweet.
So I'm trying the tea (차). And I think you were the clever one today. You got yours as iced. Mine is piping hot and it must be like I don't know 35 degrees with high humidity.
Wow. That is like intense cinnamon flavor. Yeah, it kind of smells like Christmas over here. It does. And it is wonderful. Like it is natural cinnamon. It is not that artificial like garbage-y type
Which are unfortunately in a lot of products. This is real authentic cinnamon.
Okay, so for mine I got the Maesilcha (매실차, 梅實茶) which is a green plum tea and it has got ice cubes in it. Much needed today.
You can actually see behind you there is the air conditioner guys. That huge air conditioner. That is so so hot. And this is so good it is like juice. It is like a sweet syrupy plum juice.
Refreshing?
So time to try the snacks now.
So I'm going to start off with having one of the sliced dried persimmons (감).
And it appears that there is some like chunks of nuts. I'm not sure what that is. If I had to guess without even tasting it I would say maybe walnut.
It is sweet but not too overpowering. I mean you really taste the persimmon. It is kind of like a little bit like a jam.
And I think I was right I'm pretty sure this is walnuts. Hodu (호두). So really tasty.
It goes well with the tea.
And we have a second snack. So do you want to try one of those?
Yeah these are one of the puffed rice cakes. Let's have a closer look. Really good. Again. They look fluffy inside.
Again not too strongly flavored or sugary. Which is really nice because the teas are quite sweet so this is a nice light snack to go along with it.
So I would say that was a very relaxing experience. It was almost like whisper quiet in there with classical music softly playing.
The cool thing is like when you arrive to these establishments really early you can sometimes be the first person there. Yeah and we were the only ones there. Yeah and it there are some people now but while we were having our tea we were the only people there. Okay so let's talk about the price for that.
So the price point was nineteen thousand five hundred Won which is ₩18,500. And that is roughly about 17 US dollars right now. So again it was a little pricey but I mean again we're in the Insadong (인사동) area and it is very touristy. And you're paying for that kind of like authentic tea house traditional tea house (전통 찻집) experience.

On a cold winter day in Korea we headed to cozy little Traditional Korean Tea House (찻집) in the historic neighborhood of Insadong (Seoul, Korea) to warm up by sipping on Korean tea (specially Ginger 생강차 & Plum 매실차) on a warm ondol floor in a room elaborately decorated with Korean traditional ornaments. We enjoyed the quiet reprieve away from the bustling Insadong main strip where tourists and locals collide in mass. Down through the narrow alleyway we found this gem of a tea house: Shin Old Tea House. Most Korean tea houses in Insadong are along back-alleys and side-streets just off of the main pedestrian strip in Insadong.

You'll notice these Korea tea houses by their traditional Korean architecture.
A proper Korean tea house is one in which you're sitting down on a heated floor.
Aside from enjoying a hearty Korean soup, sipping on warm tea and enjoying a small bite of Korean rice cakes is the perfect way to remain toasty when it is subzero temperatures outside.
We enjoyed the sweet teas and delicious snacks provided by our host.
One of rice cake snacks appeared to be coated with honey and was quite airy and light inside.
The other rice cake snack, was really dense and chewy. It certainly was a nice contrast between the two different varieties on offers.
To stay nice and toasty, we were heated from both an electric fan from above and from the warm ground below (known in Korean as Ondul).
Ondul heating style is the most common in Korea; pipes underground are heated making the warm floor a very hospitable for lying down or lounging.
In fact, we got some comfortable at times we nearly drifted off to sleep. It would have been the perfect place to take an afternoon nap.
Overall, our drinks and snacks cost 12,000W (roughly $12 USD) which we feel is much better value that a visiting a typical Korean coffee shop.

