Frozen shoulder syndrome is a very painful and debilitating condition of the shoulder characterised by pain and severe stiffness of more than 50% in all directions, (i.e. you can't move the arm freely in any direction, especially behind your back). Frozen Shoulder can be very distressing as it can make you feel mildly disabled. You may well be suffering from: • Severe night pain and waking • Inability to lie on your side at night • Can't brush your hair • Can't brush your teeth • Can't reach to your back pocket • Can't lift your arm • Increased sweating Frozen Shoulder can last for months! Frozen Shoulder is a clinical diagnosis and is only very rarely the result of an underlying disease. Fortunately (and curiously) once cured it (almost) never comes back on the same shoulder. It often ...
An Evening With George Costigan & Tim Pigott-Smith at Square Chapel Centre for the Arts, Halifax, UK. The evening also included the world premiere of a short play written and directed by Yorkshire writer and fellow Square Chapel patron, Sally Wainwright (Last Tango in Halifax, Happy Valley and Scott & Bailey). This event was sponsored by Slingsby's Harrogate.
An excellent drama based on the true story of one of the worst political scandals of recent years is neatly summed up by the pre-disclaimer which says "some scenes have been imagined, some scenes have been compressed. But mostly you couldn't make it up...". Anna Maxwell Martin is superb in the leading role of American journalist Heather Brooke and is ably supported by Brian Cox, Alex Jennings, Tim Pigott-Smith, David Calder, Neil Pearson and Jeremy Swift. For such an explosively gripping story 58 minutes seems a paltry time scale when another half hour would have spared disappointment... My apologies to those viewers whose enjoyment (hopefully) was spoilt by the film freezing towards the end of the first posting. This copy finally gets there...

Rare archive film, including rare colour footage specific to each battle is included. Detailed analysis of the battle including leaders, commanders, soldiers and weapons is presented. Even if you have no political interest, this is nevertheless a fascinating documentary giving the background to the difficult times John Major had as the Prime Minister who followed Margaret Thatcher. ‘All the usual suspects' are interviewed and have pertinent things to say, whether favourable or otherwise, but major insights (pardon the pun) are revealed by John Major himself. This tremendous film was first shown in October 1999 and was made by the same company that made the equally remarkable film on Mrs Thatcher - "The Downing Street Years" - well worth seeking out as a companion to this programme. The narrator is Tim Pigott-Smith. I do not own the copyright to this film...
