Hotel California (2008 film)

Hotel California is a 2008 film that follows three professional criminals in Los Angeles.

Plot

The film follows Troy (Erik Palladino) as he returns to Los Angeles from Miami to meet with his former partners: Al (Tyson Beckford) and Pete (Simon Rex), whom Troy betrayed years before. Naturally they are dismayed to see him and call their boss, infamous crime syndicate leader Dmitri (Raymond J. Barry) to inform them that Troy has returned. The three of them, along with Troy's former love Jessie (Tatyana Ali) attempt to exact their revenge, while Troy tries to convince them that he is not the man he was before. He also has a brand new and devious plan for his former partners to get involved in.

Production

It was produced by Alliance Group Entertainment. The movie was filmed throughout Los Angeles in early 2007 and is directed by first time director Geo Santini. During filming in Los Angeles, the LAPD mistook the actors' prop weapons for actual weapons, and placed actor Erik Palladino and members of the crew in handcuffs until the producers were able to resolve the situation.

The 2009 Spanish Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on May 10, 2009 at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. It was the fifth race of the 2009 Formula One season.

It resulted in a one-two finish by Brawn GP drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, respectively.

Background

Brawn GP driver Jenson Button led the Drivers Championship by 12 points from team-mate Rubens Barrichello, who was a further point ahead of Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull. The top six drivers were from the top three teams of Brawn, Red Bull and Toyota.

Brawn GP led the Constructors' Championship by 22.5 points from Red Bull, who led Toyota by another point. McLaren were the only other team to reach double figures, having scored thirteen points.

The 2009 Spanish Grand Prix was widely anticipated as a restart to the season, with most teams bringing new developments to their cars. Brawn GP made their first upgrades to the BGP 001 in an attempt to remain at the front, whilst Ferrari introduced a new two-tier diffuser to the Ferrari F60, and reduced the weight of Kimi Räikkönen's car. Ferrari also ran KERS on both their cars, despite having reliability problems with it at previous races. Having run KERS on Nick Heidfeld's car for the first four races, and Robert Kubica's car in Bahrain, BMW Sauber raced without the system in Spain. This was due to a significant aerodynamic update to the F1.09 and the need to get the best out of it, which is limited with KERS' weight disadvantage. BMW's aerodynamic update included a new nose, front wing, revised sidepods, a new rear wing and an overall lightening of the chassis. In addition, BMW decided not to introduce a two-tier diffuser in Spain, claiming they would not have been able to exploit the performance benefit it gives.Force India also abandoned plans to run KERS to instead focus on aerodynamic developments, but may run the system later in the year according to team principal Vijay Mallya.

España 2000

España 2000 (E-2000) is a far-right social patriot political party in Spain. At present they are without parliamentary representation.

The French Front National assisted and supported the party at its national congress.

Ideology

There are political parties with relatively similar ideology in Spain such as FE-La Falange, Fuerza Nueva, Arbil, Democracia Nacional and the more moderate national Catholic Partido Demócrata Español. España 2000 advocates a mixture of socialism and conservatism centering on the defense of the traditional family, tighter control of Spanish borders to prevent illegal immigration, creation of a public banking system, more social spendings, better salaries and labor conditions for the working class, fight against economic and real state speculation, abolition of the D'Hondt method and establishment of a more democratic voting system, more investment in the police and military as well as in public education and protected housing, priority for native Spaniards to gain access to jobs, and the immediate expulsion of illegal immigrants. They share some values set forth by the Vatican with most of the conservative parties in Latin Europe, like Partido Popular in Spain or Popolo della Libertà in Italy.

1982 FIFA World Cup

The 1982 FIFA World Cup, the 12th FIFA World Cup, was held in Spain from 13 June to 11 July 1982.

The tournament was won by Italy, after defeating West Germany 3–1 in the final in the Spanish capital of Madrid. It was Italy's third World Cup win and first since 1938. The holders Argentina were eliminated in the second group round. Algeria, Cameroon, Honduras, Kuwait and New Zealand made their first appearances in the finals.

The tournament featured two of the greatest matches in World Cup history: Italy's sensational win over Brazil in a second round game and West Germany's semi-final defeat of France via the first ever penalty shoot-out in World Cup competition.

In the first round of Group 3, Hungary defeated El Salvador 10–1, equalling the largest margin of victory ever recorded in the finals (Hungary over South Korea 9–0 in 1954, and Yugoslavia over Zaire 9–0 in 1974).

Host selection

Spain was chosen as the host nation by FIFA in London, England on 6 July 1966. Hosting rights for the 1974 and 1978 tournaments were awarded at the same time. West Germany agreed a deal with Spain by which Spain would support West Germany for the 1974 tournament, and in return West Germany would allow Spain to bid for the 1982 World Cup unopposed.
