CGA (Advanced Management Centre)

CGA (Advanced Management Center) manages the Andalusian ICT schools Network. That system has been installed in more than 7,000 schools integrated in the same network and it is managed using open source in a central way.

It has been created by the Andalusian Regional Government (Junta de Andalucía).

CGA was created to isolate technical problems implicit in the ICT use and to let the users develop teaching activities. CGA centralices all the support to the schools network and creates solutions adapted to the Andalusian teachers and pupils needs.

CGA purpose is to make the educational community use and enjoy the ICT based on an open source without taking care of the administration, maintenance and configuration of the technical elements, and without the need of having advanced technical knowledge.

ICT is used at schools as an additional tool to develop the teacher's job. To learn using computers.

Andalusian Educational Policy Framework

The Andalusian Regional Government launched the Bill of Measures to Propel the “Knowledge Society” in Andalusia (“Decreto de medidas de impulso a la sociedad del conocimiento en Andalucía” ) on the 18th of March 2003, a singular and groundbreaking law in terms of its contents, scope and the philosophy which inspired it. This bill has as its main goal the establishment of the measures needed to contribute to Andalusia’s full incorporation into the “Knowledge society”, and consequently, to achieve a higher standard of living, a better territorial balance and a more competitive and widened productive sector in Andalusia.

Management

The English verb "manage" comes from the Italian maneggiare (to handle, especially tools), which derives from the two Latin words manus (hand) and agere (to act).

The French word for housekeeping, ménagerie, derived from ménager ("to keep house"; compare ménage for "household"), also encompasses taking care of domestic animals. The French word mesnagement (or ménagement) influenced the semantic development of the English word management in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Jesse Porter

Jesse Porter (Coby Bell) is a former Counterintelligence Field Activity/Defense Intelligence Agency agent introduced in the Season 4 premiere. He was initially stationed in the field, but his risky and impulsive tactical maneuvers led to his being demoted to desk duty. Because of his research on the war-profiteering organization that Management was hunting, Michael stole Jesse's work in the course of his investigation, unintentionally burning Jesse. Jesse came to Michael for help as a fellow burned spy, which Michael accepted. But the fact that Jesse was insistent on exacting revenge on whoever burned him led the team to cover their trails leading to his burning. Left with nothing as Michael was, Jesse moves in as a tenant with Madeline and quickly fits into the team and their regular jobs.

Management (game)

Management is a business simulation board game released by Avalon Hill in 1960. Players operate their own manufacturing companies, making decisions on purchasing supplies, determining production volume, setting sale prices, and expanding factories. Turns are measured in business cycles. The winner is the player with the largest business at the end of the game. The competitive element is found in the players secretly bidding to purchase limited raw materials (with supplies going to the highest bidders) and then later secretly pricing their finished product for a market that normally would only purchase from the lowest priced suppliers.

Center (basketball)

The center (C), also known as the five or the big man, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is normally the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well.

The tallest player to ever be drafted in the NBA or the WNBA was the 7'8" (2.33 m) Yasutaka Okayama from Japan, though he never played in the NBA. The tallest players to ever play in the NBA, at 7'7" (2.31 m), are centers Gheorghe Mureșan, and Manute Bol. Standing at 7'2" (2.18 m), Margo Dydek is the tallest player to have ever played in the WNBA.

History of the center position

Emergence of the center and the era of George Mikan

The center is considered a necessary component for a successful team, especially in professional leagues such as the NBA. Great centers have been the foundation for most of the dynasties in both the NBA and NCAA. The 6’10" (2.08 m) George Mikan pioneered the Center position, shattering the widely held perception that tall players could not develop the agility and coordination to play basketball well, and ushering in the role of the dominant big man. He led DePaul University to the NIT title, then, after turning professional, won seven National Basketball League, Basketball Association of America and NBA Championships in his ten-year career (1946–56), nine of them with the Minneapolis Lakers. Using his height to dominate opposing players, Mikan invented the hook shot and the shot block; as a consequence, the NCAA, and later NBA, adopted the goaltending rule, and, in 1951, the NBA widened the foul lane, a decision known as the 'Mikan rule'.
