A true to the term Time Capsule House, this home holds more treasures than I could ever try to mention here.
Toys that date back to the 50's, through the 60's, 70's, and all the way to the 80's and 90's. A stellar record collection that starts with early jazz and country and continues through the decades stopping somewhere in the mid 80's.
Stacks upon stacks of old magazines that document an entire history of pop culture through the generations, including what looks like every TV Guide ever printed!
Buried beneath stacks of filled garbage bags, piles of magazines clothes and furniture sits an entire families history and stories, staring with original birth certificates, original black and white wedding photos and a teenage girls bedroom with Platinum Blonde posters still on the walls.

Kiss will always be known, above all else, as the band without a face. Until 1983, when the group removed its distinctive makeup, the four members' faces supposedly had never been photographed (although pictures of them applying their makeup for an early photo session ran in Creem magazine in the early Eighties).
Theatrics and basic hard rock have been a main calling card for Kiss, who were one of the biggest-selling acts of the Seventies and who inspired the Kiss Army, as fans refer to themselves. The quartet formed in the heyday of glitter and rock theater, and it set out to define, at first, evil cartoon-character personas, highlighted by Gene Simmons' bass-playing, fire-breathing, tongue-wagging ghoul.
The group was founded by Simmons and star-eyed rhythm guitar-playing frontman Paul Stanley, who met in a band in 1970. They found "Catman" drummer Peter Criss through his ad in Rolling Stone. After rehearsing as a trio, the group took out an ad in the Village Voice for a guitarist with "flash and balls" and discovered Ace Frehley, who adopted a "Spaceman" persona. At the time, they were all working dead-end jobs, with the exception of Simmons, who taught school at P.S. 75 in Manhattan. Their visual image and game plan were in place from the start. After a few New York shows, Kiss met independent television director Bill Aucoin, who helped the group get a deal with Casablanca Records.
The critics hissed at the anonymous heavy-metal thud rock on the band's first three albums and howled at its mock-threatening image. Nonetheless, Kiss hit it off with its fans (the Kiss Army) from the very start. After some hard financial times (an entire 1975 tour was reportedly financed on Aucoin's American Express card), the band took off with Alive! (Number 9, 1975), which contained the Top Twenty hit "Rock and Roll All Nite."
In 1976 the band's sound and image shifted toward not necessarily softer but certainly more commercial fare, beginning with Criss' ballad "Beth" (#7, 1976), a million-seller that he wrote for his wife, Lydia. Accordingly, Kiss' audience grew from mostly male adolescent heavy-metal fans to include more teenyboppers. As the group racked up more and more platinum records - six between 1976 and 1979 - it became increasingly less threatening. Young fans were frequently photographed wearing the makeup of their favorite Kiss member.
On June 28, 1977, Marvel Comics published a Kiss comic book. The red ink used supposedly contained a small amount of blood from the band members themselves. It sold over 400,000 copies. In the fall of 1978 NBC broadcast a feature-length animated cartoon entitled Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park, and Marvel issued a second Kiss comic. But the group's popularity was beginning to wane. Four simultaneously released solo LPs sold poorly — Frehley's was most popular — although the group had several hit singles, including the disco-metal oddity "I Was Made for Loving You" (Number 16, 1979).

My name is Yosuf Agha & I am the creator of this show
“The Renaissance Women of Pakistan.” This is about the group of young women
artist who started in the 1970’s and started real revolution in Pakistan
because this was a very male dominant society.
It was all the artist were male except for a few,
and suddenly these young artist started to come out
from different schools in Karachi.
They started painting in all the galleries & they became very accomplished,
so in the 70’s were very young people & all of them were in the 20’s
and then today you can see after 40 years almost, how far they have gone.
My wife Lubna Agha who did these paintings,
she was very famous artist in the United States & she was also the art director of
Polaroid and artist like Noor Jahan Bilgarami who is also in this show,
she was one of the founder of Indus Valley School and
Riffat Alvi was the manager of VR art gallery for last 30 years and
Naheed & Qudsia & Mehar, all of them were very young artist,
who nobody knew at that time. But, overtime they have kept going &
they have kept working on the art and they have become very famous artist today.

