Read your free e-book: http://hotaudiobook.com/mebk/50/en/B00IZGD4J0/book I came across a long standing rationale from many pro-marijuana users saying how god gave us every seed bearing plant and he said it was good. Which also contested that if high-fructose corn syrup, caffeine, alcohol and other addictive foods are legal, then why shouldnt we be able to have the freedom to choose if we use marijuana. In an attempt to try to build a case for Gods freedom to allow us to do whatever we want, Im taking on a potentially contentious issue in the arena of Christianity and living today. Writing this in a reflection, prayer focus with room for your interpretation and application is difficult without providing some God centered application questions. I personally tried marijuana at parties in hig...

In the middle of our daily struggles, it can be easy to focus on ourselves and get caught up in a wave of worry. Why is this happening? What did we do wrong? When are things going to get better? But God tells us to look in a different place. In the first part of our series Consider the Source, Pastor Steven teaches us what God says about our situations and our worry, and why knowing where we come from is paramount in understanding where we're going.

Madelyn Murray O'Hair speaking at a convention of American Atheists in 1972. On May 5th, 2014, the U.S. Supreme Court discarded both clauses of the 1st Amendment. This ruling not only establishes a state religion, but it also forces non-Christians to bow their head to the Christian god as part of government business. This week, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court also overturned earlier rulings such that the state may now force non-Christian students to recite the pledge of allegiance including the phrase 'under God' which was added to the pledge decades in 1957. Thus the state has established a religion, and at that moment is already violating human rights with it. There can be no freedom OF religion without freedom FROM religion, and the US has just proved that -again. In recogniti...
We work hard to make a living, and many of us are not sure how or why we should give any of it away. Besides, after the mortgage and the bills and the tuition payments, there really isn't much left over. But Scripture tells a very different story when describing what belongs to us and what belongs to God. In part 2 of our series Consider the Source, Pastor Steven challenges the way we approach our giving, and why our generosity says a lot about how we view God.
Originally published in the August 2004 issue of Gourmet magazine, this review of the 2003 Maine Lobster Festival generated some controversy among the readers of the culinary magazine. The essay is concerned with the ethics of boiling a creature alive in order to enhance the consumer's pleasure, including a discussion of lobster sensory neurons. "Is it all right to boil a sentient creature alive just for our gustatory pleasure?" This was the question posed by the renowned late author David Foster Wallace in "Consider the Lobster." Wallace, who was hailed by critics as a literary genius, wrote this article "to work out and articulate some of the troubling questions that arise amid all the laughter and saltation and community pride of the Maine Lobster Festival." Gourmet editors may have go...

(Psalm 34:12-14): “Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” The man of God enumerated the basic things we need to consider in prayer as follows: “The thoughts that are in the mind, the desires that are in the heart and the feelings that are in the spirit”. It means that Christians must understand the right concepts of praying before their prayers can attract the attention of Heaven. No wonder many people pray and yet things remain the same. The major import of the message is that we must understand how to pray aright as true Christians. Because prayer is a serious communion between man and his Creator, the man of God observed that it requires careful thin...