Today we are visiting the Shin Old Tea House where we will be enjoying a cup of traditional tea.
Right now we find ourselves in a very cozy little tea house. It is very cute. They have low dim lighting and tapestries and pillows on the ground, so we've ordered ourselves some nice fruity teas.
This tea house is located just off of Insadong, which is known as sort of the cultural hub street of Seoul. We've found this quaint little place. As we've placed our orders we have some delicious looking snacks. This looks like rice cake and maybe another rice cake covered in honey with little cereal chunks on top maybe.
Let's try this. Crunchy huh? Okay. It is like puffed rice - like rice popcorn maybe. It has like honey on the outside and it is very sweet and airy.
Here is the ginger tea and the masilcha is the plum tea. How is the plum tea? It is delicious. Mine is so sweet it is almost like liquid honey but it is not too overwhelming. It is really nice. There is plenty of flavor aside from it being sweet.
What kind of tea did you get over there? I got ginger tea. The same thing - it is a nice sweet tea with a really strong ginger flavor. It is just a perfect way to warm-up on a winter day. Oh, yeah.
I'm going to try one of these now. It is a rice cake with a green swirl in it. I'm not sure what the green swirl is because I can't taste any difference. Is it kind of plain tasting? It is just a regular rice cake.
We're receiving heat from two different sources - an electric fan up above us and then we also have the ondul system on the floor. The heated floors by the heated pipes underneath. We're as toasty as you can get. I feel like I could take a nap in here. I probably could
We are finished sadly our tea is gone. It is time to wrap things up and head back into Insadong for a little shopping and maybe some cake.

Having a cup of hot ginger tea at lunchtime has been a part of my routine for a few months now. Not only do I enjoy the taste but it always soothes my stomach and makes me feel relaxed and comfortable. When I researched the health benefits of ginger, I found evidence that ginger can cure nausea, headaches, migraines, stomach congestion, flu... many different ailments! It sounds like a panacea!
I don't know if it can sure all those things, all I know is that it always makes me feel good. I've been developing my own variation on traditional Korean saenggangcha so I decided to share it with you. This might be the simplest recipe on my website! It calls for very few ingredients: ginger and honey. That's all you need! Don't forget to float several pine nuts on the tea.

Korean tea (Korean: 차 Korean pronunciation: [tɕʰaː]) is a Korean traditional tea which is a variety of herbal and plant infusions, including the leaves of the tea bush (Camellia sinensis). Like brews made from tea leaves, Korean tea is prepared by infusing fruits, leaves, roots, or grains in hot water. The resulting drink is served hot or cold. Green tea was not popular until recent years.
History
The first historical record documenting the offering of tea to an ancestral god describes a rite in the year 661 in which a tea offering was made to the spirit of King Suro, the founder of the Geumgwan Gaya Kingdom (42-562). Records from the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392) show that tea offerings were made in Buddhist temples to the spirits of revered monks.
During the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), the royal Yi family and the aristocracy used tea for simple rites, the "Day Tea Rite" was a common daytime ceremony, whereas the "Special Tea Rite" was reserved for specific occasions. These terms are not found in other countries.