In this exhibition, which is in the remembrance of Lubna Agha.
I am also participating with my work, actually,
this is a very important exhibition & I am thankful to Yosuf Agha,
who has collected us and made us exhibited together with his wife.
So, you can see the maturity of the work. All the artists are displayed here,
I am known for watercolors abstraction and you can see here,
three works of mine which are from ‘let peace survive’,
which is the need of the time. This serial of mine started from 2003
& still surviving. As you can see the conditions around,
peace is more needed now and art actually is something
which communicates peace. If you can understand.
Riffat Alvi
You will not see these types of exhibitions very often;
there are different kinds of exhibition. However,
this exhibition is special as this is to pay tribute to Lubna Agha (late).
The way her husband has organized this show is appreciable.
Naheed Raza
This exhibition is unique & unusual; it only has women artist participants.
this exhibition is to pay tribute to Lubna Agha (Late),
who suffered from cancer in very young age & eventually died in America.
She was a famous artist of Pakistan, this exhibition is to pay her tribute.
These all pictures that were made by different artist according to their
themes & ideas, like, Qudsia Nisar used water colors & made full use of them.
Noor Jahan Bilgrami also made a portrait regarding nature & Rabia Zubairi
created the paintings of Human beings and Hajra Mansoor made a very
traditional painting, she use to make these unique paintings by using water colors.
Paintings that were made by Lubna Agha are also displayed here,
it’s three of them. I am very glad to be here in the show.

It is fun to see this exhibition and it was an act of solacing for the heart &
as well as for the eyes. In the era of 70’s, especially in Karachi
the way women painters has revealed themselves.
There is a huge variety, at one end you will see the eastern culture
displayed by Hajra Mansoor and at other end,
you will find Riffat Alvi’s modern portraits.
Unfortunately, Lubna Agha is no more among us.
She was among the very first few students of Karachi school of Arts
& has achieved landmarks in the field of paintings.
Then, she went to America along with her husband Yosuf Agha,
who has organized this exhibition.
She has her alumni in different parts of the world,
where they got appreciation for their work.

This is a rarely seen video recorded in 1972, recently shown on German Channel ZDF. Mouth & MacNeal were a pop duo from Holland. They formed in 1971 when record producer Hans van Hemert brought the solo talents of Mouth (born Willem Duyn, March 31, 1937) and Maggie MacNeal (born Sjoukje van't Spijker, May 5, 1950) together. Their biggest hit, "How Do You Do", eventually reached #8 in the U.S. in July 1972. The song spent 19 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100 and won a R.I.A.A. gold disc on August 2, 1972. Selling over a million copies in the U.S. alone, global sales exceeded two million.
In December 1974, Mouth and MacNeal parted ways. Big Mouth and his wife Ingrid Kup continued and formed the act Big Mouth & Little Eve, whereas Maggie MacNeal went back to solo performing. MacNeal went on to represent the Netherlands again at the Eurovision Song Contest 1980 held in The Hague, singing "Amsterdam", placing 5th in a field of 19.
'Big Mouth' Willem Duyn died from a heart attack in his hometown of Roswinkel, Holland on December 4, 2004 at the age of 67.

Boney M.
Boney M. is a vocal group created by German record producer Frank Farian. Originally based in Germany, the four original members of the group's official line-up were Jamaican-born singers Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett, Maizie Williams from Montserrat and Bobby Farrell from Aruba. The group was formed in 1976 and achieved popularity during the disco era of the late 1970s. Since the 1980s, various line-ups of the band have performed with different personnel.
History
1970s
German singer-songwriter Frank Farian (real name Franz Reuther) recorded the dance track "Baby Do You Wanna Bump" in December 1974. Farian sang the repeated line "Do you do you wanna bump?" in a deep voice (entirely studio created) as well as performing the high falsetto chorus. When the record was released as a single, it was credited to "Boney M.", a pseudonym Farian had created for himself after watching the Australian detective show Boney.
After a slow start, the song became a hit in the Netherlands and Belgium. It was then that Farian decided to hire performers to 'front' the group for TV performances. The Katja Wolfe booking agency found model-turned-singer Maizie Williams (originally from Montserrat) and her Jamaican singer friend Sheyla Bonnick for him, along with a dancer known only as "Mike" for the first gigs. Also during 1975, a girl named Nathalie joined but was soon replaced by Jamaica-born Claudja Barry. Then Bonnick and Mike left, and Maizie Williams brought in Bobby Farrell, a male exotic dancer from Aruba. Singer Marcia Barrett (also from Jamaica) joined the group, which then went through another change in line-up when Claudja Barry left in February 1976 to pursue a solo career as a disco singer. Finally Liz Mitchell, former member of the Les Humphries Singers, stepped in. The line-up was finalised with Liz Mitchell, Maizie Williams, Marcia Barrett, and Bobby Farrell.

