Rear of Lampe addressing hearing STORYLINE: Hundreds of Ford Motor Company assembly workers drove their product around the streets of Washington D-C on Tuesday in support for the car maker. The United Auto Workers union brought members to the U-S capital from a half-dozen states. The union members drove Ford's most popular make in North America, the Ford Explorer, in an effort to get their message across that any safety problems are not with the Explorers, but with the tires put on them. The convoy around the Mall and the Capitol Hill rally came as Ford and Firestone officials were at a Congressional hearing on the tire problems. Ford last month announced it would replace all 13 (m) million Firestone Wilderness A-T tires on its vehicles. At the hearing, the head of the Congressional committee investigating tire safety came under fire for claiming Ford is replacing Firestone tires with other brands that also have serious failure rates. The replacement tires are made by Michelin, Continental, Goodyear, General, BF Goodrich and Uniroyal. The company insisted that other sizes of the tire made at other plants were safe. This was gratefully filmed by Joe Bryan in 2004. I have done numerous copies for different people. I know some people still haven't seen Joe's film. This is your opportunity to sit back & relax and have a look at the factory as it was just before it's final closure. Feel free to download the film. If you like the video please give me a thumbs up. If you don't like the video give me a thumbs down. Thanks. At approx. 1hr 9min you can see the last Range Rover (Tempest) chassis being produced in Bilston. Please comment. Doesn't matter if it's positive or negative. I myself have fond memories of Thompsons. I worked at Thompsons just short of 40 years. I had my first interview with Jim Weeks in an old Anderson shelter. I then served my apprenticeship with the company. Emerys Lloyd met me on my first day & took me to see Geoff Smith (foreman). I first worked on the Rover P5. I used to go in to Tony Williams's welding cabin & learn to arc weld. After only a few weeks of starting at Thompsons on the Rover P5, Colin Cole & Sambo Cartwright tied my hands together & put me in a waste paper bin. This was just before dinner time & i usually went home for dinner!! I didn't that day. Colin had a Commer Cob van in those days. I worked in the Prototype Department for many years. My first learning curve was working on the first prototypes of the Range Rover Chassis. Many families worked there. The Bate family (my family), The Oldfields, The Shintons (2 Shinton's families), The Richards's, The Pugh's, The Rogers's, The Barnetts & many more. I knew virtually everyone on the shop floor & also the offices. My sister Barbara & Dorothy Rubery used to work for David Bullock in the 1960's. I remember Sue Morgan starting. Sue, Dorothy & my sister Barbara used to wear the shortest miniskirts you've ever seen! I was an apprentice the same time as my brother Gordon, John Ault, Mick Evans (later to become the boss), John Tart, Dave Andrew, Phil Shinton & more. Some of these people were slightly older or younger than me. John Ault was at Thompsons until the very end. I used to talk to John Walters (electrician) about the local pop scene when we were younger. I remember Opple Pie (yes it was Opple), Goblin, Cheyenne, The Red Baron, Nasser, Nap, Mad Jack & Pudding. There was Roly Rhodes, George Sherwood, Harry Roberts, Fred Stockton, Bill (Ginger) White If anyone has any footage of Thompsons Motor Pressings please put it on youtube. Ford last month announced it would replace all 13 (m) million Firestone Wilderness A-T tires on its vehicles. At the hearing, the head of the Congressional committee investigating tire safety came under fire for claiming Ford is replacing Firestone tires with other brands that also have serious failure rates. The replacement tires are made by Michelin, Continental, Goodyear, General, BF Goodrich and Uniroyal. The company insisted that other sizes of the tire made at other plants were safe. Damage is the story of John Brickner (wrestling legend "Stone Cold" Steve Austin), a man recently paroled from prison, driven into the illegal world of underground fighting. Brickner attempts to renew his life on the outside amidst a world infused with degenerates, criminals and killers. With the help of slick fighting promoter Reno (Walton Goggins) and his cut person Frankie (Laura Vandervoot), Brickner soon finds himself climbing the underground ranks. Il est 13h01 au Caire, quand plusieurs hommes tirent à l’arme automatique sur le