Perak
Perak (Malay pronunciation: [peˈraʔ]; Jawi: ڨيراق), one of the 13 states of Malaysia, is the fourth largest state in the country. It borders Kedah and the Thai Yala Province to the north; Penang to the northwest; Kelantan and Pahang to the east; Selangor to the south, and the Straits of Malacca to the west.
The state's administrative capital of Ipoh was known historically for tin-mining activities until the price of the metal dropped, severely affecting the state's economy. The royal capital, however remains at Kuala Kangsar, where the palace of the Sultan of Perak is located.
The Arabic honorific of Perak is Darul Ridzuan ("Abode of Grace").
Name
The state's official name is Perak Darul Ridzuan (Jawi: ڨيراق دار الرّضوان), or "Perak, the Abode of Grace". Perak means silver in Malay, which is probably derived from the silvery colour of tin. In the 1890s, Perak, with the richest alluvial deposits of tin in the world was one of the jewels in the crown of the British Empire. However, some say the name comes from the "glimmer of fish in the water" that sparkled like silver. Darul Ridzuan is the state's Arabic honorific, and can mean either "land" or "abode" of grace.

Ipoh - Tourist Attractions in Malaysia
Ipoh /ˈiːpoʊ/ is the capital city of Perak state, Malaysia. It is approximately 200 km (125 miles) north of Kuala Lumpur and 130 km (81 miles) south of Penang on the North-South Expressway. Ipoh developed into one of Malaysia's main cities around the turn of the 19th century due to the booming tin mining industry. During the British colonial era, Ipoh was Malaysia's second city for administrative purposes. Architecturally, the city centre is characterised by Straits eclectic shop houses. "Did a three days two nights trip to Lumut, Perak. A small coastal town off Pangkor Island, Malaysia. This time we stayed at Swiss Garden Resort Damai Laut. The resort is pretty nice place to relax and has a nice view of sunset in the evenings. Price is around RM 270 per night. Just keep in mind that the resort is not exactly in Lumut Town but another 30 minutes drive away heading north. Its very close to the Lumut Port.
The place is quite secluded in itself, a self contained resort. Therefore, be prepared to dine at the resort restaurants as you would not want to drive out of the resort at night for dinner as the road heading to the resort is quite bad, deserted, no lights and with hair pin bends. A slight mistake would find yourself in the mangrove swamp. Heading to the resort I used the North South Highway and exited at Bidor. From there, just follow the signage to Pangkor. The signage is quite good.
On my return trip, I used the coastal road heading back to Kuala Lumpur. Its quite safe to use this road during daylight but I would not recommend this road for night driving. Few places to visit in Lumut are the Jetty,Mangrove Swamp and just shopping for sea products as Lumut is a fishing town. Please find the attached photographs for your reference.

What was once a valley of old has now exploded to life with the river of adventure, raging waterfalls, rushing rapids, majestic cliffs, magnificent tigers, ancient caves and hot springs with ancient therapeutic properties. Nonetheless, in this video covers only parts of the park.
the Lost World Petting Zoo. Covering an area of 80,000 sq ft , a unique petting zoo has been created within the natural jungle, against a backdrop of limestone hills. Here is a place for recreation and learning for visitors of all ages; a place where families can spend time together interacting with the animals. For many children, and adults too, this is a unique opportunity to appreciate animals from a closer perspective, to be at one with animals of their choice, and at the same time have an enjoyable experience. There are 4,000 animals and 55 species of animal at Lost World Petting Zoo.
