Kam Chancellor

Kameron Darnel "Kam" Chancellor (born April 3, 1988) is an American football strong safety for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Virginia Tech, and was drafted by the Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He is known for his devastating hit power and playmaking ability.

Chancellor has played five seasons for Seattle, and was recognized for a break-out 2011 season by being sent to the 2012 Pro Bowl. Chancellor is a member of the Legion of Boom.

Early life

Chancellor was born on April 3, 1988 in Norfolk, Virginia to Karen Lambert. Chancellor's mother always had about two or three jobs all the time and there were five siblings all living together. He never had much money growing up and his family made sure he and his siblings stayed off the street and away from violence.

Chancellor attended Matthew Fontaine Maury High School where he played basketball and football as a quarterback and safety. As a senior in 2005, he recorded more than 2,000 passing yards and 500 rushing yards and led his team to a 10–2 record and an appearance in the Group AAA Division 5 playoffs. Chancellor was named the team's most valuable player, and he was also placed on the All-Eastern District first team as well as The Virginian-Pilot All-Tidewater second team. Rivals.com assessed him as the 27th-ranked pro-style quarterback prospect in the nation and the 20th-ranked player in the state of Virginia. SuperPrep and The Roanoke Times rated him the 21st-ranked player in the state.Scout.com assessed Chancellor as a two-star recruit and he accepted a scholarship offer from Virginia Tech.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are a professional American football franchise based in Seattle, Washington. The Seahawks compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league's National Football Conference (NFC) West division. The Seahawks joined the NFL in 1976 as an expansion team, along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Seahawks are owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and are currently coached by Pete Carroll. Since 2002, the Seahawks have played their home games at CenturyLink Field (formerly Qwest Field), located south of downtown Seattle. The Seahawks' fans have twice set the Guinness World Record for the loudest crowd noise at a sporting event, first on September 15, 2013, registering 136.6 dB during a game against the San Francisco 49ers and again on December 2, 2013, during a Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints, with a then record-setting 137.6 dB.

National Football League

The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America, and the highest professional level of American football in the world. Stage name

A stage name, also called a screen name, is a pseudonym used by performers and entertainers such as actors, wrestlers, comedians, and musicians.

Motivation to use a stage name

A performer will often take a stage name because his/her real name is considered unattractive, dull, or unintentionally amusing, is difficult to pronounce or spell, has been used by another notable individual, or projects an undesired image. Sometimes a performer adopts a name that is unusual or outlandish to attract attention. Other performers use a stage name in order to retain anonymity. The equivalent concept among writers is called a nom de plume or pen name, while the term ring name is used in professional wrestling. In radio, the term "radio name" or "air name" is used. For example, well-known talk radio host Rush Limbaugh, who now uses his real name, was known under the radio name Jeff Christie in his days as a top-40 disk jockey.