The Poppy Family
The Poppy Family were a successful Canadian pop music group, based in Vancouver, British Columbia. They were popular worldwide in the late 1960s and 1970s.
Career
Seventeen-year-old Susan Pesklevits met Terry Jacks in the mid-1960s while she was a regular performer on the national teen TV show Music Hop as well as many other national TV shows. She later called Jacks to accompany her on rhythm guitar for one of her live performances and eventually, with the addition of Craig McCaw on lead guitar, although she continued to make solo television appearances, Susan decided to dedicate all her live performances to the newly formed trio. The name Poppy Family was chosen when Susan, Terry and Craig were searching for a new name and came across it in the dictionary. Susan and Terry were married in 1967 and Susan Pesklevits became Susan Jacks. Craig McCaw later introduced Satwant Singh on tablas and the Poppy Family's unique sound was complete.
With Susan Jacks on lead vocals, harmony vocals and percussion, Terry Jacks on rhythm guitar and occasional vocals, Craig McCaw on guitar/sitar and Satwant Singh on tablas/drums and other percussion, the group recorded their first album, from which came their international hit "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" (#1 in Canada, #1 in Cashbox and #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100). The album also produced "That's Where I Went Wrong" (#9 in Canada, #29 in the US). "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" and "That's Where I Went Wrong" were both Top 10 Adult Contemporary chart hits as well.

Lubna Agha
Lubna Agha (May 2, 1949 - May 6, 2012) was an American artist. She was of Pakistani descent and lived in Brookline, Massachusetts.
Her art invokes a dialogue between the modern-abstract and traditional forms and practices of Islamic paintings. Her work taps on visual images once a part of daily life but now a part of history—from places as geographically disparate as South Asia and North Africa. She painted mainly on canvas and wood, applying an infinite number of painted pixels and organic shapes that evoke mosaic tiling, intricate carvings, and ornate metalwork.
Her work has been exhibited in art museums and galleries in Pakistan and the United States, as well as Britain, Japan, Jordan, and Switzerland.
Her paintings are part of the permanent collections at the Asian Collection at Bradford Museum, UK, National Council of the Arts, Pakistan, and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, Jordan.
A book about the artist by Marcella Nessom Sirhandi entitled Lubna Agha: Points of Reference was published by The Foundation of Museum of Modern Art, Pakistan in 2007.

