Crimson Moon is the 21st album by Scottish folk musician Bert Jansch, released in 2000.
All songs written and composed by Bert Jansch except as noted.
Crimson is a strong, red color, inclining to purple. It originally meant the color of the kermes dye produced from a scale insect, Kermes vermilio, but the name is now sometimes also used as a generic term for slightly bluish-red colors that are between red and rose.
Crimson (NR4) is produced using the dried bodies of the kermes insect, which were gathered commercially in Mediterranean countries, where they live on the kermes oak, and sold throughout Europe. Kermes dyes have been found in burial wrappings in Anglo-Scandinavian York. They fell out of use with the introduction of cochineal, because although the dyes were comparable in quality and color intensity it needed ten to twelve times as much kermes to produce the same effect as cochineal.
Carmine is the name given to the dye made from the dried bodies of the female cochineal, although the name crimson is sometimes applied to these dyes too. Cochineal appears to have been brought to Europe during the conquest of Mexico by the Spaniard Hernán Cortés, and the name 'carmine' is derived from the French carmin. It was first described by Mathioli in 1549. The pigment is also called cochineal after the insect from which it is made.
The Moon (in Greek: σελήνη Selene, in Latin: Luna) is Earth's only natural satellite. It is one of the largest natural satellites in the Solar System, and, among planetary satellites, the largest relative to the size of the planet it orbits (its primary). It is the second-densest satellite among those whose densities are known (after Jupiter's satellite Io).
The Moon is thought to have formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago, not long after Earth. There are several hypotheses for its origin; the most widely accepted explanation is that the Moon formed from the debris left over after a giant impact between Earth and a Mars-sized body called Theia.
The Moon is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face with its near side marked by dark volcanic maria that fill between the bright ancient crustal highlands and the prominent impact craters. It is the second-brightest regularly visible celestial object in Earth's sky after the Sun, as measured by illuminance on Earth's surface. Although it can appear a very bright white, its surface is actually dark, with a reflectance just slightly higher than that of worn asphalt. Its prominence in the sky and its regular cycle of phases have, since ancient times, made the Moon an important cultural influence on language, calendars, art, and mythology.
A full moon is the lunar phase that occurs when the Moon is completely illuminated as seen from the Earth. This occurs when the moon is in opposition to the Sun (when it is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun; more precisely, when the ecliptic longitudes of the Sun and Moon differ by 180 degrees). This means that the hemisphere of the Moon that is facing the Earth (the near side) is almost fully illuminated by the Sun and appears round (while the far side is almost completely unilluminated).
Lunar eclipses can occur only at full moon, where the Moon's orbit allows it to pass through the Earth's shadow. Lunar eclipses do not occur every month because the Moon usually passes above or below the Earth's shadow (which is mostly restricted to the ecliptic plane). Lunar eclipses can occur only when the full moon occurs near the two nodes of the orbit, either the ascending or descending node. This causes eclipses to only occur about every 6 months, and often 2 weeks before or after a solar eclipse at new moon at the opposite node.
The Harvard Crimson, the daily student newspaper of Harvard University, was founded in 1873. It is the only daily newspaper in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is run entirely by Harvard College undergraduates. Many Crimson alumni have gone on to careers in journalism, and some have won Pulitzer Prizes.
Any student who volunteers and completes a series of requirements known as the "comp" is elected an editor of the newspaper. Thus, all staff members of The Crimson—including writers, business staff, photographers, and graphic designers—are technically "editors". (If an editor makes news, he or she is referred to in the paper's news article as a "Crimson editor", which, though important for transparency, also leads to characterizations such as "former President John F. Kennedy '40, who was also a Crimson editor, ended the Cuban Missile Crisis.") Editorial and financial decisions rest in a board of executives, collectively called a "guard", who are chosen for one-year terms each November by the outgoing guard. This process is referred to as the "turkey shoot" or the "shoot". The unsigned opinions of "The Crimson Staff" are decided at tri-weekly meetings that are open to any Crimson editor (except those editors who plan to write or edit a news story on the same topic in the future).

Initially named after ''King Edward'',ANEKDOTEN started in 1990,at a time when progressive rock was on a rise in Scandinavia. After two critically-acclaimed demo tapes they released their first album ''Vemod'' in 1993.This splendid effort was a beautiful vintage journey through the 70's,especially Red-era KING CRIMSON sounds dominate the album.''Vemod'' is an alternating effort of cello work,mellotron-based strings and heavy guitar passages, resulting a fantastic yet obscure and dark atmosphere, which only KING CRIMSON could create. The vocals are clean and nice, the rhythm section is brilliantly tight and the vintage sounds really thrill me.Listed among the best modern prog bands,ANEKDOTEN deserve your fully attention at any cost.Highly recommended! Deren makes a return on the channel with the fourth part of his seasonal chillout mixes! For this one he went for a more moody approach by choosing such atmospheric chillstep and chillout tunes and adding some rain throughout the mix :) In my opinion this is one of his better mixes if not the best as the selection is top notch as usual and his mixing skills have greatly improved over the year. Be sure to subscribe to Deren's channel for more chillout mixes like this one and if you like, you can go through all his seasonal mixes as there is now one for each season (link below). The link between (Japanese) jazz fusion and the music of nearly every game released pre-1995 has been pointed out quite a lot in the comment section of this channel before. Realm of mind embraces that connection and throws together the music of games (chiptune) and that which inspired it in the first place. (jazz) The result is very interesting to say the least. Enjoy! Their website reads "My Sleeping Karma combines the organic aspect of psychedelic groove rock with emotional shades of aphasian landscapes". This is just really good Space meets Stoner/Psychedelic groove rock of the highest order and with this, the third installment from My Sleeping Karma; the band have produced a Space Rocking album that is going to be hard to beat in the world of Cosmic, Progressive Stoner Rock. The German four-piece's instrumental spacey excursions have always been enjoyable. This album takes their sound and style to its ultimate level, not only in terms of musicianship but also in the atmosphere the album creates. As with the previous album, guitar player Seppi seems to be the force behind the songs, his guitar approach is organic as well as multi-dimensionally pro...

To seize the Night
Into the Darkness thy spirit wanders through the opaque skies I ride.
Unto the Ancient moon I offer my blood before the graveside.
Carpe Noctem, spirits of the night, from the Veil of AZRAEL.
I gaze upon the grave sight, through soil and withered leaves.
The voices of evoken spirits (of the deceased) speaks to me.
I hear the voices of deceased souls as chants of demons ring... vehemently.
From the Darkness I come.
The cold and dissonant realms I am.
I am the night the calls out.
I am the red eyes that stare.
I am the dark sorcerer of funeral Summonings.
From the Nocturnal winds of Necromancy,
I call forth the dead... may AZRAEL animate the corpse before me.
I consecrate the golem with blood,
I summon the powers of night.
Within thine funerary circle of High Necromancy I commune with shadowed spirits.
I view what once was,
what is and what will come,
through thine darkened circle I gaze through the all seeing eye.
