Video of the crux of his speech where he called out UN countries’ silence on Iranian leaders’ call for the destruction of Israel, which included 45 seconds of “deafening silence.”
John leaves for SCS. Congress has neglected to vote on a 1st responder’s bill that would make the health care for the heroes of 911 permanent before it expired. Katy Perry invited a female fan up on stage during her performance in Brazil, only to be groped and kissed on in an aggressive manner. The few stories that picked the story up joked about it, which annoys Ana, since it wouldn’t be taken this way if it were a male fan groping Perry. Ben disagrees. The founder of the “Shout Your Abortion” campaign has gone into hiding after receiving tons of death threats. She openly spoke about her abortion to dispel the stigma associated with getting one. All of her info was posted online by the aggressors, too. Planned Parenthood reached out to help her find a place to lay low.

I wish that I could say that I was in a “better place” when I found out the news. It would make for a far more polished and respectable story. But I think back to that night: praying on the floor at 2am as Tricia went to the bathroom to take the pregnancy test I’d just purchased from Walgreens. I was scared. Scared to start working on new music. Scared of trying again and failing. Scared of the process of staring at myself through a page and seeing someone that I wasn’t proud of. Someone that I didn’t like. Someone that wasn’t ready to be a dad.
I’ve always had some make-believe image in my head of who I would be as a father. I held on to clear expectations of where I wanted be in my career, my age, my level of self-care, and my maturity. I basically assumed that I'd have it all together. But in actuality the hypothetical “dad" version of me looked completely different than the man whose heart was beating out of his chest on the carpet, praying to a god or spirit I hadn’t talked to in months. When Tricia walked out of the bathroom, I knew. And I knew I had to change.
5 months later we were recording in a remote cabin away from the density that is Seattle. I was finally having fun in the studio for the first time in years. Songs were getting made, finally. I was going back to the city once a week to attend a birthing class with Tricia. When I got back to the cabin the next day, Ryan had made a new beat that would eventually become the song you’re listening to. Half of it is advice about growing up. The other half is trying to figure out how to grow up myself.
When you try to escape yourself, life has an interesting way of creating situations that force you to come back. To look at who you are. This is why “Growing up” felt like the right song to re-emerge with. It’s where I’ve been the last year, through all the ups and downs. We didn’t want to do a big campaign or anything over the top with this. We just wanted to put out good music, directly to the people that have been here since the beginning. Thank you for your patience. Hope you enjoy.

Our daughter, Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty was born 2 months ago on May 29th. There is nothing like the joy and happiness that comes from bringing a baby into this universe. She has filled my heart in ways that I never knew were possible. She is the love of my life. This song is for her.

"Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says the recent spate of mass shootings aren't because of access to guns, but because of "sin and evil" in the world.
The GOP presidential candidate, a former pastor, said there were "warning signals" about the shooter at Oregon's Umpqua Community College who killed nine people and himself last week, including him being "a loner," but no one reported them.
"We have not so much a gun problem; we have a problem with sin and evil. This is an evil thing, when people kill another person," Huckabee said. "Whether it's a pressure cooker or whether it's a gun, we're dealing with people who are either deranged or they're very focused because they want to kill people in the name of terrorism."*

Oregon (
i/ˈɔrɨɡən/ ORR-ə-gən) is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It is located on the Pacific coast, with Washington to the north, California to the south, Nevada on the southeast and Idaho to the east. The Columbia and Snake rivers delineate much of Oregon's northern and eastern boundaries, respectively. The area was inhabited by many indigenous tribes before the arrival of traders, explorers, and settlers who formed an autonomous government in Oregon Country in 1843. The Oregon Territory was created in 1848, and Oregon became the 33rd state on February 14, 1859.
Oregon is the 9th most extensive and the 27th most populous of the 50 United States. Salem is the state's capital and third-most-populous city; Portland is the most populous. Portland is the 29th-largest U.S. city, with a population of 583,776 (2010 US Census) and a metro population of 2,241,841 (2009 estimate), the 23rd-largest U.S. metro area. The valley of the Willamette River in western Oregon is the state's most densely populated area and is home to eight of the ten most populous cities.

Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter and actress. I wish that I could say that I was in a “better place” when I found out the news. It would make for a far more polished and respectable story. But I think back to that night: praying on the floor at 2am as Tricia went to the bathroom to take the pregnancy test I’d just purchased from Walgreens. I was scared. Scared to start working on new music. Scared of trying again and failing. Scared of the process of staring at myself through a page and seeing someone that I wasn’t proud of. Someone that I didn’t like. Someone that wasn’t ready to be a dad.
I’ve always had some make-believe image in my head of who I would be as a father. I held on to clear expectations of where I wanted be in my career, my age, my level of self-care, and my maturity. I basically assumed that I'd have it all together. But in actuality the hypothetical “dad" version of me looked completely different than the man whose heart was beating out of his chest on the carpet, praying to a god or spirit I hadn’t talked to in months. When Tricia walked out of the bathroom, I knew. And I knew I had to change.
5 months later we were recording in a remote cabin away from the density that is Seattle. I was finally having fun in the studio for the first time in years. Songs were getting made, finally. I was going back to the city once a week to attend a birthing class with Tricia. When I got back to the cabin the next day, Ryan had made a new beat that would eventually become the song you’re listening to. Half of it is advice about growing up. The other half is trying to figure out how to grow up myself.
When you try to escape yourself, life has an interesting way of creating situations that force you to come back. To look at who you are. This is why “Growing up” felt like the right song to re-emerge with. It’s where I’ve been the last year, through all the ups and downs. We didn’t want to do a big campaign or anything over the top with this. We just wanted to put out good music, directly to the people that have been here since the beginning. Thank you for your patience. Hope you enjoy.

Our daughter, Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty was born 2 months ago on May 29th. There is nothing like the joy and happiness that comes from bringing a baby into this universe. She has filled my heart in ways that I never knew were possible. She is the love of my life. This song is for her.

"Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says the recent spate of mass shootings aren't because of access to guns, but because of "sin and evil" in the world.
The GOP presidential candidate, a former pastor, said there were "warning signals" about the shooter at Oregon's Umpqua Community College who killed nine people and himself last week, including him being "a loner," but no one reported them.
"We have not so much a gun problem; we have a problem with sin and evil. This is an evil thing, when people kill another person," Huckabee said. "Whether it's a pressure cooker or whether it's a gun, we're dealing with people who are either deranged or they're very focused because they want to kill people in the name of terrorism."*

In this travel video tour of Portland, Oregon, I travel to Portland, one of the most unique cities in the United States.
I started my trip off by hopping off a plane and then immediately hopping onto a bus. But not just any bus, a bus operated by Brewvana Brewery Tours, the mostly women-run craft beer brewery tour company. Portland, or know as Beervana to some, is home to 55 breweries within its borders, and is truly a beer-lover's paradise. On my tour we made stops at Rogue Ales & Spirits, Laurelwood Pubic House & Brewery, Widmer Brothers Brewery and Sidecar Bar, where I had the chance to sit down over a pint with the founder and owner of Brewvana, Ashley Rose Salvitti.
While in Portland, I stayed at the Tiny House Hotel, a hotel made up of, you guessed it, tiny houses. In the next portion of my video guide I give a tour of my "crib" to show what it's like to live and stay in a tiny house.
Then, in an effort to get a chance to experience the famed brunch scene in Portland, I stopped in at The Tin Shed Garden Cafe, located down the street from where I was staying in the New Alberta Arts District.
In the interest of learning more about food, I headed to the downtown location of the Portland Farmers Market, located in a beautiful stretch of downtown Portland. Here, I got a tour of the grounds with Mona Johnson, then had the opportunity to meet up with some of the vendors, including Matt Choi of Choi's Kimchi Company, and famed chef and artisanal pickle impresario, David Barber of Picklopolis and Bingo! Sandwiches.
In need of a little peace and serenity, I then visited the Lan Su Chinese Garden, a peaceful and beautiful oasis in an otherwise busy and hectic part of downtown.
When visiting Portland, there's no reason to spend all your time in the city, especially with so much to do outside the city limits. The next day I took a road trip with local Matthew Domingo to explore the Columbia River Gorge and the numerous trails and waterfalls just off the road you can check out.
Then, to wrap things up, we stopped in at Hood River Organic near the riverside town of Hood River, an organic orchard and farm run by East Coast ex-pat Dan Thall, who gave us a tour of his land. Once the day ended we then headed out to happy hour at Solera Brewery in the imposing shadow of Mount Hood and then into town for a dinner featuring mushroom pizza with mushrooms Dan had grown and recently delivered to the restaurant.

