Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River upstream of Lake Hume

Flood Warning Number: 18

Minor flooding is continuing along the Murray River upstream of Lake Hume.

Swampy Plains River:
The Murray River at Biggara is currently at 1.68 metres (minor flood level 2.0
metres) and falling.

Murray River Biggara to Bringenbrong:
Minor flooding is occurring in the Murray River around Bringenbrong.

The Murray River at Bringenbrong is currently at 3.02 metres and falling
slowly. The Murray River at Bringenbrong will fall below the minor flood level
(3.00 m) early Tuesday afternoon.

Murray River Bringenbrong to Lake Hume:
Minor flooding may occur along the Murray River Bringenbrong to Lake Hume.

The Murray River at Jingellic is currently at 3.74 metres and steady. A renewed
rise in the Murray River at Jingellic to around the minor flood level (4.00 m)
is possible during Tuesday into Wednesday.

Flood Safety Advice:
SES advises that all community members should:
Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
Never allow children to play in floodwater,
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may
contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases
the potential for landslides and debris across roads.
