Fashion designer Michael Sontag and actress Bibiana Beglau have a very special relationship - to simply say that they are close is a misrepresentation of their bond.
Yes - they are of course very close - but there is so much more to their friendship and that was the starting point for the Secret Garden video project.
This short film is an attempt to shed some light on this - looking at them through the lens of filmmaker Per Zennström.
In the film the two protagonists are merging into one - Bibiana is in fact stealing Michael's voice and becoming him - and vice versa.
In an enchanted Berlin ruin the two characters engage in a mysterious cat and mouse game - who is really who ? ... and who is only pretending to be the other one?
The movement of Michael’s designs are a direct result of his unique way of working and being present in the moment - a way of approaching work that he and Bibiana have in common..
Presence and fluidity…
Michael’s work resembles a sculptor more than a painter. He never draws any sketches beforehand - preferring to drape the fabrics directly on his models.
This is perhaps why motion and fluidity are words that constantly pop up when people are talking about his work.
“Fashion designer Michael Sontag doesn’t sketch, draw or otherwise put his ideas down on paper before getting to work on his designs. Instead he intuitively and very much hands-on starts draping the fabric directly on his model - very much like a sculptor working with steel, glass or stone.
It’s his hands that are doing the work, manipulating the raw materials. The shapes are born directly from underneath his hands moving over a body and it’s this approach that leads to the fluidity, intimacy and movement of his pieces.”

Bibiana Beglau (born 16 July 1971 in Braunschweig, Lower Saxony) is a German actress.
Bibiana Beglau began appearing on the stages of German-speaking theater immediately upon graduating from the Hamburg Hochschule for Music and Theater. Since the beginning of her career, she has worked with the directors responsible for transforming contemporary German theater and cinema. She performed regularly under the direction of Christoph Marthaler, Einar Schleef, Frank Castorf and Luk Perceval before winning national and international acclaim for her leading role in Volker Schlöndorff’s feature film The Legend of Rita.
Bibiana Beglau has been the recipient of many awards and commended as an actress for her outstanding performances, including the Berlinale Silver Bear for best actress, the Ulrich Wildgruber Prize and the Adolf Grimme Prize. Alongside theatrical engagements at all of the important German-speaking theaters including the Vienna Burgtheater, Schauspielhaus Zurich, Schaubühne Berlin or the Thalia Theater Hamburg, Bibiana Beglau has performed in many film and television productions including The Murderer and His Child, The Ninth Day, 3 Degrees Colder and Under the Ice.

The movement of Michael’s designs are a direct result of his unique way of working and being present in the moment - a way of approaching work that he and Bibiana have in common..
Presence and fluidity…
Michael’s work resembles a sculptor more than a painter. He never draws any sketches beforehand - preferring to drape the fabrics directly on his models.
This is perhaps why motion and fluidity are words that constantly pop up when people are talking about his work.
“Fashion designer Michael Sontag doesn’t sketch, draw or otherwise put his ideas down on paper before getting to work on his designs. Instead he intuitively and very much hands-on starts draping the fabric directly on his model - very much like a sculptor working with steel, glass or stone.
It’s his hands that are doing the work, manipulating the raw materials. The shapes are born directly from underneath his hands moving over a body and it’s this approach that leads to the fluidity, intimacy and movement of his pieces.”

Michael’s work resembles a sculptor more than a painter. He never draws any sketches beforehand - preferring to drape the fabrics directly on his models.
This is perhaps why motion and fluidity are words that constantly pop up when people are talking about his work.

Fashion designer Michael Sontag and actress Bibiana Beglau have a very special relationship - to simply say that they are close is a misrepresentation of their bond.
Yes - they are of course very close - but there is so much more to their friendship and that was the starting point for the Secret Garden video project.
This short film is an attempt to shed some light on this - looking at them through the lens of filmmaker Per Zennström.
In the film the two protagonists are merging into one - Bibiana is in fact stealing Michael's voice and becoming him - and vice versa.
In an enchanted Berlin ruin the two characters engage in a mysterious cat and mouse game - who is really who ? ... and who is only pretending to be the other one?

