Staff at his school are taking the matter very seriously and he could be facing expulsion.

The Killer clown craze which has been sweeping across the US with pranksters dressing as clowns to scare people has reached Britain and Ireland.

Three clowns wielding prop chainsaws entered the grounds of Newpark School in Blackrock without permission to hand out leaflets for a Halloween horror attraction last Friday.

The Nightmare Realm, which is being held in the city, said its promotional staff accidentally entered the Dublin school's campus after mistakenly believing it was a public space.
