Dear friends, if we could attain peace on Earth this Christmas season, then that would indeed be something to rejoice over. But as we look around, we see little evidence of peace on Earth. Instead we see strife, and discord, and conflict, and dissension. Our pundit friends often miss the real meaning of Christmas, because they skip over the heart of the angel’s message. The angel said: Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people, for unto to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord. And why should this be the subject of our rejoicing? Cur Deus Homo? Saturday, December 19, 2015 What is the greatest miracle in all of human history? Some might say that is a matter of opinion. But with even the briefest of reflection we can see that one miracle stands apart from all others. It is the miracle of the Incarnation, where God who created the entire universe, and was Himself separate from it, decided, for His glory and for our good to become part of it. He chose to be born as a helpless babe, the child of a very young Jewish maiden. As the prophet tells it: For unto us a child is born and unto us a Son is given. And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. That is the greatest miracle in all of human history, a miracle so unexpected, so astonishing that it begs a profound question: Why did He do it? James Kennedy (D. James Kennedy, Ph.D.) remains one of the most listened-to Christian ministers in America.