Kiss will always be known, above all else, as the band without a face. Until 1983, when the group removed its distinctive makeup, the four members' faces supposedly had never been photographed (although pictures of them applying their makeup for an early photo session ran in Creem magazine in the early Eighties). Theatrics and basic hard rock have been a main calling card for Kiss, who were one of the biggest-selling acts of the Seventies and who inspired the Kiss Army, as fans refer to themselves. The quartet formed in the heyday of glitter and rock theater, and it set out to define, at first, evil cartoon-character personas, highlighted by Gene Simmons' bass-playing, fire-breathing, tongue-wagging ghoul. The group was founded by Simmons and star-eyed rhythm guitar-playing frontman Paul Stanley, who met in a band in 1970. They found "Catman" drummer Peter Criss through his ad in Rolling Stone. After rehearsing as a trio, the group took out an ad in the Village Voice for a guitarist with "flash and balls" and discovered Ace Frehley, who adopted a "Spaceman" persona. At the time, they were all working dead-end jobs, with the exception of Simmons, who taught school at P.S. 75 in Manhattan. Their visual image and game plan were in place from the start. After a few New York shows, Kiss met independent television director Bill Aucoin, who helped the group get a deal with Casablanca Records. The critics hissed at the anonymous heavy-metal thud rock on the band's first three albums and howled at its mock-threatening image. Nonetheless, Kiss hit it off with its fans (the Kiss Army) from the very start. After some hard financial times (an entire 1975 tour was reportedly financed on Aucoin's American Express card), the band took off with Alive! (Number 9, 1975), which contained the Top Twenty hit "Rock and Roll All Nite." In 1976 the band's sound and image shifted toward not necessarily softer but certainly more commercial fare, beginning with Criss' ballad "Beth" (#7, 1976), a million-seller that he wrote for his wife, Lydia. Accordingly, Kiss' audience grew from mostly male adolescent heavy-metal fans to include more teenyboppers. As the group racked up more and more platinum records - six between 1976 and 1979 - it became increasingly less threatening. Young fans were frequently photographed wearing the makeup of their favorite Kiss member. On June 28, 1977, Marvel Comics published a Kiss comic book. The red ink used supposedly contained a small amount of blood from the band members themselves. It sold over 400,000 copies. In the fall of 1978 NBC broadcast a feature-length animated cartoon entitled Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park, and Marvel issued a second Kiss comic. But the group's popularity was beginning to wane. Four simultaneously released solo LPs sold poorly — Frehley's was most popular — although the group had several hit singles, including the disco-metal oddity "I Was Made for Loving You" (Number 16, 1979). -

About The Video Transcription Yosuf Agha My name is Yosuf Agha & I am the creator of this show “The Renaissance Women of Pakistan.” This is about the group of young women artist who started in the 1970’s and started real revolution in Pakistan because this was a very male dominant society. It was all the artist were male except for a few, and suddenly these young artist started to come out from different schools in Karachi. They started painting in all the galleries & they became very accomplished, so in the 70’s were very young people & all of them were in the 20’s and then today you can see after 40 years almost, how far they have gone. My wife Lubna Agha who did these paintings, she was very famous artist in the United States & she was also the art director of Polaroid and artist like Noor Jahan Bilgarami who is also in this show, she was one of the founder of Indus Valley School and Riffat Alvi was the manager of VR art gallery for last 30 years and Naheed & Qudsia & Mehar, all of them were very young artist, who nobody knew at that time. But, overtime they have kept going & they have kept working on the art and they have become very famous artist today. Qudsia Nisar In this exhibition, which is in the remembrance of Lubna Agha. I am also participating with my work, actually, this is a very important exhibition & I am thankful to Yosuf Agha, who has collected us and made us exhibited together with his wife. So, you can see the maturity of the work. All the artists are displayed here, I am known for watercolors abstraction and you can see here, three works of mine which are from ‘let peace survive’, which is the need of the time. This serial of mine started from 2003 & still surviving. As you can see the conditions around, peace is more needed now and art actually is something which communicates peace. If you can understand. Riffat Alvi You will not see these types of exhibitions very often; there are different kinds of exhibition. However, this exhibition is special as this is to pay tribute to Lubna Agha (late). The way her husband has organized this show is appreciable. Naheed Raza This exhibition is unique & unusual; it only has women artist participants. this exhibition is to pay tribute to Lubna Agha (Late), who suffered from cancer in very young age & eventually died in America. She was a famous artist of Pakistan, this exhibition is to pay her tribute. These all pictures that were made by different artist according to their themes & ideas, like, Qudsia Nisar used water colors & made full use of them. Noor Jahan Bilgrami also made a portrait regarding nature & Rabia Zubairi created the paintings of Human beings and Hajra Mansoor made a very traditional painting, she use to make these unique paintings by using water colors. Paintings that were made by Lubna Agha are also displayed here, it’s three of them. I am very glad to be here in the show. Asif Noorani It is fun to see this exhibition and it was an act of solacing for the heart & as well as for the eyes. In the era of 70’s, especially in Karachi the way women painters has revealed themselves. There is a huge variety, at one end you will see the eastern culture displayed by Hajra Mansoor and at other end, you will find Riffat Alvi’s modern portraits. Unfortunately, Lubna Agha is no more among us. She was among the very first few students of Karachi school of Arts & has achieved landmarks in the field of paintings. Then, she went to America along with her husband Yosuf Agha, who has organized this exhibition. She has her alumni in different parts of the world, where they got appreciation for their work. -

