Plot: After receiving a generous grant from the American Medical Association to find a cure for cancer, Dr. Dyanesh Kripal Chawla, who always gives hope to his patients, proposes to his sweetheart, Pooja, and both arrange to get married soon. While returning home that night, he meets with an accident and wakes up in the East West Hospital paralyzed from the neck down with virtually no chance of recovery. Shattered and devastated, he is in for more trauma and shock when he finds out that Pooja will have nothing to do with him anymore. Upset, bitter and in despair, he loses his will to live, refuses to take medicine nor any treatment, and awaits death.

Plot: Dr. Viren Goenka lives a very wealthy lifestyle in Bombay, along with his wife, Sanjana, and asthma-ridden daughter, Anishka. He has recently been declared 4 of 11 best Cardio surgeons in the world, and is to be felicitated in Delhi, just a few days before Anishka's birthday. In Delhi he is lodged in a five-star hotel, and after the award presentation he is approached by woman, who forces herself in his room, takes out a gun, and informs him that his daughter has been kidnapped, while another kidnapper is holding his wife hostage. Viren is soon told via the woman's cell phone that the kidnappers demand is one Crore rupees, which Viren arranges to pay. As soon as he arranges for the money, he is told since necessary medicines had to be provided for his ailing daughter, the demand is now two Crore rupees. A frantic Viran also arranges for this additional amount, but barely an hour later, he is told that the ransom demand is now three Crore rupees. Viren does arrange for the money, after cashing all his savings, and mortgaging his property, and hands over a large suitcase to the woman, who sprays his eyes and makes her getaway. When he returns to Bombay, he meets with his wife and the Police Commissioner, Rana, as his daughter has yet not been released. Amidst the media frenzy outside his residence, Sanjana explains to him why Anishka was kidnapped in the first place, and why the couple will never see their daughter alive again.

Plot: Former freedom fighter, Sinha, has always believed in the rule of the law over violence. He watches in disapproval as Police Inspector Dawood Durani is arrested, charged with killing his wife, Shehnaz, the daughter of Mirza Lucknowi. He also watches with despair when his pupil, Kishan Kashyap, frequently loses his temper over not getting employed, and when he does get employed as a Police Inspector, shows arrogance and contempt of the law. Sinha's views change dramatically when he watches two women being murdered by a man named Balu. When he reports this matter to Inspector Deshmukh, he is told to check his vision as Balu was somewhere else during this incident. When Sinha persists and decides to approach higher authorities, his lovely daughter, Kavita, the girlfriend of Kishan, is abducted, his Journalist son, Amrit, is killed, and his daughter-in-law, Vimladevi, may well be in league with the killers. The question remains will Sinha still continue to hold his faith in law and order?

Plot: Prem Mehra is a wealthy, kind-hearted, and generous man who lives in a palatial home with his wife, Laxmi, a daughter, and two sons, Vijay and Ravi. Dharamdas is an foe of Prem, and he involves gangster and an employee of Prem's (Munshi) to steal some priceless diamonds from his safe, thereby implicating Prem in the theft, and making him lose all his wealth and estate. Prem and his family re-locate to live with their devoted and loyal employee, Rahim. Vijay gets a job as a news-reporter, while Ravi continues with his studies. Prem's daughter's marriage is on the rocks as he now cannot afford to pay the dowry sum of seven lakhs rupees. Prem has a stroke that leaves his paralyzed. Radha is Vijay's co-worker, both fall in love with seek their respective families' blessings so that they can marry. But before they can get married, Vijay suddenly breaks all ties with Radha and instead gets married to the only daughter, Naina, of a wealthy woman, Shraddha, who is also his boss, thus making it clear to his family and Radha that he has married a girl for wealth. But will Naina and her mother accept Vijay as he is - a greedy money-hungry man. And to make matters even worse Ravi wants to get married to Lalita - who is none other than Dharamdas' daughter.

Plot: Chandramohan Azad (Jeetendra) is an employee and a union leader. His zeal and hard-work is detested by some of his fellow-workers and his employer, Sinha (Pincho Kapoor). After his release, he finds out that his brother-in-law, Deshbandhu (Utpal Dutt) is an MLA, and his sister (Seema Deo) is content with the way the things are. Chandramohan's right to assert what is truthful and right is frustrated at every attempt by a corrupt society and law enforcement officers. Plot: Mr. Sinha runs a textile mill, and shares his profits by paying generous wages and bonuses to his employees. After his passing, his son, Hiralal, takes over and changes everything in order to maximize profits. This brings him into conflict with his employees including Dinanath Saxena. When Dinanath openly confronts Hiralal in a public meeting, Hiralal wants him to tender a written apology, but Dinanath instead resigns and decides to open his very own mill with the help of a struggling Engineer, Ashok Mathur. They do eventually succeed, go into production, hire employees, and soon earn a good reputation. Dinanath gets his daughter, Meena, married to Ashok much to the chagrin of Smita, the daughter of multi-millionaire Kundanlal Batra, who had expected Ashok to marry her. She soon concocts a scheme to bring discord in the Sinha family, and also ensure Ashok's ruin.

Plot: A singer by profession, Suraj (Rajesh Khanna) gets stranded in resthouse in the coutnryside during a rainstorm. While there he experiences ununsual feelings, as if he has been there before. He feels himself transported to another time and era, to another birth, and drawn to a woman named Ratna (Hema Malini). He is unable to leave this experience behind him, and decides to find out what this means. He discovers that in his past life he was a Chief Singer in the emperor's court, his name was Prakash and he had fallen in love with a courtesan named Ratna, much to the chargin and anger of his family and the emperor's and his officials. They are tragically separated. He subsequently comes across a portrait of Ratna, and shortly after he meets a gypsy, Jhumri (also Hema Malini) who looks exactly like Ratna. Soon Jhumri is also able to recollect her past life, and her love for Prakash. This does not auger well with Rita Malhotra (Asha Sachdev) who loves Suraj, and Appa (Prem Chopra), the son of the leader of the gypsies (Madan Puri), who will not stop at anything to make Jhumri his wife. Appa steals the portrait, and instigates the gypsies against Suraj, so that he can marry Jhumri, and perhaps separate the two lovers again in this birth also.

Plot: Middle-classed young and dashing Rohit Kumar Saxena falls in love with wealthy and lovely Reshmi, and both decide to get married. Reshmi's dad, the wealthy Diwan Sardarilal is strongly opposed to this marriage, but relents when Reshmi refuses to marry anyone else. As a result, Rohit and Reshmi get married. Shortly after their marriage, Reshmi gets pregnant, news that is very well received. Then Reshmi enters a beauty pageant, and wins it - being crowned Miss India, with offers to travel abroad. Reshmi decides that she does not want the child now, but Rohit opposes this decision. Both quarrel, and separate, and Reshmi goes back to live with her dad. Shortly thereafter, Sardarilal sends a legal notice to Rohit asking for a divorce. Devastated, Rohit seeks employment, and finds it as a station master at a remote hill station. He meets with Reshmi and her dad, and is humiliated because he is poor. He decides to accumulate enough money to win back Reshmi's love, and decides to do it quickly. This decision results in his being arrested for stealing a suitcase full of jewelery and valuables, and he is also charged with killing the owner of the suitcase - a Miss Sonia. Looks like Rohit's dream of getting back together with his wife will remain unfulfilled during this lifetime.