On a cold winter day in Korea we headed to cozy little Traditional Korean Tea House (찻집) in the historic neighborhood of Insadong (Seoul, Korea) to warm up by sipping on Korean tea (specially Ginger 생강차 & Plum 매실차) on a warm ondol floor in a room elaborately decorated with Korean traditional ornaments. We enjoyed the quiet reprieve away from the bustling Insadong main strip where tourists and locals collide in mass. Down through the narrow alleyway we found this gem of a tea house: Shin Old Tea House. Most Korean tea houses in Insadong are along back-alleys and side-streets just off of the main pedestrian strip in Insadong. A proper Korean tea house is one in which you're sitting down on a heated floor. Aside from enjoying a hearty Korean soup, sipping on warm tea and enjoying a small bite of Korean rice cakes is the perfect way to remain toasty when it is subzero temperatures outside. We enjoyed the sweet teas and delicious snacks provided by our host. One of rice cake snacks appeared to be coated with honey and was quite airy and light inside. The other rice cake snack, was really dense and chewy. It certainly was a nice contrast between the two different varieties on offers. To stay nice and toasty, we were heated from both an electric fan from above and from the warm ground below (known in Korean as Ondul). Ondul heating style is the most common in Korea; pipes underground are heated making the warm floor a very hospitable for lying down or lounging. In fact, we got some comfortable at times we nearly drifted off to sleep. It would have been the perfect place to take an afternoon nap. Today we are visiting the Shin Old Tea House where we will be enjoying a cup of traditional tea. Right now we find ourselves in a very cozy little tea house. It is very cute. They have low dim lighting and tapestries and pillows on the ground, so we've ordered ourselves some nice fruity teas. This tea house is located just off of Insadong, which is known as sort of the cultural hub street of Seoul. We've found this quaint little place. As we've placed our orders we have some delicious looking snacks. This looks like rice cake and maybe another rice cake covered in honey with little cereal chunks on top maybe. Let's try this. Crunchy huh? Okay. It is like puffed rice - like rice popcorn maybe. It has like honey on the outside and it is very sweet and airy. Here is the ginger tea and the masilcha is the plum tea. How is the plum tea? It is delicious. Mine is so sweet it is almost like liquid honey but it is not too overwhelming. It is really nice. There is plenty of flavor aside from it being sweet. What kind of tea did you get over there? I got ginger tea. The same thing - it is a nice sweet tea with a really strong ginger flavor. It is just a perfect way to warm-up on a winter day. Oh, yeah. I'm going to try one of these now. It is a rice cake with a green swirl in it. I'm not sure what the green swirl is because I can't taste any difference. Is it kind of plain tasting? It is just a regular rice cake. We're receiving heat from two different sources - an electric fan up above us and then we also have the ondul system on the floor. The heated floors by the heated pipes underneath. We're as toasty as you can get. I feel like I could take a nap in here. I probably could We are finished sadly our tea is gone. Not only do I enjoy the taste but it always soothes my stomach and makes me feel relaxed and comfortable. When I researched the health benefits of ginger, I found evidence that ginger can cure nausea, headaches, migraines, stomach congestion, flu... many different ailments! It sounds like a panacea! I don't know if it can sure all those things, all I know is that it always makes me feel good. I've been developing my own variation on traditional Korean saenggangcha so I decided to share it with you. This might be the simplest recipe on my website! It calls for very few ingredients: ginger and honey. That's all you need! Don't forget to float several pine nuts on the tea. Enjoy my hot tea, pulp and pine nuts! So for today's video we are planning to a visit a traditional Korean tea house (전통 찻집). And it is super hot and humid outside but it is one of those things you just have to do in Seoul (서울). So we're just dealing with the heat and we're going to drink some hot tea and have some rice cakes. Let's sweat it out. Let's go.
So our teas have arrived. Tell us what we're having. Yeah, so the one that I ordered is called gyepi cha (계피 차) and you can have a look at it down here. It comes in a nice like kind of fancy traditional cup. It is almost like a soup bowl. Yeah, it really is. And this is a Korean cinnamon tea (한국어 계피 차) so I'm really excited about this. I love anything with cinnamon.
And we also ordered some sweets to go along with the tea. So what can you tell us? What are we having there. Yeah, so this is really exciting. We've got persimmon slices. They've been dried and then we have some special tteok (떡) which is the Korean rice cakes and they appear to have it looks like rice crispies around them. Yeah they're actually instead of cakes they're more like rice crisps. And I think we've had these ones before like several years ago and they're really airy. They're almost like rice puffs but they are sweet.
So I'm trying the tea (차). And I think you were the clever one today. You got yours as iced. Mine is piping hot and it must be like I don't know 35 degrees with high humidity.
Wow. That is like intense cinnamon flavor. Yeah, it kind of smells like Christmas over here. It does. And it is wonderful. Like it is natural cinnamon. It is not that artificial like garbage-y type
Which are unfortunately in a lot of products. This is real authentic cinnamon.
Okay, so for mine I got the Maesilcha (매실차, 梅實茶) which is a green plum tea and it has got ice cubes in it. Much needed today.
You can actually see behind you there is the air conditioner guys. That huge air conditioner. That is so so hot. And this is so good it is like juice. It is like a sweet syrupy plum juice.
Refreshing?
So time to try the snacks now.
So I'm going to start off with having one of the sliced dried persimmons (감).
And it appears that there is some like chunks of nuts. I'm not sure what that is. If I had to guess without even tasting it I would say maybe walnut.
It is sweet but not too overpowering. I mean you really taste the persimmon. It is kind of like a little bit like a jam.
And I think I was right I'm pretty sure this is walnuts. Hodu (호두). So really tasty.
It goes well with the tea.
And we have a second snack. So do you want to try one of those?
Yeah these are one of the puffed rice cakes. Let's have a closer look. Really good. Again. They look fluffy inside.
Again not too strongly flavored or sugary. Which is really nice because the teas are quite sweet so this is a nice light snack to go along with it.
So I would say that was a very relaxing experience. It was almost like whisper quiet in there with classical music softly playing.

