Andrew John Bower Mitchell (born 23 March 1956) is a British Conservative Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sutton Coldfield since 2001. He was the MP for Gedling from 1987 to 1997. He served in the Cabinet as Secretary of State for International Development from 2010 to 2012, and then briefly as Government Chief Whip in the House of Commons until he resigned after losing the confidence of many of his colleagues following an alleged altercation with a police officer.
Mitchell was elected President of the Cambridge Union in 1978. A former United Nations military peacekeeper, he has extensive pre-government experience of the developing world, and is the founder of Project Umubano, a Conservative Party social action project in Rwanda and Sierra Leone in central and west Africa, launched in 2007.
Mitchell was returned as MP for Sutton Coldfield at the 2015 general election, with his majority increased by 0.6%.
Mitchell was born at Hampstead in north London, the son of Sir David Mitchell, a former Conservative MP and junior Government Minister.
Edward Samuel Miliband (born 24 December 1969) is a British politician who was the Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition between 2010 and 2015. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Doncaster North since 2005 and served in the Cabinet from 2007 to 2010 under Prime Minister Gordon Brown. He and his brother, David Miliband, were the first siblings to sit in the Cabinet simultaneously since Edward and Oliver Stanley in 1938.
Born in London, Miliband graduated from Corpus Christi College at the University of Oxford, and the London School of Economics, becoming first a television journalist, a Labour Party researcher and a visiting scholar at Harvard University before rising to become one of Chancellor Gordon Brown's confidants and Chairman of HM Treasury's Council of Economic Advisers.
Miliband was elected to Parliament in 2005, succeeding the retiring Labour MP Kevin Hughes in Doncaster North. Prime Minister Tony Blair made Miliband Parliamentary Secretary to the Cabinet Office in May 2006 and when Gordon Brown became Prime Minister in 2007, he appointed Miliband Minister for the Cabinet Office and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. Miliband was subsequently promoted to the new post of Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, a position he held from 2008 to 2010.
David William Donald Cameron (/ˈkæmᵊrən/; born 9 October 1966) is an English politician who has served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 2010, as Leader of the Conservative Party since 2005 and as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Witney since 2001.
Cameron studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Brasenose College, Oxford. He then joined the Conservative Research Department and became special adviser, first to Norman Lamont and then to Michael Howard. He was Director of Corporate Affairs at Carlton Communications for seven years. Cameron first stood for Parliament in Stafford in 1997. He ran on a Eurosceptic platform, breaking with his party's then-policy by opposing British membership of the single European currency, and was defeated by a swing close to the national average. He was first elected to Parliament in the 2001 general election for the Oxfordshire constituency of Witney. He was promoted to the Opposition front bench two years later and rose rapidly to become head of policy co-ordination during the 2005 general election campaign. With a public image of a youthful, moderate candidate who would appeal to young voters, he won the Conservative leadership election in 2005.
Peter Jonathan Hitchens (born 28 October 1951) is an English journalist and author. He has published six books, including The Abolition of Britain, The Rage Against God and The War We Never Fought. He is a frequent critic of political correctness, and describes himself as a theist and Burkean conservative.
Hitchens writes for Britain's The Mail on Sunday newspaper and is a former foreign correspondent in Moscow and Washington. He works as a foreign reporter and in 2010 was awarded the Orwell Prize. He is the younger brother of the late writer Christopher Hitchens.
Peter Hitchens was born in Malta, where his father, a career naval officer, was stationed as part of the colonial garrison. He was educated at the Leys School and the Oxford College of Further Education before being accepted at the University of York, where he studied Philosophy and Politics and was a member of Alcuin College, graduating in 1973. He later commented that he "must have been a severe disappointment" to his parents after making sure he "would never get into Oxbridge" by being arrested breaking into a government fall-out shelter.

Facing David Cameron across the dispatch box, Ed Miliband goes on the attack over 'plebgate' and the conduct of chief whip Andrew Mitchell at PMQs. Labour leader Ed Miliband accused the Prime Minister of "total double standards" over Andrew Mitchell's row with Downing Street police. The Opposition leader claimed David Cameron would support police who locked up a "yob" who swore at officers but refused to sack his chief whip for the same offence. As the leaders clashed at the first Prime Minister's questions since Mr Mitchell's altercation at the gates of Downing Street, Mr Cameron insisted the chief whip's apology had been accepted and accused Mr Miliband of having "nothing serious to say about the country". A senior British member of parliament has accused Russia of targeting civilians in Syria in the same way the Nazis behaved at Guernica during the Spanish civil war of the 1930s. Andrew Mitchell, a lawmaker in Prime Minister Theresa May's ruling Conservatives and a former Secretary of State for International Development, said an attack last month on a United Nations relief convoy near the northern Syrian city of Aleppo was a war crime committed by Russian forces. "We are witnessing events that match the behaviour of the Nazi regime in Guernica in Spain," he said referring to the destruction of the Spanish town in 1937 by German aircraft from Adolf Hitler's Luftwaffe. The bombing of the historic city became the subject of a famous painting by artist Pablo Picasso. Click to watch the strik...
The UK government is being told it should be prepared to send RAF planes to stop Russian airstrikes in Syria. MPs will hold an emergency debate on Tuesday afternoon on the worsening situation in the city of Aleppo, where Syrian government forces are being backed by Russian warplanes. Conservative MP Andrew Mitchell, who has called the debate, likens Russia's actions to the Nazis in the 1930s. He told the Today programme the UK should be prepared to join an international force to police a no-fly zone. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Social media and the millennial vote." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtybBkklnS0 -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-