Da taucht die – vermeintlich tote – Agentin plötzlich wieder unter den Lebenden auf, als sie ein Mädchen, das Selbstmord begehen will, aus dem Rhein rettet. Welche Rolle spielt die rätselhafte Karo Schmidt?
Die beiden erfahrenen Ermittler Freddy Schenk und Max Ballauf begreifen schnell, dass sie es im Fall „Verrat“ nicht bloß mit einem einfachen Gewaltdelikt zu tun haben. Bis in das Auswärtige Amt reichen die Spuren, denen sie nun nachgehen. Dabei gibt es mehrere Personen, die ein Motiv gehabt haben könnten, den Diplomaten zu ermorden oder ermorden zu lassen. Die Kommissare finden sich schließlich in einem nahezu undurchdringbaren Netz aus Verrat, Betrug und Erpressung wieder.
Wären die kriminalistischen Untersuchungen nicht bereits schwierig genug, so haben die Kölner Kommissare auch in ihrem Privatleben mit Hindernissen zu kämpfen: Freddy Schenk hat kein Dach über dem Kopf, denn seine Frau hat ihn vor die Tür gesetzt. Entsprechend schlecht gelaunt und gereizt ist der Fahnder. Indessen droht die Sekretärin im Präsidium, Franziska, auf einen Heiratsschwindler hereinzufallen – Ballauf und Schenk machen sich große Sorgen um ihre Kollegin.

TV-Beziehungskomödie mit Stefanie Stappenbeck und Matthias Koeberlin.
Die Welt retten, Ärztin werden - ihr Kindheitstraum. Dann kam das Leben dazwischen. Heute ist Marie (Stappenbeck) Sprechstundenhilfe und führt mit Markus (Koeberlin) und zwei Kids das Normalo-Spießerleben in Siegen. In den Alltag platzt eine Einladung ihrer fast vergessenen Schulfreundin. Opa übernimmt die Kinder, Marie reist mit Markus hin - und staunt: Heike (Christina Hecke) hat das große Los gezogen und lebt mit einem Traummann (Götz Otto) in einem Traumhaus am See. Das Wochenende wird zur harten Prüfung für die Ehe von Marie und Markus… Das Problem: die Dialoge sind aufdringlich zeitgeistig, treffen aber selten den richtigen Ton und erinnern an banale Lifestyle-Glücksratgeber. Die Kurve zu einer größeren Ernsthaftigkeit kriegt die seichte Inszenierung dann gegen Ende nicht mehr hin.

Als auch in Deutschland Aids ausbricht, gerät das bei "Sonne" gewonnene Blutgerinnungspräparat in den Verdacht, mit HI-Viren verunreinigt zu sein. Siedler verteidigt öffentlich seinen Arbeitgeber, muss dann aber erfahren: Durch die Infusionen hat er sich selbst mit Aids infiziert… Eva und Volker A. Zahn (Grimme-Preis für "Ihr könnt euch niemals sicher sein") schrieben ein starkes Drehbuch über den komplexen Bluterskandal.

Das Heer der Ein-Euro-Kräfte und Mini-Jobber wächst. Fast eine Million Leiharbeiter bekommen oft deutlich weniger als ihre festangestellten Kollegen.
Viele sind "Aufstocker". Die Arbeitswelten driften auseinander. Ganz unten: die Schattenwelt der Saisonarbeiter und Illegalen. Ob der viel diskutierte Mindestlohn diese Missstände beheben wird, bleibt fraglich. Zu viele verdienen daran mit, wenn Menschen billig schuften.

Dieses Mal haben wir Daniel Küblböck getroffen und mit ihm über seine aktuellen Projekte und Zukunftsvisionen zu sprechen - natürlich spielten auch Anekdoten der Vergangenheit eine Rolle. Außerdem ging es mit Christina und Oliver zum Varieté Spotlight - zugunsten der Aktion Kindertraum. Neben Geschichten aus dem Hannover - Musical "Kröpcke", wurde ein vielfältigen Programm aus Magie, Tanz und tierischem Spaß geboten. Wir haben unter anderem mit Gerrit Weise, Glenn und Jutta Gaßmann gesprochen. Es war ein wunderschöner Abend für einen wirklich guten Zweck. Den spannenden Kick gab es beim Internationalen Filmfestival Hannover. Hier wurden Nachwuchstalente aus den Bereichen Regie, Drehbuch und Schauspiel von einer Fachjury beurteilt. Das „Up and Coming" fand zum 12. Mal in Hannover statt und präsentierte Vielfältigkeit pur!
