The eldest son of Barbara and George H. W. Bush, he was born in New Haven, Connecticut. After graduating from Yale University in 1968 and Harvard Business School in 1975, he worked in oil businesses. He married Laura Welch in 1977 and ran unsuccessfully for the House of Representatives shortly thereafter. He later co-owned the Texas Rangers baseball team before defeating Ann Richards in the 1994 Texas gubernatorial election. He was elected president in 2000 after a close and controversial election, becoming the fourth president to be elected while receiving fewer popular votes nationwide than his opponent. He is the second president to have been the son of a former president, the first having been John Quincy Adams. He is also the brother of Jeb Bush, who is a former Governor of Florida and candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in the 2016 presidential election.

On the domestic front, the first president Bush inherited the relative prosperity of the later Reagan years, and watched that prosperity evaporate. That was about all the interest Bush 41 had, domestically, so let's move to foreign policy, which was a bigger deal at this time. The biggie was the end of the Cold War, which is the title of the video, so you know it's impo...

On September 11th, 2001, America's freedom was attacked on its own soil. Four airplanes were hijacked, two planes destroyed the World Trade Center in New York City, one plane struck the Pentagon, and the last plane's attempt at mayhem was hampered by heroic measures of the plane's passengers and made a crash landing in near Shanksville, PA. America was attacked. Its citizens were shocked and the country had questions that needed answers. George W. Bush made a joint address to Congress and to present the State of the Union on September 20th, 2001, to both memorialize the lives lost during the tragic events that unfolded 9 days prior, but also to outline his plans of foreign policy. Many tout this speech to be Bush's finest moment in a one of the toughest times in recent American hist...

WTF? It's hard to be believe that dolt was in charge, if he ever really was? Honestly, how could someone so thick become the world's leader? It reminds one of the 1979 film 'Being There.' He doesn't know the definition of the word 'backstory' when asked about 'The Stranger.' It is so, so very sad! Worse, he goes on to claim that he read 60 books in the period of January through September 2006. Sorry?

The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder is a 2008 book by former prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi. It argues that George W. Bush took the United States into the invasion of Iraq under false pretenses and should be tried for murder for the deaths of American soldiers in Iraq. The book sold over 130,000 copies within its first three months of release. Bugliosi argues that Bush intentionally misled Congress and the American people about the evidence that he said mandated going into Iraq and overthrowing Saddam Hussein. Therefore, Bugliosi argues, under the felony-murder rule the deaths of over 4,000 American soldiers and 100,000 Iraqi civilians (as of spring 2008) since hostilities began amount at the very least to second-degree murder. He further states that any of the 50 state attorneys ge...

Listen to the full audiobook: http://easyget.us/mabk/30/en/B007JRUNU4/book This book challenges the idea that the mixing of religion and presidential politics is a new phenomenon. It explores how presidents have drawn on their religious upbringing, rhetoric, ideas, and beliefs to promote their domestic and foreign policies to the nation. This influence is evident in Washington's decision to add "so help me God" to the presidential oath, accusations by Adam's supporters that Jefferson was an infidel, Lincoln's biblical metaphors during the Civil War, and Fdr's call to fight against Nazi totalitarianism on behalf of Judeo-christian civilization. It is also apparent in Truman's support for Israel, Eisenhower's Cold War decision to add "in God We Trust" on American currency, the debate over Jf...
This is former president George W. Bush’s account of key moments during his eight years in the White House (2000 – 2008). Rather than write a comprehensive chronology, he chooses to focus on 14 of his most critical decisions – from his early days as a Texas businessman through his path to the presidency – and the crises that occur during his tenure. He adopted this approach after reading a similarly structured memoir by Ulysses S. Grant. The events are presented in the context of the issues, rather than chronologically, and therefore jump a bit between chapters. Mr. Bush hopes this book will provide some historical perspective in years to come, and offer readers some idea of the complicated atmosphere in which he (and other presidents) have to make the tough calls. Chapter 1: Quitting Cha...