Drinking tea at a traditional Korean Tea House (전통 찻집) in Insadong, Seoul, Korea Travel Food Video Transcript:
So for today's video we are planning to a visit a traditional Korean tea house (전통 찻집). And it is super hot and humid outside but it is one of those things you just have to do in Seoul (서울). So we're just dealing with the heat and we're going to drink some hot tea and have some rice cakes. Let's sweat it out. Let's go.
So our teas have arrived. Tell us what we're having. Yeah, so the one that I ordered is called gyepi cha (계피 차) and you can have a look at it down here. It comes in a nice like kind of fancy traditional cup. It is almost like a soup bowl. Yeah, it really is. And this is a Korean cinnamon tea (한국어 계피 차) so I'm really excited about this. I love anything with cinnamon.
And we also ordered some sweets to go along with the tea. So what can you tell us? What are we having there. Yeah, so this is really exciting. We've got persimmon slices. They've been dried and then we have some special tteok (떡) which is the Korean rice cakes and they appear to have it looks like rice crispies around them. Yeah they're actually instead of cakes they're more like rice crisps. And I think we've had these ones before like several years ago and they're really airy. They're almost like rice puffs but they are sweet.
So I'm trying the tea (차). And I think you were the clever one today. You got yours as iced. Mine is piping hot and it must be like I don't know 35 degrees with high humidity.
Wow. That is like intense cinnamon flavor. Yeah, it kind of smells like Christmas over here. It does. And it is wonderful. Like it is natural cinnamon. It is not that artificial like garbage-y type
Which are unfortunately in a lot of products. This is real authentic cinnamon.
Okay, so for mine I got the Maesilcha (매실차, 梅實茶) which is a green plum tea and it has got ice cubes in it. Much needed today.
You can actually see behind you there is the air conditioner guys. That huge air conditioner. That is so so hot. And this is so good it is like juice. It is like a sweet syrupy plum juice.
Refreshing?
So time to try the snacks now.
So I'm going to start off with having one of the sliced dried persimmons (감).
And it appears that there is some like chunks of nuts. I'm not sure what that is. If I had to guess without even tasting it I would say maybe walnut.
It is sweet but not too overpowering. I mean you really taste the persimmon. It is kind of like a little bit like a jam.
And I think I was right I'm pretty sure this is walnuts. Hodu (호두). So really tasty.
It goes well with the tea.
And we have a second snack. So do you want to try one of those?
Yeah these are one of the puffed rice cakes. Let's have a closer look. Really good. Again. They look fluffy inside.
Again not too strongly flavored or sugary. Which is really nice because the teas are quite sweet so this is a nice light snack to go along with it.
So I would say that was a very relaxing experience. It was almost like whisper quiet in there with classical music softly playing.

