A Morley bakery is in hot water with the Health Department after being pinged for harbouring pests and having unclean premises.
The City of Bayswater found T&T; Bakery guilty for failing to prevent pests entering and harbouring within the premise, and then failing to eradicate the pests.
The bakery was also convicted for handling food inappropriately rendering it unsuitable and failing to maintain cleanliness standards of no accumulation of food waste, dirt or grease.
The City of Bayswater fined the bakery $13,500 for breaching section 22 of the Food Act.
Spokesman Martyn Boyle said the City will work with the bakery to ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations.
"The prosecution was undertaken by the City following a number of inspections by the City's Environmental Health Officers and a customer complaint," Mr Boyle said.
T&T; Bakery were publicly named and shamed for failing to meet the Food Standards code.
In 2016, WA has had nine offending businesses, with over $300,000 in fines.
The WA Health Department publicly lists all offenders of the Food Act, where it will remain online for all of Perth to see for the next 24 months.
WAToday has contacted T&T; Bakery for comment.
