Japan (i/dʒəˈpæn/; Japanese: 日本 Nippon [nip̚põ̞ɴ] or Nihon [nihõ̞ɴ]; formally 日本国 Nippon-koku or Nihon-koku, "State of Japan") is an island country in East Asia. Located in the Pacific Ocean, it lies to the east of the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea, China, North Korea, South Korea and Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea and Taiwan in the south. The kanji that make up Japan's name mean "sun origin", and Japan is often called the "Land of the Rising Sun".
Japan is a stratovolcanic archipelago of 6,852 islands. The four largest are Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku, which make up about ninety-seven percent of Japan's land area. Japan's population of 126 million is the world's tenth largest. Approximately 9.1 million people live in Tokyo, the capital city of Japan, which is the sixth largest city proper in the OECD. The Greater Tokyo Area, which includes Tokyo and several surrounding prefectures, is the world's largest metropolitan area with over 35 million residents and the world's largest urban agglomeration economy.
The track that kicked off their second album back when they were the glam/punk/post-punk animal that was yet to be honed into the Quiet Life chart friendly band known by most of the public. I love their first two albums because of their rough edges and edgy toughness. I love their later work as well. RIP Mick Karn.
Not great quality but still worth a listen
Recorded live during the Polaroids tour in Kyoto, Japan 23/2/81. This is a rearranged version of the song and one of the last couple of times it was performed by the band.

http://www.forgottenweapons.com http://www.battlefieldvegas.com The Type 97 was a copy of the Czech ZB-26 machine gun which was used in early Japanese tanks and tankettes. It is chambered for 8mm Mauser, and uses standard ZB-26 20-round magazines. This particular one is in the collection of the owner at Battlefield Vegas, a machine gun rental range in Las Vegas. It is particularly cool because in addition to the gun, he has the mounting point cut out of a Type 35 tankette which fits the gun. Theme music by Dylan Benson - http://dbproductioncompany.webs.com

However, Japan too was a nation of castle-builders. In its feudal days, you could find multiple castles in nearly every prefecture. Original Castles Because of bombings in WWII, fires, edicts to tear down castles, etc. only twelve of Japan's castles are considered to be originals, which have donjons that date bac...

Welcome to Tokyo, the capital of Japan and the epitome of the word “megacity.” In this vast metropolis, ancient traditions blend with futuristic buildings, and your Tokyo sightseeing will take you to representations of each. Pay your respects at temples set in forested hillsides, then flex your credit card in one of the shopping districts, before sitting down to a five-star meal…all in one day. Your Tokyo tour begins with the subway and train system, which will take you all over this sprawling city. Tokyo is home to some 35 million people, many of which you’ll meet as its public transit carries you throughout its many neighborhoods. From the Tokyo Tower one can see only skyscrapers, palaces made of concrete and glass, multi-level highway junctions and monorail expresses. But under the neon lights there are still rickshaw runners pulling their carts and geishas walking in their wooden shoes. The ornamented pagodas, the Japanese gardens, the calm Shintoist sanctuaries tell us about the age of shoguns and ninjas. The digital cameras and the swords of the samurais can be found at the same store. In the restaurants one can have sushi, sukiyaki and tempura sitting on a tatami, using chopsticks. We can take a look at the masterpieces of ikebana and origami and ...

The driver sits on the right side of the vehicle with the engine to his left. His position is fitted with three periscopes, the center of which can be replaced by a passive night vision periscope. For service in Iraq it appears that his position was fitted with an assembly of three windows to enable him to drive with his head out of the vehicle for greater situational awareness while still protected from small-arms fire. http://www.rockislandauction.com/viewitem/aid/68/lid/3260 The Japanese military experimented with self-loading rifle designs through the 1930s, and had 4 major rifles in testing during that period. One was a new design by Kijiro Nambu, one was a Pedersen copy made by the Tokyo Army Arsenal, one was a gas operated toggle locking rifle by the Nippon Special Steel company, and the fourth was this, a ZH-29 copy made by Tokyo Gas & Electric. TG&E; was a major industrial concern that made all manner of products, and they chose to copy the ZH-29 for Army rifle trials. However, it appears that while their manufacturing quality was quite good, they lacked the firearms design expertise on staff to fix the problems the rifle was found to have. Specifically, their ZH-29 suffered from substantially in...

Documentary Films: History of the Machine Gun The WW1 machine gun was not a very good weapon at first. Although most people think of trench warfare in WW1 to be dominated by machine guns, it didn't start that way at all. The trenches of World War I eventually filled up with dead bodies from the power of machine weapons. But at first, these weapons of war were not well built or well designed. They broke down very often. At the start of WW1, the automatic gun was quite primitive and not impressive at all. They jammed up all the time and many soldiers did not even want to use them. They were also very bulky and weighed a lot. This meant they were not easy to transport. The mobility of these guns was a serious issue for soldiers as you can imagine. They weighed between 30kg and 60kg, which w...

3Dプリンター。パソコンで作った3Dデータを物体として生み出せるこの機械を使って、銃を作る男が居る。銃乱射事件も記憶に新しいアメリカで見た、夢のテクノロジーの危険な側面。 Cody R Wilson has figured out how to print a semi-automatic rifle from the comfort of his own home. Now he's putting all the information online so that others will join him. -- This is a story about the rapid evolution of a technology that has forced the American legal system to play catch up. Cody Wilson, a 25 year old University of Texas Law student, is an advocate for the open source production of firearms using 3D printing technology. This makes him a highly controversial figure on both sides of the gun control issue. MOTHERBOARD sat down with Cody in Austin, Texas to talk about the constitution, the legal system, and to watch him make and test-fire a 3D-printed gun. VICEチャンネル登録: http://www.youtube....

http://www.patreon.com/ForgottenWeapons The Japanese Type 93 and its slightly-improved sister the Type 100 were the standard flame weapons of the Imperial Japanese Army for its fighting in China and the Pacific. They are a smaller and handier design than the American weapons, and less user-friendly. The Type 100 uses a rotating valve to fire, paper incendiary cartridges for ignition, and is not equipped with a pressure regulator. This means that as the fuel is consumed, the range and pressure steadily drop. This is a significant difference from the American M2, but in conjunction with properly planned tactics it could be quite effective. The example in this video was taken brand new from the Tokyo Arsenal by a Coast Guard occupation officer in 1945 or 46 and sent back to New York complet...
Too many heartaches have been rejected
A notified delay
I feel adrenalin ejecting
And I'll soon go on my way
And it's so hard now
And it's so hard now
Beating on my brain
I find no fascination to stimulate
I'll do it all again
Oh you find love inside an automatic gun
Another lifestyle breaks on the carpet
Nothing as before
Without old intuition
We're feeling stronger
We're communists at war
And it's so hard now
And it's so hard now
Authority denied
We pull the trigger
The cartridge empty
But marxists still reply
Oh you find love inside an automatic gun
I throw my fist in your chest
In search of a refugee
Love is bust from an air assault cannon
Heaven in your hands
Go beating on my brains
Go beating on my brains
With new abandon
We're resurrected
Throwing you apart
With acclamation
Company deposited
Pissing on your heart
