May this sinister act never be repeated to our Country Again!
The September 11 attacks resulted in 2,996 immediate (attack time) deaths: 2,977 victims and the 19 hijackers. A total of 372 foreign nationals (excluding the 19 perpetrators) perished in the attacks, representing just over 12% of the total. The immediate deaths include 246 victims on the four planes (from which there were no survivors), 2,606 in New York City in the World Trade Center and on the ground, and 125 at the Pentagon. About 292 people were killed at street level by burning debris and falling bodies of those who had jumped or fallen from the World Trade Center's windows.

Viewer discretion is strongly advised due to graphic contents. On the morning of September 11th 2001 almost 3,000 innocent people were murdered by Al Qaeda terrorists. As many as 200 people jumped / fell to their deaths from their burning offices on the uppermost floors of the 110-storey twin towers of the World Trade Center before both towers collapsed. They symbolize the true horror of that day as well as the desperate conditions inside the towers. Intense heat and suffocating smoke pushed people to break their office windows to get some fresh air. People fell one after the other, in pairs, and in groups at a time. Since that tragic day, images/footages of these victims were kept away from the public which, I believe, is disrespectful. We should not deny nor ignore what these victims did at the very last moments of thier lives. They deserve to be confronted, acknowledged, and not be forgotten as much as we would never forget 9/11. May this be a tribute to them. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

One World Trade Center is the primary building of the new World Trade Center complex in New York City's Lower Manhattan and is the tallest building in the United States. The 104-story super tall skyscraper stands on the northwest corner of the 16-acre (6.5 ha) World Trade Center site. The tower's steel structure topped out on August 30, 2012. On May 10, 2013, the final component of the skyscraper's spire was installed, making One World Trade Center the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and the fourth-tallest skyscraper in the world by pinnacle height.

On September 11, 2001, Port Authority Police officers John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno are patrolling the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan when they see a plane fly dangerously low overhead. As all of the police officers return to the station, they see on TV that the North Tower of the World Trade Center has been hit by the plane. Sergeant McLoughlin assigns many of the officers to assist in a precautionary evacuation attempt of the North Tower and they board a Metropolitan Transit Authority bus. On the bus, they hear reports that the South Tower is also hit by another plane. When they arrive at the World Trade Center, they realize the extent of the disaster, and see one of the victims jump out of the towers to certain death. The men proceed to get safety equipment from Building 5 and enter the concourse between the towers.
The group consists of McLoughlin, Jimeno, Dominick Pezzulo and Antonio Rodrigues. Officer Christopher Amoroso appears to inform them of other events, such as the attack on the Pentagon, the second plane's hit on the South Tower and an attack on Israel though the group does not accept any of these as true. As the men prepare to enter the North Tower, the buildings begin to rumble. McLoughlin realizes that the South Tower is collapsing onto them and that their only chance of survival is to run into the service elevator shaft. Amoroso trips and does not have time to get up, and Rodrigues is unable to get to the shaft in time, resulting in both deaths. McLoughlin, Jimeno and Pezzulo manage to escape the huge amounts of dust and rubble flying down from the South Tower. However, as the rubble continues to crush the elevator shaft, the three are trapped. As the cascade of debris subsides, Pezzulo realizes he can free himself and manages to move nearer to Jimeno who, along with McLoughlin, is pinned under rubble and cannot move. Pezzulo tries but fails to shift the debris covering Jimeno's legs and is instructed by McLoughlin not to leave.
As Pezzulo becomes optimistic that they will live, the rumbling begins again as the North Tower starts to collapse. Although Jimeno and McLoughlin are not further harmed, Pezzulo is fatally injured when a concrete slab falls into the hole, crushing his torso. After he fires a gun through a gap in the rubble to try to alert rescuers to their position, he dies. Jimeno and McLoughlin spend hours under the rubble, in pain but exchanging stories about their lives and families. McLoughlin is particularly anxious to keep Jimeno from falling asleep and Jimeno also realizes that by straining to grab a metal bar above his body, he can make a noise that rescuers might hear. Two United States Marines, Dave Karnes and Jason Thomas, who are searching for survivors, do hear it and find the men, calling for help to dig them out. Jimeno is rescued first, and then hours later McLoughlin is lifted out of the debris, barely alive and in critical condition. They are then both reunited with their distraught families at the hospital. Two years after the attacks, McLoughlin and Jimeno attend a barbecue with their families: McLoughlin's wife Donna, Jimeno's wife Allison, daughter Bianca, and their newest addition Olivia.
The epilogue states that John and Will were two of the 20 people pulled out alive and are now retired from active duty. Dave Karnes re-enlisted in the Marines.