On a cold winter day in Korea we headed to cozy little Traditional Korean Tea House (찻집) in the historic neighborhood of Insadong (Seoul, Korea) to warm up by sipping on Korean tea (specially Ginger 생강차 & Plum 매실차) on a warm ondol floor in a room elaborately decorated with Korean traditional ornaments. We enjoyed the quiet reprieve away from the bustling Insadong main strip where tourists and locals collide in mass. Down through the narrow alleyway we found this gem of a tea house: Shin Old Tea House. Most Korean tea houses in Insadong are along back-alleys and side-streets just off of the main pedestrian strip in Insadong.

You'll notice these Korea tea houses by their traditional Korean architecture.
A proper Korean tea house is one in which you're sitting down on a heated floor.
Aside from enjoying a hearty Korean soup, sipping on warm tea and enjoying a small bite of Korean rice cakes is the perfect way to remain toasty when it is subzero temperatures outside.
We enjoyed the sweet teas and delicious snacks provided by our host.
One of rice cake snacks appeared to be coated with honey and was quite airy and light inside.
The other rice cake snack, was really dense and chewy. It certainly was a nice contrast between the two different varieties on offers.
To stay nice and toasty, we were heated from both an electric fan from above and from the warm ground below (known in Korean as Ondul).
Ondul heating style is the most common in Korea; pipes underground are heated making the warm floor a very hospitable for lying down or lounging.
In fact, we got some comfortable at times we nearly drifted off to sleep. It would have been the perfect place to take an afternoon nap.
Overall, our drinks and snacks cost 12,000W (roughly $12 USD) which we feel is much better value that a visiting a typical Korean coffee shop.

Today we are visiting the Shin Old Tea House where we will be enjoying a cup of traditional tea.
Right now we find ourselves in a very cozy little tea house. It is very cute. They have low dim lighting and tapestries and pillows on the ground, so we've ordered ourselves some nice fruity teas.
This tea house is located just off of Insadong, which is known as sort of the cultural hub street of Seoul. We've found this quaint little place. As we've placed our orders we have some delicious looking snacks. This looks like rice cake and maybe another rice cake covered in honey with little cereal chunks on top maybe.
Let's try this. Crunchy huh? Okay. It is like puffed rice - like rice popcorn maybe. It has like honey on the outside and it is very sweet and airy.
Here is the ginger tea and the masilcha is the plum tea. How is the plum tea? It is delicious. Mine is so sweet it is almost like liquid honey but it is not too overwhelming. It is really nice. There is plenty of flavor aside from it being sweet.
What kind of tea did you get over there? I got ginger tea. The same thing - it is a nice sweet tea with a really strong ginger flavor. It is just a perfect way to warm-up on a winter day. Oh, yeah.
I'm going to try one of these now. It is a rice cake with a green swirl in it. I'm not sure what the green swirl is because I can't taste any difference. Is it kind of plain tasting? It is just a regular rice cake.
We're receiving heat from two different sources - an electric fan up above us and then we also have the ondul system on the floor. The heated floors by the heated pipes underneath. We're as toasty as you can get. I feel like I could take a nap in here. I probably could
We are finished sadly our tea is gone. It is time to wrap things up and head back into Insadong for a little shopping and maybe some cake.

Having a cup of hot ginger tea at lunchtime has been a part of my routine for a few months now. Not only do I enjoy the taste but it always soothes my stomach and makes me feel relaxed and comfortable. When I researched the health benefits of ginger, I found evidence that ginger can cure nausea, headaches, migraines, stomach congestion, flu... many different ailments! It sounds like a panacea!
I don't know if it can sure all those things, all I know is that it always makes me feel good. I've been developing my own variation on traditional Korean saenggangcha so I decided to share it with you. This might be the simplest recipe on my website! It calls for very few ingredients: ginger and honey. That's all you need! Don't forget to float several pine nuts on the tea.