This is a rarely seen video recorded in 1972, recently shown on German Channel ZDF. Mouth & MacNeal were a pop duo from Holland. They formed in 1971 when record producer Hans van Hemert brought the solo talents of Mouth (born Willem Duyn, March 31, 1937) and Maggie MacNeal (born Sjoukje van't Spijker, May 5, 1950) together. Their biggest hit, "How Do You Do", eventually reached #8 in the U.S. in July 1972. The song spent 19 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100 and won a R.I.A.A. gold disc on August 2, 1972. Selling over a million copies in the U.S. alone, global sales exceeded two million. In December 1974, Mouth and MacNeal parted ways. Big Mouth and his wife Ingrid Kup continued and formed the act Big Mouth & Little Eve, whereas Maggie MacNeal went back to solo performing. MacNeal went on to represent the Netherlands again at the Eurovision Song Contest 1980 held in The Hague, singing "Amsterdam", placing 5th in a field of 19. 'Big Mouth' Willem Duyn died from a heart attack in his hometown of Roswinkel, Holland on December 4, 2004 at the age of 67. HOW DO YOU DO? (H.V. Hoof / H.V. A lot of detail was lost on the original conversion by whoever encoded it. Group History (From Wikipedia) The Poppy Family was a late 1960s and early 1970s Canadian pop music group, based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Seventeen year old Susan Pesklevits met Terry Jacks in the middle 1960s while she was a regular performer on a national teen TV show called Music Hop as well as many other national TV shows. She later called Jacks to accompany her on rhythm guitar for one of her live performances and eventually, with the addition of Craig McCaw on lead guitar, Susan decided to dedicate all her time to the trio. Craig McCaw introduced Satwant Singh on tablas and they became the Poppy Family. The name was chosen when Susan, Terry and Craig were searching for a new name and came across it in the dictionary. Susan and Terry were married in 1967 and Susan Pesklevits became Susan Jacks. With Susan Jacks on vocals and Terry Jacks on rhythm guitar, along with musicians Craig McCaw (guitar/sitar) and Satwant Singh (tablas/drums), the group recorded their first album, from which came their best known song "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" (No. 1 in Canada and No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts) which was a worldwide hit. Their second and last album Poppy Seeds was recorded with studio musicians after Terry Jacks released Craig and Satwant from the group. Later hits included "That's Where I Went Wrong" (#9, also #27 US), 'Where Evil Grows' (#6, also #45 US), and `Good Friends?'(#10, also "Bubbling Under" the US chart). In the United States "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" and "That's Where I Went Wrong" were both Top 10 Adult Contemporary chart hits as well; "Where Evil Grows" and "Good Friends?" both also hit the US AC chart. The Poppy Family's first two Canadian releases were "Beyond the Clouds" (#75 in 1968), "What Can The Matter Be?" (#53 in 1969). Other releases included "I Was Wondering" (#10 in 1971, also US #100) and "No Good To Cry" (#8 in 1972), "I'll See You There" and "Tryin'". At their career peak, Susan performed "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" on Bobby Darin's 1970 television variety special, The Darin Invasion. They also appeared on other variety shows including Rollin' On The River with Kenny Rogers and The George Kirby Special. Although Susan enjoyed performing live, Terry was not interested and their career ultimately suffered. The "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" single earned the group two 1970 Gold Leaf (Juno) Awards as well as two Moffatt Awards in 1970. The Juno Award is Canada's equivalent of the Grammy Award. The single version of "Which Way You Goin' Billy" went on to sell a total of more than 3½ million worldwide, and was awarded a gold disc.[1] Terry Jacks decided to drop the Poppy Family name in early 1973 and Susan and Terry recorded two solo albums, Terry Jacks' Seasons in the Sun and Susan Jacks' I Thought of You Again. Founded by Hilly Kristal in 1973, it was originally intended to feature its namesake musical styles, but became a forum for American punk and punk-influenced bands like Ramones, Misfits,Television, the Patti Smith Group, Mink Deville, The Dead Boys, The Dictators, The Fleshtones, Richard Hell & The Voidoids, Blondie and Talking Heads. The storefront and large space next door to the club served as the CBGB Record Store for many years. Eventually, in the late eighties, the record store was closed and replaced with a second performance space and art gallery, named CB's 313 Gallery. The gallery went on to showcase many popular bands and singer/songwriters who played in a musical style more akin to acoustic rock, folk, jazz, or experimental music, while the original club continued to present the best in harder, louder post-punk, metal, and alternative rock acts. The club closed in October 2006. The final concert was performed by Patti Smith on Sunday October 15.[1] CBGB Fashions (the CBGB store, wholesale department, and online store) stayed open until October 31 at 315 Bowery. On November 1, 2006 CBGB Fashions moved to 19-23 St. Mark's Place but subsequently closed in the summer of 2008. -

