Regarding app permissions - we’re piloting a fast and easy new way to register for Zipcar in some cities where new users can scan their driving licence and payment card and become a member in minutes. Bad This app just doesn't the door for me and has wasted so much of my time, spent nearly half a day recently and had to scratch all my plans. Please fix it

Amazing app/company For a $32 one time start up fee, rent a new car by the hour ($7-$15) with gas and insurance included? This is truly an amazing app/company. My job requires me to bounce around town all day and since I don't own a car, zipcar helps me save $$$ as opposed to taking 10+ ubers in one day.
App glitch App seems to have a glitch on Android devices, keeps saying that there are no vehicles available in the area but through the web browser booking service shows a sufficient amount available. Issue seems to have arisen after last update. Overall service from Zipcar is good, no real complainants other than the app not functioning as it should. Would like to see this issue acknowledged and a fix as soon as possible.

Best Last Minute Decision I've Ever Made I had to attend a wedding this previous weekend about 2 and a half hours away. The night I was supposed to pick my car up from the rental company I was originally going to use, they told me they needed a depsoit and a credit card. I didnt know about this so I was SOL. I did a really quick as to how I can get a last minute car and I found Zipcar. Free gas, NO DEPOSIT, and extremely friendly. I'm definitely using this company more often

Joining zipcar is a big pain. Its not accepting any combination of passwords. I wanted to join and try zipcar. After installing app I tried almost all wierd combinations for password but it's keep showing error that this password is too common. Don't know how this software was designed and tested before market release. Waste of lots of time...
Cannot even try... I wish I can try, but I can't even apply through the app. I've been trying for more than a week to upload my license photos, few times a day, no way. What kind of company would let its service be broken for so long?
So far so good.....better than turo I have a car reserved...let's see if it us there when I get there. -UPDATE- Rental went smoothly. Had a bumpy start with the car I was assigned not being there when I got there...resolved immediately. I'm now on my second rental. Outstanding customer service!!
Price increase? Company used to to be better. Increased prices and didn't even bother telling its customers about that. Well thank you for letting us know. It's very nice of you. Thanks for your response below but I did not get this email at all. Not in the spam folder, in inbox.