National September 11 Memorial & Museum
The National September 11 Memorial & Museum (known separately as the 9/11 Memorial and 9/11 Memorial Museum) are the principal memorial and museum, respectively. They commemorate the September 11, 2001, attacks, which killed 2,977 victims, and the World Trade Center bombing of 1993, which killed six. The memorial is located at the World Trade Center site, the former location of the Twin Towers, which were destroyed during the September 11 attacks. It is operated by a non-profit corporation whose mission is to raise funds for, program, own, and operate the memorial and museum at the World Trade Center site.
A memorial was planned in the immediate aftermath of the attacks and destruction of the World Trade Center for the victims including those involved in rescue operations. The winner of the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition was Israeli architect Michael Arad of Handel Architects, a New York- and San Francisco-based firm. Arad worked with landscape-architecture firm Peter Walker and Partners on the design, a forest of trees with two square pools in the center where the Twin Towers stood. In August 2006, the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey began heavy construction on the memorial and museum. The design is consistent with the original Daniel Libeskind master plan, which called for the memorial to be 30 feet (9.1 m) below street level—originally 70 feet (21 m)—in a plaza, and was the only finalist to disregard Libeskind's requirement that the buildings overhang the footprints of the Twin Towers. The World Trade Center Memorial Foundation was renamed the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in 2007.

