Next time you’re ready to walk through nature, pay a visit to Jeju-do Island.
This small enclave, located about 55 miles off the coast of South Korea, is remembered in history as “The Island of the Gods.” You’ll see why it has this nickname when you embark on a Jeju-do Island tour, and wander through its many natural wonders. Spend some time at the exquisite Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, or walk through the miles of paths that run along the coastline for a breath of fresh oceanic air. Historical names
Historically, the island has been called by many different names including:
Before the Japanese annexation in 1910, the island was usually known as Quelpart to Europeans. The name apparently came from the first European ship to spot the island, the Dutch Quelpaert, which sighted it after being blown off course on its way to the Dutch trading base in Nagasaki, Japan, from Taiwan (then the Dutch colony of Formosa).

The steep coast and rocky bay indicate that powerful eruptions once took place there and perhaps the volcano’s benign appearance may only be a momentary lapse in the geological history of the island. This small enclave, located about 55 miles off the coast of South Korea, is remembered in history as “The Island of the Gods.” You’ll see why it has this nickname when you embark on a Jeju-do Island tour, and wander through its many natural wonders. Spend some time at the exquisite Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, or walk through the miles of paths that run along the coastline for a breath of fresh oceanic air. You can also spend hours in the Bijarim Forest, surrounded by ancient trees that reach over 80 feet into the sky.

I'm so sorry this took ages to go up! I had a bit of trouble with the footage and some technical glitches. Hope you enjoy a glimpse into our second honeymoon! Thumbs up for filming during our honeymoon hehe.
Hope this helps some of you guys see what it's like holidaying around Korea. For those interested in visiting Jejudo, here is some information about our private taxi tour guide (not promoted or sponsored in any way):
Our 'personal' taxi tour guide in Jejudo! He was really cute and nice but can only speak Korean. If you can't speak Korean and require English, Japanese or Chinese (or any other), just call or email him and he will connect you to someone for you. Make sure to mention me (Jen from meejmuse) for extra good service :) He was sooo nice, gave us freebies throughout the trip, exclusive discounts to each tourism place and took us to good local eateries only the locals know! I don't get anything for this it's purely in case any of my muser friends want a referral for someone trustworthy, as I know many of you are interested in visiting through my Instagram.

One of the highlights of Seopikoji sightseeing is a visit to Bongsudae, an ancient signal tower built entirely of stone. Bongsudae, and other towers like it, was once used as a communication system, transmitting messages via signal fire. The remaining walls are over 13 feet high, and are the perfect place for photo ops.
