The term Hispanic (Spanish: hispano, hispánico Galician: hispánico, Basque: hispaniar, Catalan: hispàhispàno) broadly refers to the peoples, nations, and cultures that have a historical link to Spain. It commonly applies to countries once colonized by Spain, particularly the countries of Latin America. It could be argued that the term should apply to all Spanish-speaking cultures or countries, as the historical roots of the word specifically pertain to the Iberian region. It is difficult to label a nation or culture with one term, such as Hispanic, as the ethnicities, customs, traditions, and art forms (music, literature, dress, architecture, cuisine, and others) vary greatly by country and region. The Spanish language and Spanish culture are the main traditions.
Hispanic originally referred to the people of ancient Roman Hispania, which roughly comprised the Iberian Peninsula including the contemporary states of Spain, Portugal, Andorra and the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar.

What's the difference between the terms 'Latino' and 'Hispanic? Most people use these words interchangeably, but there is actually a difference. I try to tackle this difficult and complex topic, but looking at the origin and different uses of the words. I also attempt to define where actually Latin America is. Something that, like so many things, does not have a clear definition. Music: No Frills Cumbia - Kevin MacLeod (http://incompetech.com/music/)

Are Hispanic and Latino racial categories? Well, according the US Census they're not. And with good reason! Just like the US, Latin America has an incredibly complex racial history and latinx in America represent this highly varied background. 100% Fed Up attended the Trump rally in West Palm Beach, FL on October 13, 2016. It was the most diverse crowd of fed up Americans that we've ever seen supporting a Republican candidate. Trump's message of jobs and prosperity for ALL Americans is resonating with everyone. Watch this legal immigrant from Panama (who previously voted for Obama) tell why he is supporting Trump, and how he has been treated by racist Hillary supporters who are guilty of "profiling" minority Americans.

While in line at the cashier of an IHOP restaurant, this hispanic woman got accosted by a racist lady who didn't appreciate the fact that she was speaking Spanish while in America. The lady then suggested that if she wants to speak Spanish she should go back to Spain, which was then followed by a series of nonsense proclamations about fascism and Nazis. According to the 2010 census, the number of American Hispanics grew 43% in the last decade to over 50 million. By 2050, Hispanics are projected to number 132 million and represent 30% of the population. As that population evolves, so does their political power. A new report by the Pew Hispanic Center shows that since 2008, America's Latino voting population has grown 22% since 2008. But what are the cultural and political implications of these now well-understood statistics? Bill goes beyond the numbers with two of our nation's most popular and influential journalists: Univision's Jorge Ramos and María Elena Salinas. A Spanish-language U.S. television network, Univision has the largest audience of Spanish-language television viewers, according to Nielsen ratings. Ramos, says The Washingt...
