Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, popular historian and journalist who has served as Mayor of London since 2008 and as Member of Parliament (MP) for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Johnson previously served as the MP for Henley from 2001 until 2008. A member of the Conservative Party, Johnson considers himself a One Nation Conservative and has been described as a libertarian due to his association with both economically liberal and socially liberal policies.
Born in New York City to upper middle class English parents, Johnson was educated at the European School of Brussels, Ashdown House School, and Eton College. He read Classics at Balliol College, Oxford, where he was a member of the Bullingdon Club and was elected President of the Oxford Union in 1986. Beginning his career in journalism at The Times, he later became The Daily Telegraph's Brussels correspondent, with his articles exerting a strong influence on growing Eurosceptic sentiment among the British right-wing. He became assistant editor from 1994 to 1999 before taking the editorship of The Spectator from 1999 to 2005. Joining the Conservatives, he was elected to the House of Commons as MP for Henley in 2001. Making regular television appearances as well as continuing with his journalism and book writing, Johnson became one of the most conspicuous politicians in the country. Under the Conservative leaders Michael Howard and David Cameron, Johnson served on the opposition front bench, first as Shadow Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries and then for Higher Education.
John Forbes Kerry (born December 11, 1943) is an American politician who is the 68th and current United States Secretary of State. He has served in the United States Senate, and was chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Kerry was the candidate of the Democratic Party in the 2004 presidential election, losing to George W. Bush.
Kerry was born in Aurora, Colorado and attended boarding school in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He graduated from Yale University class of 1966 with a political science major. Kerry enlisted in the Naval Reserve in 1966, and during 1968–1969 served an abbreviated four-month tour of duty in South Vietnam as officer-in-charge (OIC) of a Swift Boat. For that service, he was awarded combat medals that include the Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and three Purple Heart Medals. Securing an early return to the United States, Kerry joined the Vietnam Veterans Against the War organization in which he served as a nationally recognized spokesman and as an outspoken opponent of the Vietnam War. He appeared in the Fulbright Hearings before the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs where he deemed United States war policy in Vietnam to be the cause of war crimes.

The Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has again intervened over the timing of Britain's withdrawal from the EU, saying it can't "drag on". Boris Johnson compares himself to a jar of honey found on a supermarket shelf - 'the product of many countries'. He thinks he is part Jewish, part French, part English, part American, part pterodactyl and, unpredictably, part Turkish. Boris' paternal grandparents played a central role in his upbringing. He knows that his grandfather, 'Johnny', was the son of a Turkish journalist and politician who was ultimately kidnapped and lynched in the early 1920s, but knows little about his life, reputation and the circumstances of his death. Boris' half-French grandmother, 'Granny Butter', had always claimed to be of posh stock. Although Boris and his siblings have always been suspicious of this claim, they do recall their grandmother teaching them to eat crisps with a knife and fork. Boris sets ...

Boris Johnson Accused Of Telling ‘Outright Lies’ During Super Awkward Press Conference With John Kerry. Boris Johnson was accused of telling “outright lies” by an American reporter on Tuesday, as he endured an awkward press conference with US Secretary of State John Kerry. Kerry praised the new foreign secretary as a man of “considerable intellect” who appeared to be “a very smart and capable man”. However the US media which had travelled to London with Kerry were less kind - grilling Johnson on his past comments about US politicians including branding Hillary Clinton a “sadistic nurse” and President Obama “part-Kenyan”. Gardiner Harris, of the New York Times, asked Johnson: “I understand you don’t want to revisit the past, but you have an unusually long history of wild exaggerations a...

Michael Gove says he takes the blame for the rupture with his former friends David Cameron and Boris Johnson and his own calamitous political fall. He compares his behaviour in the days after the Brexit vote to “driving 100 miles per hour and crashing into a brick wall” in a candid interview published in The Times Magazine today. The former justice secretary says he is “most to blame” for first backing Mr Johnson as Tory leader and then knifing him to launch his own campaign to replace Mr Cameron. “Sometimes, my judgment has been faulty. Sometimes, horrendously faulty.” Mr Cameron…

Theresa May Speech _ Conservative Party Conference 2016 _ Boris Johnson _ FULL SPEECH Theresa May delivers her speech during the fourth day of the Conservative party conference in Birmingham Only the Conservatives can build a "united Britain" in which "fairness is restored" and opportunities are shared more equally, Theresa May has said. She told the party's conference the country must and would change after the "quiet revolution" of the Brexit vote. The prime minister said Labour were now seen as the "nasty party" and it was the Conservatives who would "stand up for the weak, and up to the powerful". Government should be a "force for good" to help working people, she argued. In her set-piece speech in Birmingham, she said the vote to leave the EU was a turning point in the UK's histor...

Filmed at Central Hall Westminster on 19th November 2015. On November 19th Intelligence Squared hosted the ultimate clash of civilisations: Greece vs Rome. It was also the ultimate clash of intellectual titans. Boris Johnson, Mayor of London and ardent classicist, made the case for Greece; while Mary Beard, Professor of Classics at Cambridge and redoubtable media star, championed Rome. As Boris argued, the Greeks got there first: in literature, history, art and philosophy. The Iliad and the Odyssey are the earliest surviving epic poems, the foundations on which European literature was built. The Greek myths – the tales of Oedipus, Heracles and Persephone, to name but a few – contain the archetypal plot elements of hubris and nemesis on which even Hollywood films depend today. It was in ...