Korean Cuisine : An introduction to Korean Food
I miss Korea these days for a lot of reasons; however, maybe none more significant than the food. As a lover of Korean cuisine I'm constantly craving certain Korean foods such as Pajeon, Bibimbap or Kimchi fried rice. Whenever possible I try to get my fix at Korean restaurants overseas; however, it is often not as good, authentic or as cheap as it is in some of my favorite Korean restaurants in Seoul. I'm hoping I'll soon be able to return to Korea to eat my way around the country. As a lover of Korean cuisine I'm constantly craving certain Korean foods such as Pajeon, Bibimbap or Kimchi fried rice. 1) Kimbap (김밥), aside from Korean street food, is the cheapest Korean cuisine you can purchase. Our favorite Korean Gimbap restaurant was located just around the corner from Audrey's Korean apartment in Yongin. We ended up going there often. Typically I'd order Kimchi fried rice and she'd get Korean tuna soup. Known in Korean as Kimchi bokkeumbap (김치 볶음밥) this was my favorite Korean style fried rice. Audrey on the other hand, couldn't get enough of Kimchi Chamchi Jjigae (김치 참치찌개).
2) To ward off the frigid Korean winters we'd typically go out for some Gamjatang (감자탕) - hearty Korean stew. Similar to Haejeongguk, this spicy pork bone soup featured plenty of vegetables, wild sesame seeds and potatoes
3) For Valentines day we decided to skip the chocolate and candy and instead treat ourselves to a Korean feast set meal. Hanjeongsik (한정식) is a full-course Korean meal with a varied array of banchan (반찬 - side dishes). This is the kind of meal where' you'll want to skip breakfast and dinner for.
4) As is the case in many other countries, Chinese cuisine - that is unique to that particular country and not traditional mainland Chinese cuisine - exists in South Korea. In other words, the Korean Chinese food you try while in Korea is unique to Korea and does not exist in China. We got to try some of our personal favorites: Jajangmyeon (자장면) noodles in a black bean paste and Tangsuyuk (탕수육). Greasy goodness!
5) In Korea, certain dishes are suited towards certain activities and/or weather. When it's raining outside and/or if you're climbing a mountain than it is common to eat Korean style seafood pizza (also known as Korean seafood pancakes. The Korean name is Haemul Pajeon (해물파전) and it is best paired with a milky fermented rice alcohol known as Makgeolli (막걸리).
6) Korean tea houses are a perfect way to relax and warm up on a frigid winter day. Our favorite kinds of Korean tea are usually of the fruity variety. Insadong (인사동), in the heart of Seoul, is a good option for visiting a Korean tea house.
7) Our favorite Korean restaurant, located nearby my apartment in Pyeontaek, was a place we often frequented for dolsot bibimbap and sundubu jjigae; however, we finally decided to try its signature dish: Dakdoritang (닭도리탕) - a hearty and spicy Korean chicken stew. The only regret we had about this meal is that we hadn't tried it sooner!
8) Late at night, our favorite meal in Korea is Korean barbecue. A place nearby my apartment specialized in Samgyeopsal (삼겹살) and galbi (갈비) where we'd often go to feast! It's the perfect caveman meal focusing almost exclusively on meats and veggies with very few carbohydrates.
9) We've been saving this video for near the end - it's our favorite Korean restaurant. With such delicious food and lovely service we ate here often. We show you our favorite dishes dolsot bibimbap (돌솥 비빔밥) - a mixed rice and veggie dish - and sundubu jjigae (순두부찌개) - a tofu based soup.
10) Fancy Korean hot pot? Shabu-shabu (샤부샤부) is just what you're looking for. The fun in this meal is similar to that of a Korean barbecue where you get to cook your food at your own table.

치킨 롤플은 마이크 세팅 문제로(실수로 소리를 너무 높여놓고 녹음했더니 계쏙 삐이-소리가 나더라구요. 꾸역꾸역 찍었는데 나중에서야 문제점을 알았네요ㅜㅜ 참 느리게도 배우는 사용자) 주말에 다시 찍어서 다음주에 올릴께요! 근데 내 연기력 감당할 수 있..을까? (실패한 영상에서 본인 연기력에 매우 놀람.충격.공포.혼란.)
근데 앞으로도 영상 뜸하게 올릴 것 같은 불길한 느낌...왜 때문에 학교 이틀 다녔는데 과제가 2개나 생긴거죠...? 뭐죠...? 뭐지?