People Falling from the World Trade Center
Viewer discretion is strongly advised due to graphic contents. On the morning of September 11th 2001 almost 3,000 innocent people were murdered by Al Qaeda terrorists. As many as 200 people jumped / fell to their deaths from their burning offices on the uppermost floors of the 110-storey twin towers of the World Trade Center before both towers collapsed. They symbolize the true horror of that day as well as the desperate conditions inside the towers. Intense heat and suffocating smoke pushed people to break their office windows to get some fresh air. People fell one after the other, in pairs, and in groups at a time. Since that tragic day, images/footages of these victims were kept away from the public which, I believe, is disrespectful. On September 11, 2001, Port Authority Police officers John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno are patrolling the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan when they see a plane fly dangerously low overhead. As all of the police officers return to the station, they see on TV that the North Tower of the World Trade Center has been hit by the plane. Sergeant McLoughlin assigns many of the officers to assist in a precautionary evacuation attempt of the North Tower and they board a Metropolitan Transit Authority bus. On the bus, they hear reports that the South Tower is also hit by another plane. On September 11, 2001, Port Authority Police officers John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno are patrolling the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan when they see a plane fly dangerously low overhead. As all of the police officers return to the station, they see on TV that the North Tower of the World Trade Center has been hit by the plane. Sergeant McLoughlin assigns many of the officers to assist in a precautionary evacuation attempt of the North Tower and they board a Metropolitan Transit Authority bus. On the bus, they hear reports that the South Tower is also hit by another plane. When they arrive at the World Trade Center, they realize the extent of the disaster, and see one of the victims jump out of the towers to certain death. The men proceed to get safety equipment from Building 5 and enter the concourse between the towers.
The group consists of McLoughlin, Jimeno, Dominick Pezzulo and Antonio Rodrigues. Officer Christopher Amoroso appears to inform them of other events, such as the attack on the Pentagon, the second plane's hit on the South Tower and an attack on Israel though the group does not accept any of these as true. As the men prepare to enter the North Tower, the buildings begin to rumble. McLoughlin realizes that the South Tower is collapsing onto them and that their only chance of survival is to run into the service elevator shaft. Amoroso trips and does not have time to get up, and Rodrigues is unable to get to the shaft in time, resulting in both deaths. McLoughlin, Jimeno and Pezzulo manage to escape the huge amounts of dust and rubble flying down from the South Tower. However, as the rubble continues to crush the elevator shaft, the three are trapped. As the cascade of debris subsides, Pezzulo realizes he can free himself and manages to move nearer to Jimeno who, along with McLoughlin, is pinned under rubble and cannot move. Pezzulo tries but fails to shift the debris covering Jimeno's legs and is instructed by McLoughlin not to leave.
As Pezzulo becomes optimistic that they will live, the rumbling begins again as the North Tower starts to collapse. Although Jimeno and McLoughlin are not further harmed, Pezzulo is fatally injured when a concrete slab falls into the hole, crushing his torso. After he fires a gun through a gap in the rubble to try to alert rescuers to their position, he dies. Jimeno and McLoughlin spend hours under the rubble, in pain but exchanging stories about their lives and families. McLoughlin is particularly anxious to keep Jimeno from falling asleep and Jimeno also realizes that by straining to grab a metal bar above his body, he can make a noise that rescuers might hear. Two United States Marines, Dave Karnes and Jason Thomas, who are searching for survivors, do hear it and find the men, calling for help to dig them out. Jimeno is rescued first, and then hours later McLoughlin is lifted out of the debris, barely alive and in critical condition. They are then both reunited with their distraught families at the hospital. Two years after the attacks, McLoughlin and Jimeno attend a barbecue with their families: McLoughlin's wife Donna, Jimeno's wife Allison, daughter Bianca, and their newest addition Olivia.
The epilogue states that John and Will were two of the 20 people pulled out alive and are now retired from active duty. Dave Karnes re-enlisted in the Marines.

Officer Christopher Amoroso appears to inform them of other events, such as the attack on the Pentagon, the second plane's hit on the South Tower and an attack on Israel though the group does not accept any of these as true. As the men prepare to enter the North Tower, the buildings begin to rumble. McLoughlin realizes that the South Tower is collapsing onto them and that their only chance of survival is to run into the service elevator shaft. Amoroso trips and does not have time to get up, and Rodrigues is unable to get to the shaft in time, resulting in both deaths. McLoughlin, Jimeno and Pezzulo manage to escape the huge amounts of dust and rubble flying down from the South Tower. However, as the rubble continues to crush the elevator shaft, the three are trapped. As the cascade of debris subsides, Pezzulo realizes he can free himself and manages to move nearer to Jimeno who, along with McLoughlin, is pinned under rubble and cannot move. Pezzulo tries but fails to shift the debris covering Jimeno's legs and is instructed by McLoughlin not to leave.
As Pezzulo becomes optimistic that they will live, the rumbling begins again as the North Tower starts to collapse. Although Jimeno and McLoughlin are not further harmed, Pezzulo is fatally injured when a concrete slab falls into the hole, crushing his torso. After he fires a gun through a gap in the rubble to try to alert rescuers to their position, he dies. Jimeno and McLoughlin spend hours under the rubble, in pain but exchanging stories about their lives and families. McLoughlin is particularly anxious to keep Jimeno from falling asleep and Jimeno also realizes that by straining to grab a metal bar above his body, he can make a noise that rescuers might hear. Two United States Marines, Dave Karnes and Jason Thomas, who are searching for survivors, do hear it and find the men, calling for help to dig them out. Jimeno is rescued first, and then hours later McLoughlin is lifted out of the debris, barely alive and in critical condition. They are then both reunited with their distraught families at the hospital. Two years after the attacks, McLoughlin and Jimeno attend a barbecue with their families: McLoughlin's wife Donna, Jimeno's wife Allison, daughter Bianca, and their newest addition Olivia.
The epilogue states that John and Will were two of the 20 people pulled out alive and are now retired from active duty. Dave Karnes re-enlisted in the Marines.