ABOUT HILLARY CLINTON
Hillary Clinton has served as Secretary of State, Senator from New York, First Lady of the United States, First Lady of Arkansas, a practicing lawyer and law professor, activist, and volunteer, but the first things her friends and family will tell you is that she’s never forgotten where she came from or who she’s been fighting for throughout her life. Hillary was then elected to the U.S. Senate, becoming the first woman senator from New York. She repeatedly worked across the aisle to get things done, including working alongside Republicans after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. When Congress wouldn't do enough for rural areas and small towns, Hillary didn’t back down. She launched innovative partnerships with the tech industry and provided support to local colleges and small businesses. When President Obama asked Hillary to serve as his secretary of state, she answered the call to public service once again. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he attended James Madison High School, Brooklyn College, and the University of Chicago. After graduating, he moved to Vermont where he worked as a carpenter and documentary filmmaker. In 1981, he was elected as mayor of Burlington, the state’s largest city, by a mere 10 votes.
As mayor, Bernie’s leadership helped transform Burlington into one of the most exciting and livable small cities in America. Under his administration, the city made major strides in affordable housing, progressive taxation, environmental protection, child care, women’s rights, youth programs and the arts.
In Congress, Bernie has fought tirelessly for working families, focusing on the shrinking middle class and growing gap between the rich and everyone else. Bernie has been called a “practical and successful legislator” and he was dubbed the “amendment king” in the House of Representatives for passing more amendments than any other member of Congress. As chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Bernie worked across the aisle to “bridge Washington’s toxic partisan divide and cut one of the most significant deals in years.” In 2015, Democratic leadership tapped Bernie to serve as the caucus’ ranking member on the Senate Budget Committee.

In the United States, we have one of the most unequal wealth and income distributions of any major country on earth. Today the top one-tenth of 1 percent of our nation owns almost as much wealth as the bottom 90 percent combined. One family, Walmart’s Walton family, owns more wealth than the bottom 42 percent of Americans combined. Nearly all of the new income growth since the recession has gone to the top 1 percent.

Following through on a campaign promise last summer, Wu voted to downgrade China's ""most favored nation"" status as a statement against China's abuses of human rights. The Congressman's vote disappointed corporate constituents and some of his campaign contributors. In the end, a question of conscience became a newsworthy political imbroglio.
Perhaps that is why Republicans are targeting Wu's seat as an ""easy win"" in the 2000 election. Wu's political inexperience and assertive posture just might force him out of office, but in the meantime, David Wu is persevering with a clear and healthy agenda.
In fact, Wu's two top legislative priorities are rather concise. On education, Wu believes in reducing class sizes, rebuilding and improving school facilities, and easing federal regulation of local schools. On health care, Wu defends a ""real"" Patient's Bill of Rights that provides Americans with a comprehensive set of enforceable patient protections. On issues that came before Congress this year, Wu spoke in support of state's rights by defending Oregon's Assisted Suicide Law and he backed the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act.

During the Planned Parenthood hearing, Rep Grothman asked what the purpose is of Planned Parenthood since as a guy, he can go anywhere for healthcare. Bernie Sanders spoke out about how Pres Obama took too long to realize that the GOP hates him and will never work with him. John is comforted by Sanders recognizing the atmosphere, since Obama didn’t. Jeb Bush spoke with an NFL show on SiriusXM and voiced his support for the Redskins name. Video of his answer, claiming that Native American tribes don’t find it offensive, either. Coincidentally, Redskins owner Dan Snyder recently gave $100,000 to the Super PAC that supports Jeb.
Ana joins Ben for SCS. Apple app store has rejected an app called Drones Plus, that shows areas where drone strikes have happened. Apple claimed it was excessively crude, unentertaining, or objectionable content. 8 players from Iran’s female soccer team are being accused of being men posing as women. Iran is very open to gender reassignment surgery and trans issues. Ben isn’t buying that these players are transgender women, but simply men being put on the team as ringers. Discussion about the potential of this becoming an issue in American sports. The Saudi prince accused of raping a woman in his Beverly Hills home has posted the $300K bail and flew out of the country on a private jet. Ana doesn’t think it’s likely that he’ll return to face the rape charges.

"It is almost midterm at the State Capitol and Oregon's lawmakers are feeling the pressure to make tough decisions about many important issues. The largest of these issues is, of course, funding Oregon's public schools. Governor Kitzhaber believes that Oregon's school budget should be increased by $400 billion for improvements like smaller class sizes, funds for more textbooks and other learning materials, more trained teachers at all grade levels, and restored elementary school classes for art, music, physical education and foreign languages.
Republican lawmakers, on the other hand, are not convinced that the Governor's increased budget proposal will lead to higher student achievement. So while the legislature debates Kitzhaber's plan versus producing a school budget at current levels, the Governor is keeping the pressure on for more money. In fact, Kitzhaber is keeping his voice in the media to make sure that his proposal to fund schools with new revenue from the surplus kicker, Oregon's tobacco settlement, the state's school trust fund, and from higher corporate taxes does not go overlooked. The political stage is set for high drama. As events unfold in the following weeks, Oregon's schools, not to mention numerous other state programs dependent on revenue in the next budget, will wait in the wings to see where the money goes. This week, Governor Kitzhaber will make his case before the City Club by announcing a new detailed plan to pursue the long-term stability and economic health of Oregon's schools."
