A nice day trip to the wonderful Thean Hou temple in Kuala Lumpur.
The first temple I saw in my life.. I was in KL during the Chinese new Year, Is for that there were a lot of decoration in that temple.
La prima volta che ho visto un tempio. Sono stata in KL durante il caposanno Cinese, e' per questo che c'erano tanti addobbi.

Thean Hou Temple
The Thean Hou Temple (Chinese: 天后宫; pinyin: Tiānhòu gōng; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Thian-hiō-kiong) is a landmark six-tiered Chinese temple in Kuala Lumpur. It is located on a 1.67 acres (6,760 m²) of land atop Robson Heights along Lorong Bellamy, overlooking Jalan Syed Putra (Federal Highway). It was completed in 1987 and officially opened in 1989. The property belongs to and is run by the Selangor & Federal Territory Hainan Association (Malay: Hainan Selangor & Wilayah Persekutuan, Chinese: 雪隆海南会馆). The temple, built by the Hainanese community living in Kuala Lumpur, is dedicated to Goddess Tian Hou (The Heavenly Mother).
History
Thean Hou temple was constructed between 1981 and 1987 at a cost of approximately 7 million Ringgit.
The installation dates of the Goddesses are as follows:
The temple was officially opened on 3 September 1989.
Architectural Features
This syncretic temple with elements of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism is a grandiose structure and represents a successful combination of modern architectural techniques and authentic traditional design featuring imposing pillars, spectacular roofs, ornate carvings and intricate embellishments. Its grand architecture has made it a popular tourist destination.

Whilst visiting Kuala Lumpur we visited the Thean Hou Temple and Batu Caves fon a day trip tour from the city. The limestone forming Batu Caves is said to be around 400 million years old. Thean Hou Temple (or Tian Hou Temple) is a large Chinese (buddhist/taoist) temple built by the Hainanese community living in Kuala Lumpur. We really enjoyed visiting these unique attractions in this wonderful city of Kuala Lumpur.
