A consumer is a person or organization that uses economic services or commodities.
In economic systems consumers are utilities expressed in the decision to trade or not.
The consumer is the one who pays to consume goods and services produced. As such, consumers play a vital role in the economic system of a nation. Without consumer demand, producers would lack one of the key motivations to produce: to sell to consumers. The consumer also forms part of the chain of distribution.
Recently in marketing instead of marketers generating broad demographic profiles and Fisio-graphic profiles of market segments, marketers have started to engage in personalized marketing, permission marketing, and mass customization.
The law primarily uses the notion of the consumer in relation to consumer protection laws, and the definition of consumer is often restricted to living persons (i.e. not corporations or businesses) and excludes commercial users. A typical legal rationale for protecting the consumer is based on the notion of policing market failures and inefficiencies, such as inequalities of bargaining power between a consumer and a business. As of all potential voters are also consumers, consumer protection takes on a clear political significance.
William Melvin Hicks (December 16, 1961 – February 26, 1994) was an American stand-up comedian, social critic, satirist, and musician. His material, encompassing a wide range of social issues including religion, politics, and philosophy, was controversial, and often steeped in dark comedy. He criticized consumerism, superficiality and banality within the media and popular culture, which he characterized as oppressive tools of the ruling class that keep people "stupid and apathetic".
At the age of 16, while still in high school, he began performing at the Comedy Workshop in Houston, Texas. During the 1980s, he toured the United States extensively and made a number of high-profile television appearances; but it was in the UK that he amassed a significant fan base, filling large venues during his 1991 tour. He also achieved a modicum of recognition as a guitarist and songwriter.
Hicks died of pancreatic cancer on February 26, 1994 in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 32. In subsequent years his work gained a significant measure of acclaim in creative circles—particularly after a series of posthumous album releases—and he developed a substantial cult following. In 2007 he was voted sixth on Britain's Channel 4 list of the 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comics, and rose to number four on the 2010 list.

SALE TODAY: Learn Piano on iOS http://bit.ly/PianoAppSale Mahalo biology expert Mary Poffenroth talks about trophic structure, including the hierarchy of the system. The trophic levels of living organisms shows their placement in a food chain, and the order of consumption and energy transfer throughout the environment. Producers, mainly green plants and some types of bacteria, can be found at the bottom of the food chain; they convert solar energy into food consumable by living organisms. Consumers are living organisms that feed on producers and other consumers.http://www.uwsp.edu/geo/faculty/ritter/geog101/textbook/biogeography/trophic_levels_and_food_chains.html While plants principally make up the first trophic level, or the producers, organisms that eat plants and meat make up the h...

Sane Man was Bill Hicks’ first full-length comedy special, taped in 1989. This is the early years and the foundation of what would become his signature material and point of view. Funny and thought provoking, he attacks corporate America with venom, and almost screams at people to start thinking for themselves. How Drone Rentals Are Saving Consumer Consumers and Businesses Lots of Money Drone rentals are quickly becoming an appealing option for those wishing to fly, test drive or use drones for personal services. It’s a great alternative for people who would rather not pay the full amount for a drone that they only wish to use a couple of times. Renting a drone can also be a chance to determine if a specific make and model is the best choice for your particular needs before purchasing. Drones in UAVLance.com can be rented for as low as $19/day. The use of drones in the army is a known fact but very few people may be aware of the fact that there are UAVs used in the army that do not belong to the army. Those UAVs rather belong to the companies who rent out their UAVs for the use by military as and...

Consumers, Producers, and the Efficiency of Markets lecture
Surplus: Terrorized Into Being Consumers is an award winning Swedish documentary film on consumerism and globalization, created by director Erik Gandini and editor Johan Söderberg. It looks at the arguments for capitalism and technology, such as greater efficiency, more time and less work, and argues that these are not being fulfilled, and they never will be. The film is about our world, the modern civilisation that eats more than needed. It's not very much information that is physicly showed, its the pictures in symbios with music that is the real strength in this flick. The film leans towards anarcho-primitivist ideology and argues for a simple and fulfilling life.
Dr Claud Anderson talking about the plight of Black people in 2016 which is the same as on the eve of the civil war. Black wealthy people are allowed to be wealthy and their wealth does not translate to Black people as a whole. Immigration is a tool of white racism to hinder Black people. Riots, marching does not harm white racism. Boycott economically and own/control resources business. Democrats nor Republicans have never delivered anything for Black people ever because we do not demand anything. http://www.powernomics.com/ and http://www.harvestinstitute.org/ and Carl Nelson https://twitter.com/carlnelsonshow

Jon Alexander (Twitter: @JonJAlex), founder of the New Citizenship Project (Twitter: @NewCitProj) and PhD in Applied Ethics candidate, explains the importance of appealing to people as Citizens not just Consumers. He draws on the direct social psychology findings (e.g. http://www.psychologicalscience.org/index.php/news/releases/consumerism-and-its-antisocial-effects-can-be-turned-onor-off.html) and their philosophical implications, together with his experience of working for the National Trust on campaigns like MyFarm and the National Planning Policy Framework. He proposes two key points of view: 1) that the language of the Consumer should be carefully avoided by campaigners 2) that as a matter of practice, encouraging people to DO something and become involved, not merely transact with yo...
First it was Volkswagen. Now Mitsubishi has been forced to apologise after confessing it had exaggerated the fuel economy of more than 600,000 cars. Japanese government officials have raided one of its offices and research facilities, forcing the company's share price to drop to an all-time low. On the same day, Volkswagen reached an agreement in the US to compensate half a million American owners of its diesel-powered cars. In what some are starting to call an international pattern of cheating in the car industry, the German carmaker was found to be falsifying its emissions data last year. So, can consumers still trust car manufacturers? And how is technology being used to deceive consumers? Presenter: Sami Zeidan Guests: Nick Molden - Founder and CEO of Emissions Analytics. Feli...