The museum and "Reflecting Absence" pools honor the memory of those killed and those who survived the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. We started our visit to the Memorial and Museum at Battery Park where the World Trade Center Sphere and eternal flame are located. As we headed to Memorial Plaza, you start to notice the signs of a city rebuilding and healing. You will see the names of all the people that perished on that tragic day. You can also see the "Survivor Tree" that stands as a symbol of resilience, survival and rebirth.
The 9/11 Memorial Museum is full of artifacts, images, oral histories and videos. We found the museum fascinating, moving, and educational. The oral accounts and videos were very emotional. The entire family enjoyed the visit. We literally spent hours walking through the exhibit, listening, and watching. Over one million people have visited the museum since its opening seven months ago. We think it's worth a visit. You can get tickets online, even for free admission Tuesdays.

You will see the names of all the people that perished on that tragic day. You can also see the "Survivor Tree" that stands as a symbol of resilience, survival and rebirth.
The 9/11 Memorial Museum is full of artifacts, images, oral histories and videos. We found the museum fascinating, moving, and educational. The oral accounts and videos were very emotional. The entire family enjoyed the visit. We literally spent hours walking through the exhibit, listening, and watching. Over one million people have visited the museum since its opening seven months ago. We think it's worth a visit. You can get tickets online, even for free admission Tuesdays.

The design was the only finalist to throw out Libeskind's requirement that buildings overhang the footprints.
A memorial was planned in the immediate aftermath of the attacks and destruction of the World Trade Center to remember both the victims and those involved in rescue. The National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center is a non-profit corporation with the mission to raise funds for, program, own and operate the memorial and museum at the World Trade Center site. On September 11, 2011, a dedication ceremony was held at the memorial, commemorating the tenth anniversary of the attacks. Three months after opening, the memorial had been seen by over 1 million visitors. This is unbelievable but it was confirm through solid facts and eyewitness testimony.
Just hours before the 911 memorial, multiple people, including Ben Strurner is NBC news reported a beautiful rainbow reflecting off the wall of the World Trade Center.
Actually, Mr. Struner, CEO of sports marketing company Leverage Agency at NBC, was among the first to take a photo of the rainbow phenomenon. Sturner, who moved to New York from North Carolina 12 years ago, said he snapped the picture from the terrace of his apartment in Long Island City, on Thursday morning.
"I see this rainbow, and it's coming from the World Trade Center and it's the most gorgeous rainbow I've ever seen," he said. "I took out my phone and started snapping photos."
Sturner soon received a flood of thank yous from other Americans from across the country.
One person wrote Sturner, and said "The message: let this rainbow be a sign of peace, strength and forgiveness. They are all angels, resting in peace.”
What Sturner really snapped a picture of was the angels touching down on ground zero before Hillary Clinton arrived.

Interestingly, we only need to look in three places in the Bible to discover the meaning of a rainbow and what certain colors mean.

Cal Expo's 9/11 Memorial is the largest on the west coast. It is a permanent exhibit on the Cal Expo Fairgrounds and has been visited by thousands of people during the California State Fair. The Memorial features a 125,000 pound steel beam from the North Tower of the World Trade Center, pieces from a WTC Building 7 parking structure, a reflection of the WTC, memorials to the Pentagon attack and Flight 93, a granite fountain and sphere inscribed with all the names of the victims of 9/11, as well as a carillon bell tower.