Hi Azat. Sorry to hear that you were surprised by the slight increase in prices - gladly it's not permanent. In London we have a seasonal pricing period over summer every year. This was included in our weekly mailer on 12 May. Between 28 May - 4 Sep, weekend car rates will increase by £1/hour and £5/day, with bank holidays treated as weekends. No cars available Want to pay money to get nothing out of it? Want to get free fake driving credit? Whats that? You have to go to work??? Eat sh*t cause youre not coming close to using one of these two numerous cars they have available for thoasands of people. Thanks zipcar! If I ever need to throw my money in the trash again ill give you a call.
It works, but why uploading photos from car is available on iOS version and not on Android one? It's the most wanted feature I believe. Furthermore, it should already shows scratches which are already on body on the app or website, like what Car2Go offers.
Terribly unreliable For a company that tries to make traveling simpler, it makes it unbelievably hard to drive without keeping on top of things every day. Want a car a week in advance? Good luck, because Zipcar will swap you to a different type of vehicle three times, sometimes as close to a day before you need it. Want to call to report the problem? No phone number listed. Use the app? Doesn't work. Weak service, feels as though the company simply does not care about consumers.
Could not be worse For whatever reason, ZipCar didn't accept my driver's license. So I called the toll-free number the app told me to call. I talked for 11 minutes to a very confused person who transferred me to the "applications department," which actually was an entirely different company that had no idea why they were talking to me. Call #2 didn't last long because the guy got confused and hung up on me. Call #3 lasted more than 19 minutes before the rep agreed to give me to a "supervisor," but actually hung up.
Glitchy!!!! Won't work Living in a hospital out of town while your is awaiting surgeries is no fun. Then I hear about zipcar so I can run errands real quick so I sign up online. I download the app and it says my account is inactive to call them to "get back in the road"??????? What????? All this after I pay the stupid fee online and now I can't even get on the app so I can make a reservation and unlock the car. They didn't give me the option to have the card mailed to my current location just the billing address..... crappy
App doesn't work tried signing up for this app 10 times in a row and kept getting a msg that my drivers license is not approved .I made sure the picture scanned for both credit card and drivers license front and back were crystal clear. After speaking with the same reps back to back in Mexico which made it that much harder to communicate because of their strong accents I was told 1000 different things. Yet somehow when I applied online it wrked. Got to wait a week to use a car I need tomorrow . Smh not worth it
Disappointed I just created an account so I could run errands for school, seeing as it would be cheaper than getting uber. I create a college profile and get charged my yearly balance, and get nowhere. It tells me I am not old enough or unavailable to reserve a vehicle. Spoke with support and was told the best they can do is forward the issue and it was take a few business days. Not very handy for last minute like the app/site suggests
App won't take log in credentials Everytime I've tried logging into the app it will not take my password. I've changed my password several times and still no dice. However the website not an issue. I'm not sure if it's a syncing issue, cache issue as far as my information but it is frustrating.
Won't let me sign in Cannot sign in using the app. Online works just fine. Very frustrating as I need a car ASAP and my zip card has not yet arrived.
Changed reservations at the last minute I had made reservations three days prior for a Zipcar within walking distance of me. Yesterday night at 11, they emailed me to tell me my reservation had been moved to a different location, 2 miles away in a sketchy part of town. It was an hour walk, a distance that I could not get to without a car. Why would I be renting a car to drive to rent a car? Because they changed my reservation so late, I had no time to find an alternate ride or a taxi, and had to walk. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the situation
Could be worse. My friend had a terrible experience with the customer service. She sent a bunch of emails and complaints and nobody ever professionally got back to her. Seems like they avoid problems their customers experience. If your planning a long road trip or anything more than a few hours i recommend another car rental place but other that its useful for small day trips around the city or last second rentals. Its actually saved me and some friends a few times with the convenience but they still got a lot to improve.
Can't sign in I literally just created an account online a few minutes ago and decided to download the app. It won't even let me sign it.... What the hell? The password and username is fresh in my mind. This is ridiculous.
Great after you have setup an account Setting up an account caused a bit of trouble and required calling the support desk. Once setup the service worked as expected. Very convenient. Was able to unlock a car through the app within 1hr of signing up. Great
Sometimes won't communicate with car I have had this app about a day and it sometimes won't lock the car when I leave. It says there's an error and other times it says "something went wrong." I have it high marks for convenience, but it's a bit dodgy to use as keyless entry.
Annoying Sometimes doesn't work at all for no apparent reason. Forces me to updater basic information on the website instead of the app. Why? This isn't some new app, it's been around for YEARS, it should allow me to do everything in the app by now.
Getting my zipcar membership was the best decision. Makes doing errands so much easier. Would take me all day with transit and cabs...only a couple hours with a new car and I can listen to my tunes :)
Can't sign in I can't sign in. I've reset my password twice, closed and reopened the app, and even restarted my phone. I can log in through my web browser fine but the app is not working for me (and I've been trying on and off for two weeks!) Please help!
One-way trips not available and terrible customer service! Why I paid for a membership that I thought would be great is beyond me! Every time I have needed to make a reservation, it has not been available at the times I needed it. If you need a one way trip...forget it. I had to call customer service to even see if this was possible and ended up talking to a guy who could barely speak English! Terrible, terrible, terrible! Not worth it at all! This app/service has only caused frustration!!!
To pricey You can rent a vehicle from dollar rent a car for 23$ a day I rented a vehicle for 5 and a half hours costed me 53$. Also the gas card was expired so I had to put my own money in the gas tank when I was told that "gas was covered".
Great customer service and fleet Zipcar reservations go smoothly 8/10 times and the ones that don't go smooth (zipster gets stuck in traffic/late return or car goes for "maintenance" 2hrs before your reservation) get resolved by the Zipcar customer service specialists in a timely manner. Hourly prices are reasonable and fleet is pretty good
Nice app Shame the cars aren't there when you book them. Ended up doing my three appointments by bus and on foot. Total waste of time.
BEST APP FOR YOUNG PEOPLE most rental places don't let people under 25 take cars, and they always run credit checks.. This app passes all that.. Best thing that ever happened!!
Liars Zipcar said I was accepted and I paid the fee and paid for my first ride and then they sent me an email stating that I was rejected for some reason and to call to find out why. When I called they still were not able to give me an actual explanation. When I asked for a refund, they said that since I had paid for the first ride, that would be difficult to accomplish.
Price increase, not permanent..? Seems like the price hike is here to stay as in a previous response from zipcar it was said price increase was just for the summer period in London, ending 4 September. What date is today?? Oh wait it's the 10th..
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE When on a trip to Denver my friends and I decided to get zipcar to save money . 45 minutes into the drive our car broke out of nowhere, which is fine, these things happen. What's not fine is zipcars support. When we asked how we were supposed to get home they said call an uber to pick you up in the middle of nowhere with no cell service on a busy highway. Had a very that's not my problem attitude and didn't care about our saftey. Thankful the local law enforcement moved us to a safe area with cell service.
Zipcar is awesome This app is really cool. One thing that I will be cool is if you guys add the ability to report when the car is left with less than a quarter tank of gas or when the car is dirty.
Trouble logging in This is my first time as a zip car client and it won't let me log in. Also when I hit forgot username and password it didn't recognize my email. I had 2 create 3 separate accounts because of this issue
Browser and app integration is bad I created my account online from google chrome. I am trying to login into the mobile app using the same credentials but it failed. I am allowed to use only one either the zip card or the phone?.
Not sure what's going on.. The app will not let me sign in at all... I've uninstalled the app and installed it again with no luck. Kinda bummed as my transportation situation has changed.
Too much hassle If you travel from Europe it is not worth it, you need to get your licence confirmed, need to come to main office collect card, and it is much more expensive then to rent a car.