Finally finally back with Francesca!! :) (Thank you to one of the subscribers for suggesting this name) I was originally going to upload a chicken roleplay video (I'm not turning into chicken, btw. This is from my 10k event. I'll tell you some more detail when I upload the video :)) but I had some problem with mic and have to retake it. (yes. more chicken)

* ASMR이란? *
ASMR(Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) 이란 시각적, 촉각적, 청각적, 후각적, 혹은 인지적 자극에 반응하여 나타나는 심리적 안정감이나 쾌감 등의 감각적 경험을 의미합니다. 쉽게 풀어서 말씀드리면, 어렸을 때 엄마가 무릎에 머리를 앉혀놓고 귀를 파주었을 때나 미용실에서 미용사가 머리카락을 잘라주거나 샴푸를 할 때 잠이 솔솔 왔던 경험, 혹은 바다나 산 등의 자연소리를 들으면 마음이 편안해지고 안정되는 느낌을 받았던 적이 한번씩 있으셨을 꺼예요. 이런 여러 상황들 속에서 촉각,청각,시각 등등을 통해 편안함을 느끼게 되는 것을 "ASMR" 이라고 합니다

Seoul is one of the most dynamic cities in the world. I've been privileged enough to have lived in and around the Seoul metropolitan area for several years as an English teacher. It's a city that is near and dear to my heart and one which I strongly encourage you to visit. Below is my things to do in Seoul travel guide featuring all of the top attractions worth visiting:

1) Insadong is the cultural HUB of Seoul. It's an area that is equally as popular with locals as it is with tourists. Whether you're shopping for Korean souvenirs, people watching or wanting to grab some Korean street food, you'll find it all here.
2) Do fancy cats? For cat lovers (and the cats living there) a cat cafe is paradise. With an opportunity to interact with cats and feed them treats, you'll be sure to make a few feline friends in just one sitting. The deal with these cat cafes is that you have to purchase a prepaid drink and/or snack (at a price higher than a normal cafe) for the opportunity to pet and play with kitties. Our favorite cat cafe was located in Hongdae.
3) In the winter Korea is frigid in a way few from abroad might expect. To warm up head to a proper Korean Tea House where you'll be served a wonderful aromatic fruity Korean tea accompanied by rice cake snacks. To enjoy like a local find a spot with Ondol - heated floors. If you're looking for a recommendation, try the ginger tea!
4) For the best view in Seoul consider hiking up Mount Namsan to visit Seoul Tower. Best done in the spring or fall - given the moderate temperatures - this moderately challenging walk will take less than an hour to complete. We picked late fall to go when it was cooler outside and leaves were changing colors.
5) No trip to Seoul would be complete without visiting the oldest market in the city - Namdaemun market. Many come here to shop but I'm all about coming for Korean street food. With a plethora of stalls and no shortage of options it's best to arrive with an empty stomach. If you're having a hard time choosing I recommend Hotteok and Tteokbokki.
6) As if visiting a cat cafe wasn't enough there are also dog cafes in Seoul! Unlike the cat cafes, which are a bit more mellow, prepare for a high energy kind of environment in the dog cafe where the dogs are more active than the docile cats.
7) For the best walk in Seoul head down to the Cheonggyecheon stream in the heart of the city. Equally as fascinating during the summer as it is by winter, it takes on a totally different personality as the seasons change. If you're lucky you'll spot a traditional Korean performance or hear Korean music playing.
8) There are numerous palaces to consider visiting in Seoul but none is more impressive than Gyeongbokgung. With admission being only 3000 KRW it's a cheap and fun landmark to visit. Be sure to stick around for the changing of guard ceremony.
