Janus (album)

Janus is the first studio album released by Boyfriend. The album was released physically on November 8 and online on November 13, 2012 by Starship Entertainment and their distributing label LOEN Entertainment.

Music videos

The music video for "Janus" was released on November 8, 2012. Their second music video "I Yah" which stars child actress Kim So-hyun, was released on January 10, 2013

Commercial performance

Janus debuted at number two on the Gaon Album Chart in South Korea for the week of November 11, 2012. As of January 2013, the album has sold 32,205 copies in South Korea and 2,853 in Japan. Its reissue, I Yah, has sold 24,675 copies in South Korea and 3,670 in Japan as of 2013.

H.O.T. (band)

H.O.T. (Hangul: 에이치오티) was a popular five-member South Korean boy band in the mid to late 1990s. They were formed by SM Entertainment in 1996 and disbanded in 2001. In addition to South Korea, the band was popular in Taiwan, People's Republic of China and Korean and Asian communities in Americas. H.O.T. was the first group to have an album become a "million seller" in K-pop, even though there was a financial crisis in South Korea at the time.

Often credited as one of the first K-pop boy bands and the forerunners of the "idol group" trend in the Korean music industry, H.O.T. successfully turned mainstream Korean music into music for the younger generation. Made up of five teenagers at the time of their debut, they were formed to specifically target teenagers, hence their name "High-five Of Teenagers".

History

H.O.T. was formed by producer Lee Soo-man, the head of SM Entertainment, in 1996. Their music comprises a mixture of rap, ballads, dance, and later Rock. Singer Kangta provided most of the ballad vocals.

Countdown

A countdown is a sequence of backward counting to indicate the time remaining before an event is scheduled to occur. NASA commonly employs the term "T-minus" during the preparation for and anticipation of a rocket launch, and even "E-minus" for events that involve spacecraft that are already in space, where the "T" could stand for "Test" or "Time", and the "E" stands for "Encounter", as with a comet or some other space object. Other events for which countdowns are commonly used include the detonation of an explosive, the start of a race, the start of the New Year, or any anxiously anticipated event. An early use of a countdown once signaled the start of a Cambridge University rowing race. The first known association with rockets was in the 1929 German science fiction movie Die Frau im Mond (English: Woman in the Moon) written by Thea von Harbou and directed by Fritz Lang in an attempt to increase the drama of the launch sequence of the story's lunar-bound rocket.

A countdown is a carefully devised set of procedures ending with the ignition of a rocket's engine. Depending on the type of vehicle used, countdowns can start from 72 to 96 hours before launch time.