70's Kids Remember KISS!
Kiss will always be known, above all else, as the band without a face. Until 1983, when the group removed its distinctive makeup, the four members' faces supposedly had never been photographed (although pictures of them applying their makeup for an early photo session ran in Creem magazine in the early Eighties). Theatrics and basic hard rock have been a main calling card for Kiss, who were one of the biggest-selling acts of the Seventies and who inspired the Kiss Army, as fans refer to themselves. This is a rarely seen video recorded in 1972, recently shown on German Channel ZDF. Mouth & MacNeal were a pop duo from Holland. They formed in 1971 when record producer Hans van Hemert brought the solo talents of Mouth (born Willem Duyn, March 31, 1937) and Maggie MacNeal (born Sjoukje van't Spijker, May 5, 1950) together. Their biggest hit, "How Do You Do", eventually reached #8 in the U.S. in July 1972. The song spent 19 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100 and won a R.I.A.A. gold disc on August 2, 1972. A true to the term Time Capsule House, this home holds more treasures than I could ever try to mention here.
Toys that date back to the 50's, through the 60's, 70's, and all the way to the 80's and 90's. A stellar record collection that starts with early jazz and country and continues through the decades stopping somewhere in the mid 80's.
Stacks upon stacks of old magazines that document an entire history of pop culture through the generations, including what looks like every TV Guide ever printed!
Buried beneath stacks of filled garbage bags, piles of magazines clothes and furniture sits an entire families history and stories, staring with original birth certificates, original black and white wedding photos and a teenage girls bedroom with Platinum Blonde posters still on the walls.

At the time, they were all working dead-end jobs, with the exception of Simmons, who taught school at P.S. 75 in Manhattan. Their visual image and game plan were in place from the start. After a few New York shows, Kiss met independent television director Bill Aucoin, who helped the group get a deal with Casablanca Records.
The critics hissed at the anonymous heavy-metal thud rock on the band's first three albums and howled at its mock-threatening image. Nonetheless, Kiss hit it off with its fans (the Kiss Army) from the very start. After some hard financial times (an entire 1975 tour was reportedly financed on Aucoin's American Express card), the band took off with Alive! (Number 9, 1975), which contained the Top Twenty hit "Rock and Roll All Nite."
In 1976 the band's sound and image shifted toward not necessarily softer but certainly more commercial fare, beginning with Criss' ballad "Beth" (#7, 1976), a million-seller that he wrote for his wife, Lydia. Accordingly, Kiss' audience grew from mostly male adolescent heavy-metal fans to include more teenyboppers. As the group racked up more and more platinum records - six between 1976 and 1979 - it became increasingly less threatening. Young fans were frequently photographed wearing the makeup of their favorite Kiss member.
On June 28, 1977, Marvel Comics published a Kiss comic book. The red ink used supposedly contained a small amount of blood from the band members themselves. It sold over 400,000 copies. In the fall of 1978 NBC broadcast a feature-length animated cartoon entitled Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park, and Marvel issued a second Kiss comic. But the group's popularity was beginning to wane. Four simultaneously released solo LPs sold poorly — Frehley's was most popular — although the group had several hit singles, including the disco-metal oddity "I Was Made for Loving You" (Number 16, 1979).

