Great app that needs updating This app is amazing, especially when paired with the desktop program. There are some issues though. I currently have over 20,000 comics that are loaded, and the app takes forever to load. I understand completely I'm a rarity for having so many, but I shouldn't have to wait a half an hour to start reading. The app also needs to be updated to take advantage of the SD card better. When I set up my folder to store all my comics on the SD card, I shouldn't have had to work that hard to get to work.

Pretty good. I came from iOS and used Comic Zeal. It is by far thee best comic reader. But now I am using a HTC One. This is a decent app. Still has a number of details I cannot find anywhere in the market close to Comic zeal but still good enough for me not to tear my hair out. It's smooth and fast. Organizes my files correctly. 1,2,3,4 instead of 1, 10, 11,...2,20,21. I would consider this to be the best comic apk for this market. Although the extra features make it a tad slow. Too many taps to reach somewhere.

Errrrgh Used to love this app and recommended it to all my friends. For whatever reason now with latest update pages are slow to respond to touch or swipe, it's taking much longer to load a comic after I select it, and it keeps trying to make a bookmark while I'm going to the next page. Looking for a new app if this doesn't get fixed. C'mon, you were the best!

Pretty darn good. The library sync sometimes doesn't work for some reason. I just wish there were options to change the meta data of the comics on my phone so that I can properly arrange by series. Right now I have my ultimate spiderman in 4 different series because of that. Otherwise it's really good.

Used to be better Used to be better when it seemed to be actively developed. Now a days one needs to perform various workarounds for it to access files on external storage, and these workarounds get reset on every device reboot. Moved on to Perfect Viewer which looks less elegant, but at least handles external storage properly. *Android 6.0 Edit: knocked another star off for it not having received a proper fix for external SD cards (PV does this perfectly) and no updates since 2014. Less stable than ever

Set your SD Card to secondary folder A few jitters on the latest install but if you set up a dummy main folder on your device and set SD Card to secondary it works as well as it ever did since KitKat came out. Still the only comics reader with border removal and this latest upgrade has a new remove some borders option which seems to work well on modern comics.

