Ronald McDonald
Ronald McDonald is a clown character used as the primary mascot of the McDonald's fast-food restaurant chain. In television commercials, the clown inhabits a fantasy world called McDonaldland, and has adventures with his friends Mayor McCheese, the Hamburglar, Grimace, Birdie the Early Bird, and The Fry Kids. In recent years, McDonaldland has been largely phased out, and Ronald is instead shown interacting with normal children in their everyday lives.
Many people work full-time making appearances in the Ronald McDonald costume, visiting children in hospitals, and attending regular events. There are also Ronald McDonald Houses, where parents can stay overnight when visiting sick children in nearby chronic care facilities.
History
Willard Scott
The origin of Ronald McDonald involves Willard Scott (at the time, a local radio personality who also played Bozo the Clown on WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. from 1959 until 1962), who performed using the moniker "Ronald McDonald, the Hamburger-Happy Clown" in 1963 on three separate television spots. These were the first three television ads featuring the character.

Ranald MacDonald
Ranald MacDonald (February 3, 1824 – August 24, 1894) was the first native English-speaker to teach the English language in Japan, including educating Einosuke Moriyama, one of the chief interpreters to handle the negotiations between Commodore Perry and the Tokugawa Shogunate.
Early life
MacDonald was born at Fort Astoria, in the Pacific Northwest of North America. The area was then known as the Columbia District or Oregon Country, disputed territory dominated by the British Hudson's Bay Company and the American Pacific Fur Company. MacDonald's father was Archibald McDonald, a Scottish Hudson's Bay Company fur trader, and his mother was Raven (also known as Princess Sunday), a Chinook, daughter of Chief Comcomly, a leader of Chinook people from the Cascade Mountains and Cape Disappointment. MacDonald was a member of the larger Métis community.
Based on the popular historical fiction of Eva Emery Dye, it has been repeated that "as a child of eight in 1832 at Fort Vancouver, he met three shipwrecked Japanese sailors, including Otokichi". In reality the three shipwrecked Japanese sailors were brought to Ft. Vancouver in the spring of 1834 [not 1832], arriving there about 6 weeks after 10-yr-old Ranald MacDonald had departed for Red River - so there never was the fabled meeting of east and west. MacDonald's Indian relatives might have had legends that their ancestors had come from across the Pacific, but saying that MacDonald "developed a fascination with Japan" and "theorized that it might be the home of his distant relatives" may or may not be accurate. In his autobiography MacDonald explained it in his own words: "My plan was to present myself as a castaway ... and to rely on their humanity. My purpose was to learn of them; and, if occasion should offer, to instruct them of us."

Ronald McDonald is a clown character used as the primary mascot of the McDonald's fast-food restaurant chain. In television commercials, the clown inhabited a fantasy world called McDonaldland, in which he had adventures with his friends Mayor McCheese, the Hamburglar, Grimace, Birdie the Early Bird and The Fry Kids. By 2003, the McDonaldland world had been dropped from McDonald's advertising, but Ronald himself continued to appear.[1]
Many people work full-time making appearances in the Ronald McDonald costume, visiting children in hospitals and attending regular events. At its height there may have been as many as 300 full-time clowns at McDonald's.[2] There are also Ronald McDonald Houses, where parents can stay overnight when visiting sick children in nearby chronic care facilities.
Ronald McDonald is the most terrifying inhuman creature on the face of the earth. A tall clown with hellfire-red hair who enjoys hanging out with children when their parents aren’t looking, Ronald has terrorized young people across the world for nearly five decades. Apparently, there was a time when Ronald’s shenanigans were actually somewhat amusing. Perhaps that was before he started wearing a bright yellow jumpsuit, which makes him look like a psychotic hermit on his way to mopping up a bloody crime scene. God, just look at the above picture! It’s like you can read his thoughts, and his thoughts are “I’m going to enjoy eating your brains, sonny! Yuk Yuk Yuk!�
But thanks to the rising wave of fast food activism — and the simultaneous evolution of cross-cultural coulrophobia — Ronald’s reign of terror might be coming to an end. As reported by the Associated Press, a study by Ace Metrix (a group that studies TV advertising) found that a majority of people don’t respond so well to Ronald’s horrible existence, noting that the word “creepy� came up rather often. In an intriguing twist, a group called Corporate Accountability International thinks Ronald is a little too attractive — they don’t want such a nominally “lovable� character to hawk junk food to America’s children. Now, maybe it’s just me, but nothing could turn me off McDonald’s faster than having a madman covered in mascara shove Chicken McNuggets into my face while squealing, “Hey kids, heehee! Be sure to play sports, heehee!�

Ronald McDonald
Ronald McDonald is a clown character used as the primary mascot of the McDonald's fast-food restaurant chain. In television commercials, the clown inhabits a fantasy world called McDonaldland, and has adventures with his friends Mayor McCheese, the Hamburglar, Grimace, Birdie the Early Bird, and The Fry Kids. In recent years, McDonaldland has been largely phased out, and Ronald is instead shown interacting with normal children in their everyday lives.

Willard Scott
The origin of Ronald McDonald involves Willard Scott (at the time, a local radio personality who also played Bozo the Clown on WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. from 1959 until 1962), who performed using the moniker "Ronald McDonald, the Hamburger-Happy Clown" in 1963 on three separate television spots. These were the first three television ads featuring the character.

Ronald McDonald is a clown character used as the primary mascot of the McDonald's fast-food restaurant chain. In television commercials, the clown inhabited a fantasy world called McDonaldland, in which he had adventures with his friends Mayor McCheese, the Hamburglar, Grimace, Birdie the Early Bird and The Fry Kids. By 2003, the McDonaldland world had been dropped from McDonald's advertising, but Ronald himself continued to appear.[1]
Many people work full-time making appearances in the Ronald McDonald costume, visiting children in hospitals and attending regular events. At its height there may have been as many as 300 full-time clowns at McDonald's.[2] There are also Ronald McDonald Houses, where parents can stay overnight when visiting sick children in nearby chronic care facilities.
Ronald McDonald is the most terrifying inhuman creature on the face of the earth. A tall clown with hellfire-red hair who enjoys hanging out with children when their parents aren’t looking, Ronald has terrorized young people across the world for nearly five decades. Apparently, there was a time when Ronald’s shenanigans were actually somewhat amusing. Perhaps that was before he started wearing a bright yellow jumpsuit, which makes him look like a psychotic hermit on his way to mopping up a bloody crime scene. God, just look at the above picture! It’s like you can read his thoughts, and his thoughts are “I’m going to enjoy eating your brains, sonny! Yuk Yuk Yuk!�
But thanks to the rising wave of fast food activism — and the simultaneous evolution of cross-cultural coulrophobia — Ronald’s reign of terror might be coming to an end. As reported by the Associated Press, a study by Ace Metrix (a group that studies TV advertising) found that a majority of people don’t respond so well to Ronald’s horrible existence, noting that the word “creepy� came up rather often. In an intriguing twist, a group called Corporate Accountability International thinks Ronald is a little too attractive — they don’t want such a nominally “lovable� character to hawk junk food to America’s children. Now, maybe it’s just me, but nothing could turn me off McDonald’s faster than having a madman covered in mascara shove Chicken McNuggets into my face while squealing, “Hey kids, heehee! Be sure to play sports, heehee!�

The Elon Musk Twitter buyout fight continues. The Twitter Board of Directors approved a poison pill defense. Meanwhile, Elon Musk hinted in a tweet that he may go ahead with a tender offer that offers Twitter (TWTR) stock holders money directly for their shares. Can the tender offer overcome the dilution that comes with the poison pill defense or does Elon Musk have another plan?
It has been reported that Elon Musk may team up with Larry Ellison from Oracle along with private equity firm Thoma Bravo. Meanwhile, it has been reported that Apollo Global Management is interested in helping musk or even other buyers buy Twitter.
Elon Musk mentioned how the Board of Directors don't own much stock in Twitter and that they will not be paid when he buys Twitter. Do the Twitter Board of Directors really need the Twitter salary? I take a look at the background of the Twitter Directors and see what their wealth and possible motivations for rejecting Elon Musk's offer may be.
How is this Twitter deal similar to the Microsoft offer for Yahoo that the Yahoo Board rejected back in 2008. Is Twitter making the same mistake?