My name is Yosuf Agha & I am the creator of this show
“The Renaissance Women of Pakistan.” This is about the group of young women
artist who started in the 1970’s and started real revolution in Pakistan
because this was a very male dominant society.
It was all the artist were male except for a few,
and suddenly these young artist started to come out
from different schools in Karachi.
They started painting in all the galleries & they became very accomplished,
so in the 70’s were very young people & all of them were in the 20’s
and then today you can see after 40 years almost, how far they have gone.
My wife Lubna Agha who did these paintings,
she was very famous artist in the United States & she was also the art director of
Polaroid and artist like Noor Jahan Bilgarami who is also in this show,
she was one of the founder of Indus Valley School and
Riffat Alvi was the manager of VR art gallery for last 30 years and
Naheed & Qudsia & Mehar, all of them were very young artist,
who nobody knew at that time. But, overtime they have kept going &
they have kept working on the art and they have become very famous artist today.

In this exhibition, which is in the remembrance of Lubna Agha.
I am also participating with my work, actually,
this is a very important exhibition & I am thankful to Yosuf Agha,
who has collected us and made us exhibited together with his wife.
So, you can see the maturity of the work. All the artists are displayed here,
I am known for watercolors abstraction and you can see here,
three works of mine which are from ‘let peace survive’,
which is the need of the time. This serial of mine started from 2003
& still surviving. As you can see the conditions around,
peace is more needed now and art actually is something
which communicates peace. If you can understand.
Riffat Alvi
You will not see these types of exhibitions very often;
there are different kinds of exhibition. However,
this exhibition is special as this is to pay tribute to Lubna Agha (late).
The way her husband has organized this show is appreciable.
Naheed Raza
This exhibition is unique & unusual; it only has women artist participants.
this exhibition is to pay tribute to Lubna Agha (Late),
who suffered from cancer in very young age & eventually died in America.
She was a famous artist of Pakistan, this exhibition is to pay her tribute.
These all pictures that were made by different artist according to their
themes & ideas, like, Qudsia Nisar used water colors & made full use of them.
Noor Jahan Bilgrami also made a portrait regarding nature & Rabia Zubairi
created the paintings of Human beings and Hajra Mansoor made a very
traditional painting, she use to make these unique paintings by using water colors.
Paintings that were made by Lubna Agha are also displayed here,
it’s three of them. I am very glad to be here in the show.

It is fun to see this exhibition and it was an act of solacing for the heart &
as well as for the eyes. In the era of 70’s, especially in Karachi
the way women painters has revealed themselves.
There is a huge variety, at one end you will see the eastern culture
displayed by Hajra Mansoor and at other end,
you will find Riffat Alvi’s modern portraits.
Unfortunately, Lubna Agha is no more among us.
She was among the very first few students of Karachi school of Arts
& has achieved landmarks in the field of paintings.
Then, she went to America along with her husband Yosuf Agha,
who has organized this exhibition.
She has her alumni in different parts of the world,
where they got appreciation for their work.

This is a rarely seen video recorded in 1972, recently shown on German Channel ZDF. Mouth & MacNeal were a pop duo from Holland. They formed in 1971 when record producer Hans van Hemert brought the solo talents of Mouth (born Willem Duyn, March 31, 1937) and Maggie MacNeal (born Sjoukje van't Spijker, May 5, 1950) together. Their biggest hit, "How Do You Do", eventually reached #8 in the U.S. in July 1972. The song spent 19 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100 and won a R.I.A.A. gold disc on August 2, 1972. Selling over a million copies in the U.S. alone, global sales exceeded two million.
In December 1974, Mouth and MacNeal parted ways. Big Mouth and his wife Ingrid Kup continued and formed the act Big Mouth & Little Eve, whereas Maggie MacNeal went back to solo performing. MacNeal went on to represent the Netherlands again at the Eurovision Song Contest 1980 held in The Hague, singing "Amsterdam", placing 5th in a field of 19.
'Big Mouth' Willem Duyn died from a heart attack in his hometown of Roswinkel, Holland on December 4, 2004 at the age of 67.