The Cincinnati Bengals are in New York City ahead of their season kick-off game against the Jets, but took some time Saturday to visit Ground Zero.
Marvin Lewis wanted to bring his team there to see the memorial, not only to pay tribute to those who lost their lives, but also to see how the city rebuilt.
"You know you kind of get some mixed emotions here, it's cool to see the new World Trade Center building," Tyler Eifert said. "It's a beautiful building, it's just amazing to see this and how big it was, but I think the neatest part is the survivor tree that survived everything."
"I'm appreciative, you know, just looking at all the names there," Vinny Rey said. "You know it's my first time back here. I've been before like when the towers were up, just coming here on school trips as a little kid, but I'm appreciative for all that was done for the memorial for the World Trade Center."

A test run of the annual "Tribute in Light" display, commemorating the anniversary of the September 11th attacks, drew crowds to the Brooklyn waterfront Saturday. In rememberance of the fallen heros of 9/11, on Sunday, September 9th, the Friars of the Atonement and the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company held a prayer service at Graymoor's World Trade Center Memorial Cross in the St. Jude Prayer and Meditation Garden. Billy Mazucca was the primary speaker at the service. He reminded all those present to remember the fallen and all those affected by the tragic events of 9/11, as well as those that continue to put themselves in harms way on a daily basis. In addition, representatives of the Garrison Volunteer Ambulance Corp. and the Ladies Auxiliary, along with Friars of the Atonement participated in the event.

The Tribute in Light began as a temporary installation in 2002 to honor the fallen at the World Trade Center site, and has continued as an annual tradition on the anniversary.
When the towers fell 10 years ago, Brooklyn Heights resident Roberta Weisbrod could barely stand to walk along the promenade, but the annual "Tribute in Light" brings her back and comforts her.
"It's moving, its beautiful, we look forward to it, its something very special," Weisbrod said.
People got to see a small preview of the tribute Saturday night. Crews have been prepping for the past 10 days, setting up 88 lights that can be seen from as far as 60 miles away.
"People make it what they want it to be for themselves and so it can be a remembrance, it can be a commemoration, it can be mourning, I know that lots of people as time go by find it comforting," said "Tribute in Light" Producer Michael Ahern.
The tribute will be in full effect at dusk on Sunday, September 11, and will stay on until dawn Monday morning.
"This right here makes me think of how it goes up to heaven and how it joins the people down here and the people who died on 9/11 and it joins them together and I think it just respects everyone who was part of 9/11," said one onlooker.
"It's a tribute and a reminder don't forget and I think the beauty behind it is you don't want to forget all those lives that were lost," said another.
The tribute is presented by the Municipal Art Society. But officials there say the funding runs out after this year's remembrance. Onlookers who spoke with NY1 say the lights are worth keeping for many years to come.
"This has got to be one of the more moving tributes I think. Obviously been going on since sort of the towers collapsed and I think it would be a shame if they didn't find a way to incorporate it into the permanent memorial," said one onlooker.

This story makes us live within the physical transformation of a place that bereaved families would like to see as a sacred place to pray.
If ten years after the deadly attacks of September 11, life is slowly returning to Ground Zero where the future is built "One World Trade Center," return on laborious years since the fateful day until the end of May 2002. It took almost a year to clean the hundreds of thousands of tons of concrete and steel site. This story makes us live within the physical transformation of a place that bereaved families would like to see as a sacred place to pray.

One World Trade Center became the tallest structure in New York City on April 30, 2012, when it surpassed the height of the Empire State Building. The tower's steel structure was topped out on August 30, 2012. On May 10, 2013, the final component of the skyscraper's spire was installed, making the building, including its spire, reach a total height of 1,776 feet (541 m). Its height in feet is a deliberate reference to the year when the United States Declaration of Independence was signed. The building opened on November 3, 2014.
On March 30, 2009, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) confirmed that the building would be officially known by its legal name of "One World Trade Center", rather than its colloquial name of "Freedom Tower". The building is 104 standard floors high, but the tower has only 94 actual stories.
The new World Trade Center complex will eventually include five high-rise office buildings built along Greenwich Street, as well as the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, located just south of One World Trade Center where the original Twin Towers stood.