président égyptien Anouar el-Sadate, lors d’un défilé militaire commémoratif. Dans l’affolement général, on évacue Sadate par hélicoptère vers l’hôpital militaire du Caire. Mais la nouvelle tombe peu après : le président n’est plus. A l’échelle mondiale, Sadate n’était pas aussi populaire que le président Kennedy, assassiné à Dallas en 1963 ; mais il était presque aussi connu. Et dix-huit ans plus tard, ce sont les mêmes questions qui se posent : Qui ? Pourquoi ? Pour le compte de qui ? En égrenant les jours puis les heures et les minutes qui ont précédé ce tragique événement, L’HEURE H revient sur un épisode aux résonnances planétaires. Car l’assassinat d’Anouar el-Sadate est d’abord celui du grand réconciliateur, de l’homme d’Etat qui avait permis la paix entre deux frères ennemis, Israël et l’Egypte. Un homme d’Etat qui s’était vu décerner, en 1978, le prix Nobel de la Paix après avoir signé les fameux accords de Camp David. Un homme d’Etat qui, durant toute sa présidence, avait lutté contre le fondamentalisme religieux. Avec la participation exceptionnelle des témoins de l’événement – à commencer par l’épouse du président égyptien, Jihane el-Sadate – mais aussi de la dernière personnalité étrangère à avoir rencontré Sadate, Jacques Attali ; de son garde du corps personnel et d’un avocat islamiste, à la tête d'Al-Qaïda, L’HEURE H raconte un moment d’histoire qui offre un saisissant écho avec les soubresauts de l’époque actuelle.

Malavika Avinash, Tara, Rangayana Raghu in pivotal roles. The supporting cast features Avinash, Nasser and Suresh Heblikar. Upon theatrical release on 7 July 2006, the film received widespread critical acclaim. Critics acclaimed the film's narration, the acting performances of Ravi Kale, Rangayana Raghu, Tara and Malavika Avinash, and the camerawork and editing of the film. At the 2006–07 Karnataka State Film Awards the film won two awards — Third Best Film and Best Actress (Tara). For his portrayal of Ranganath, who sheltered the assassins, Raghu was awarded the Best Supporting Actor at the 54th Filmfare Awards South.The film is seen by some critics as one of the finest films ever made in Kannada cinema.

This was gratefully filmed by Joe Bryan in 2004. I have done numerous copies for different people. I know some people still haven't seen Joe's film. This is your opportunity to sit back & relax and have a look at the factory as it was just before it's final closure. Feel free to download the film. If you like the video please give me a thumbs up. If you don't like the video give me a thumbs down. Thanks. At approx. 1hr 9min you can see the last Range Rover (Tempest) chassis being produced in Bilston. Please comment. Doesn't matter if it's positive or negative. I myself have fond memories of Thompsons. I worked at Thompsons just short of 40 years. I had my first interview with Jim Weeks in an old Anderson shelter. I then served my apprenticeship with the company. Emerys Lloyd met me on my first day & took me to see Geoff Smith (foreman). I first worked on the Rover P5. I used to go in to Tony Williams's welding cabin & learn to arc weld. After only a few weeks of starting at Thompsons on the Rover P5, Colin Cole & Sambo Cartwright tied my hands together & put me in a waste paper bin. This was just before dinner time & i usually went home for dinner!! I didn't that day. Colin had a Commer Cob van in those days. I worked in the Prototype Department for many years. My first learning curve was working on the first prototypes of the Range Rover Chassis. Many families worked there. The Bate family (my family), The Oldfields, The Shintons (2 Shinton's families), The Richards's, The Pugh's, The Rogers's, The Barnetts & many more. I knew virtually everyone on the shop floor & also the offices. My sister Barbara & Dorothy Rubery used to work for David Bullock in the 1960's. I remember Sue Morgan starting. Sue, Dorothy & my sister Barbara used to wear the shortest miniskirts you've ever seen! I was an apprentice the same time as my brother Gordon, John Ault, Mick Evans (later to become the boss), John Tart, Dave Andrew, Phil Shinton & more. Some of these people were slightly older or younger than me. John Ault was at Thompsons until the very end. I used to talk to John Walters (electrician) about the local pop scene when we were younger. I remember Opple Pie (yes it was Opple), Goblin, Cheyenne, The Red Baron, Nasser, Nap, Mad Jack & Pudding. There was Roly Rhodes, George Sherwood, Harry Roberts, Fred Stockton, Bill (Ginger) White If anyone has any footage of Thompsons Motor Pressings please put it on youtube.