Awesome but needs smb or dropbox I love this app! It is really easy to use and the series grouping is a great feature keeping everything together even if they are in different locations. I also love the screen saver option. I only wish that it had Dropbox support or smb share as an option, the PC sync is fine but as I keep most of my comics either online or on and external hard drive its a bit long winded.
Development abandoned The development of this app seems to be abandoned. Feature requests and bugs are most ignored. It has some nice features but the day by day usage is compromised by bugs and the outdated interface, making the usage not very pleasant. I recommended looking for another reader.
Some comics only display 2 or 3 pages. I paid for this app and I have to use the free app to read the whole comic sometimes. The worst thing is when it gets right near the end and just stops. I've gotta open the free app just to see if I missed any pages. How is the free app more reliable than the paid version? Fix that and I'll give it 5 stars.
Blatant Rip-Off Love the desktop program. Love the free app. Paid for this because I wanted the wireless sync and wanted to reward the devs for the awesome free software I've been using. The wireless sync doesn't exist. There is a button for it on the free version that tells you to buy the full version, but the wireless sync button is absent in the paid version. Not having ads is nice, but not being lied to is nicer.
Keeps crashing I have had nothing but problems lately with this app. I will say that I have quite a few books organized into smart lists. No matter what I do it keeps using all my physical memory and crashing. On good days it takes me hours to add new books with my pc and add them to my tablet. The android app works great but it's useless with its pc counterpart. I have seen others with this same issue and there doesn't seem to be a way to contact comicrack for support. That is sad because I paid for this app because I pc
Great App...Needs Redesign Hasn't been updated since Feb 2014? Yeah...about that. There's this thing called Lollipop (Android 5.0). Perhaps you could update such a great app to correspond with Material Design? That'd be awesome!
Rubbish My library desynced and can't find the folder(s), can't open the comics directly... I mean for crying out loud. All I want to do is read a bloody comic. Can't find my SD card either navigating through menu and it stops running when I choose 'ok' to find a library. Is it too late to get my money back after 3 years?
WiFi Sync Not Working! ! Only reason I bought this app because of WiFi Sync functionality, which never worked.😡 I tried option to allow app to communicate through Windows Firewall then also sync not worked. The application not even able to find my mobile device for paring with desktop app(both the devices on same network ). I tried few other things nothing works. Either fix the issue Or REFUND MY MONEY! !
Problem on new tablet I really hate that this doesn't work on my new Nextbook tablet running 5.0. It installs and runs but the comic book covers won't show up and it crashes when I try to open a comic. I gave it 5 stars while I could use it.
Abandoned App? This used to be the best comic viewer in the Play Store. Unfortunately, the dev hasn't updated this app since 2014. Been using Material Comic Viewer Pro instead, a modern looking comic viewer with performance that can't be beat. RIP, ComicRack.
Home run!!! Been using this for years on PC. Simple yet fantastic. I had to get it once I saw it on here. I had been using another comic app on here that general worked Fine. Recently I opened some of my comics on the other app and it would corrupt the bottoms of most of the pages on some of my comics. I opened the comics on PC with comic rack just fine so I wanted to try another app to see if the files themselves were getting corrupt during transfer. I found the free version of this tried it and worked so bought it☺TY
Not what I expected. And seems to be dead as far as development is concerned. As a reader, it's perfect. Otherwise, I thought that Windows version acts as a server, and I can select what comic to transfer from my device. Actually, I have to be at my desk and select everything on my PC. Also, ugly (but not really important).
Won't Let Me Sync Comics to SD Card Great reader for my tablet, works perfectly with the wireless once I figured out how to set it up, but I want to set the path that my comics get saved to on my external SD card, which has 32GB of space. Every time I try the buttons to make the folder I created on the SD card the destination is faded out. Will bump rating to 5 stars when I get it working.
This app used to be my favourite - that's why I bought the paid version. Now I find I can't sync straight to SD card, and I have barely any internal storage on my tablet. This is so counter intuitive, it's completely destroyed any faith I had in this software. I would love a refund, or for the problem to be fixed.
No update since... forever By far the best! There is one thing though, sometimes I'm somewhere with no internet, it fails to check if the app is legit and it shuts down... Also, can you add a different theme option?
Powerful Reader UI and controls too complex The ComicRack full version app is packed with features, and customizations. I am pleased to have bought the full version, yet annoyed I have not figured out how to set favorites. One of the coolest features is the live comic wall paper.. and not being able to set favorites I can't specify which covers are my wall paper. This is a frustrating puzzle.
Used to be great Brought my tablet to read during my free vacation time. But when I tried to open it asks for an ONLINE verification which I have no access at the time. Not enough that a purchase was done. The app wont let you read until you verify again. Very dissappointed with purchase that needs to be verified everytime.
Great! Still my favorite comics reading program 5+ years later. I'm an archivist with over 100k digital scans so sorting is very important to me, and my only complaint, the lack of good sorting options in the UI, was fixed in the last UI update. If options, details, organization, etc is important to you, nothing beats this. If you just want a lightweight reader, though, you might want to look elsewhere.
Frustrated I use this app everyday but newest update is horrible. Slow response to touch or swipe. Has taken all the fun out of reading comics and is just frustrating now. If not sorted out soon I will have to switch to another reader.
Would be great but! This app was brilliant until my tablet updated to android 5.1.1. Now it freezes all the time and Android constantly has to ask me if I want to wait for it to respond. Shame really, if this lagging issue is sorted it is easily a 5 star app.
Lack of updates Unresponsive dev same as the app which frequently hangs. Also, Any reason why I need to exit out twice of a comic? Always reloads rather than exiting.! New immersive mode great on nexus 10
Wow I don't normally don't review but like redirecting my comic folder wiped them all. Only one stayed behind. Luckily it's backed up but I'm confused. I loved it before hand. I haven't update android, still lollipop.
I love this app. It syncs all of my comics between all of my devices. The only reason I'm not giving this a 5 star is because it's only eligible for Family Library if purchased after 7/2/2016. I've already purchased two copies of this app, so I'm disappointed that I have to purchase it again to put it on another device.
Love this app. Can read all my comics, have no issues with paid version. I had update issues with free version. It's a great way to keep your collection handy and the sync works really well. Very pleased with this app, well done app elves!!!!
So sad This used to be hands down the best app for comics. Now it's laggy and why the hell did you remove sort by folder... Its the one I used the most... Thanks a bunch. Your lucky the refund deadline already passed...
Galaxy tab s2 This app is pretty OK and that's about it! It freezes way too much for the price I paid for this app. I honestly regret wasting my $$ on this. I should have remained faithful to comicat....
comics is not reopening after reopen, it is not reopening last read page. steps to replicate this issue.. 1. read few pages 2. dont close, pick a sms or notification 3. open recent application 4. open comic rack 5. it is showing correct page with portrait because system set with portrait 6. immediately (automatically) moved to landscape because i am reading landscape view 7. book is closed now I didnt face similar issue in free edition. please add immediate sycn once book is added to favorite list.
Update to my ~2013 review: it's still a great app at its core, but the looks got very dated and the lack of proper SD card support (for WiFi sync, manually copying files will probably work in most cases) is a major drawback. **Original review: I rarely bother reviewing apps, but I feel compelled to say that ComicRack coupled with the Windows application (the integration is a key feature for me) makes a complete solution for managing and reading my comics collection. Add to that the Comicvine scrapper and you get a very powerful tool.
No More Crashing Solved my previous problem with the crashing. My library had a solid .CBR and a few corrupt files that were causing the crashes. Now I have no problems whatsoever, awesome app.
After this app, every time i think "wireless sync" i start to get angry. WHEN it works, it's after a lot of tries and it often doesn't complete the transfer. Good reader, but the support is simply terrible.
The navigation for cellphones is probably the only good feature here, but it's really really good and very customizable. The problems are: nag for donations on desktop counter part despite of the fact that I paid money for the app, no continuous page mode for the desktop version, syncing comics over wifi almost never work despite of being the only feature I paid the app for. Edit: And now the desktop version seem to have forgotten all of my settings lol I think the best possible way to read and sync comics is using some other reader on desktop, use dropbox for syncing and enjoining the free comicrack app on android, you would be nagged for donations anyway so.
I don't have Internet or WiFi at the house. I use it mostly for WiFi friendly places like a coffee shop. It's asking me I need a license check and need to be connected to verify. Looks like I can't use this app for a few weeks. I hate knowing I fully purchased this product but the app closes until I can get online. On to another comic reader...
Check ups Free version is more practical since you can use it always, unlike paid one where each week you have to go online fof program to check its validity..come on..this is not 400usd program, why such paranoia. Not all keep this on phone and not everyone keeps wifi on in house all the time, not to say how it was annoying on vacation where I choose calm small place for peace and then ending up dragging 10inch tablet to bar to unlock my paid program for 100th time
Long time user I feel that I've gotten robbed in the long run, this used to be the go to comic app and now support is dead. If I pay for something it should be stable while creator is sipping margaritas somewhere.
