Laura Beatrice Marling (born 1 February 1990) is an English folk singer-songwriter and musician from Eversley, Hampshire. Her debut album Alas, I Cannot Swim, her second album I Speak Because I Can, and her fourth album Once I Was An Eagle were all nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2008, 2010, and 2013, respectively. She won the Brit Award for Best British Female Solo Artist at the 2011 Brit Awards, and was nominated for the same award at the 2012, 2014 and 2016 Brit Awards. She has been recognised as one of the leading songwriters of her generation, and generations before.
The youngest of three daughters, Marling was born in Berkshire, England, and learned guitar at an early age. Her father, Sir Charles William Somerset Marling, the 5th Marling Baronet, ran a recording studio, introduced her to folk music and shaped her musical taste, an experience that Marling later described as, "a bit of a blessing and a bit of a curse....[because] I couldn’t slot myself into the age-appropriate genre".

An eye witness describes the first plane that hit to WNYC host Mark Hilan. He was describing it as a commercial, American Airlines plane, while other media were still describing it as a likely twin-engine aircraft. Charlie Hynes, who worked for the station's underwriting department, described the situation: "I was shocked at how low the airplane was flying. The wings were waggling. I saw the airliner, it appeared to be an American Airlines plane...Moments later we heard a rather large explosion." http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:5833819/sounds.rss Source http://www.wnyc.org/story/157720-2-wnyc-911/

Laura Marling performs "Don't Ask Me Why / Salinas" live for http://www.sideshowalley.tv ABOUT THIS EPISODE When it was announced earlier this year Laura Marling would be playing at the Forum Theatre in support of her third album "A Creature I Don't Know", the opportunity to juxtapose this much loved english folk singer with the grit and rawness of an iconic Melbourne lane way was something we were suitably excited about. Home to both a top end spanish restaurant and health centre for the homeless, Hosier lane is arguably Melbourne's most famous lane way. Once adorned with a Bansky rat, this iconic bluestone lane is an ever changing gallery of sophisticated street art. Being hospitable tour guides, we met Laura at the Forum stage door; just a short walk through the lane way to our shoot...

The soft-spoken arrogance of the NPR clique has reached new levels of crazy. Just try to get through this entire show. As a whole, it's extremely insightful as to what we're dealing with. It begins with Alex Jones and Paul Joseph Watson sound bites about Hillary's health and an interview with some psychology prick about the supposed dangers to our collective mental health stemming from "Trumpism". Then there's a story that states that "there's no denying" that "climate change" is the cause of all the weather-related catastrophes in the current year. And the final piece is about the Olympics having trouble defining what a "woman" athlete is in order to let some particular human participate in "women's" event. If they can't figure that out, then just have all "humans" (if you can defin...

Since this is NYC, it was actually a "Sitting in my car waiting for alternate side parking to be over moment" In addition the pleasure of listening to Brian Lehrer interview David Frum, who articulately bashed the Trump campaign for embarrassingly poor management of the Republican convention in Cleveland. Fascinating interview. In parallel, I kept my visual cortext stimulated by playing Pokémon Go, caught a bunch of cute and valuable pokemon, checked on the Pokémon Eggs I am working on hatching, and viewed the hulking huge pokemon that inhabit some of the nearby Pokémon Gyms.

Vivere senza te é stata una pazzia
e quando non ci sei la testa mi va via
so bene dove vai ed ho fiducia in te
tu lontano ce la fai io no
facciamo i nostri sbagli come gli altri perché no
ti sto pensando a nient'altro c'é