The Poppy Family was a late 1960s and early 1970s Canadian pop music group, based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Seventeen year old Susan Pesklevits met Terry Jacks in the middle 1960s while she was a regular performer on a national teen TV show called Music Hop as well as many other national TV shows. She later called Jacks to accompany her on rhythm guitar for one of her live performances and eventually, with the addition of Craig McCaw on lead guitar, Susan decided to dedicate all her time to the trio. Craig McCaw introduced Satwant Singh on tablas and they became the Poppy Family. The name was chosen when Susan, Terry and Craig were searching for a new name and came across it in the dictionary. Susan and Terry were married in 1967 and Susan Pesklevits became Susan Jacks.
With Susan Jacks on vocals and Terry Jacks on rhythm guitar, along with musicians Craig McCaw (guitar/sitar) and Satwant Singh (tablas/drums), the group recorded their first album, from which came their best known song "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" (No. 1 in Canada and No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts) which was a worldwide hit. Their second and last album Poppy Seeds was recorded with studio musicians after Terry Jacks released Craig and Satwant from the group. Later hits included "That's Where I Went Wrong" (#9, also #27 US), 'Where Evil Grows' (#6, also #45 US), and `Good Friends?'(#10, also "Bubbling Under" the US chart). In the United States "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" and "That's Where I Went Wrong" were both Top 10 Adult Contemporary chart hits as well; "Where Evil Grows" and "Good Friends?" both also hit the US AC chart. The Poppy Family's first two Canadian releases were "Beyond the Clouds" (#75 in 1968), "What Can The Matter Be?" (#53 in 1969). Other releases included "I Was Wondering" (#10 in 1971, also US #100) and "No Good To Cry" (#8 in 1972), "I'll See You There" and "Tryin'".
At their career peak, Susan performed "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" on Bobby Darin's 1970 television variety special, The Darin Invasion. They also appeared on other variety shows including Rollin' On The River with Kenny Rogers and The George Kirby Special. Although Susan enjoyed performing live, Terry was not interested and their career ultimately suffered.
The "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" single earned the group two 1970 Gold Leaf (Juno) Awards as well as two Moffatt Awards in 1970. The Juno Award is Canada's equivalent of the Grammy Award. The single version of "Which Way You Goin' Billy" went on to sell a total of more than 3½ million worldwide, and was awarded a gold disc.[1]
Terry Jacks decided to drop the Poppy Family name in early 1973 and Susan and Terry recorded two solo albums, Terry Jacks' Seasons in the Sun and Susan Jacks' I Thought of You Again. Susan left the marriage later that same year.

The Poppy Family was a late 1960s and early 1970s Canadian pop music group, based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Seventeen year old Susan Pesklevits met Terry Jacks in the middle 1960s while she was a regular performer on a national teen TV show called Music Hop as well as many other national TV shows. She later called Jacks to accompany her on rhythm guitar for one of her live performances and eventually, with the addition of Craig McCaw on lead guitar, Susan decided to dedicate all her time to the trio. Craig McCaw introduced Satwant Singh on tablas and they became the Poppy Family. The name was chosen when Susan, Terry and Craig were searching for a new name and came across it in the dictionary. Susan and Terry were married in 1967 and Susan Pesklevits became Susan Jacks.
With Susan Jacks on vocals and Terry Jacks on rhythm guitar, along with musicians Craig McCaw (guitar/sitar) and Satwant Singh (tablas/drums), the group recorded their first album, from which came their best known song "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" (No. 1 in Canada and No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts) which was a worldwide hit. Their second and last album Poppy Seeds was recorded with studio musicians after Terry Jacks released Craig and Satwant from the group. Later hits included "That's Where I Went Wrong" (#9, also #27 US), 'Where Evil Grows' (#6, also #45 US), and `Good Friends?'(#10, also "Bubbling Under" the US chart). In the United States "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" and "That's Where I Went Wrong" were both Top 10 Adult Contemporary chart hits as well; "Where Evil Grows" and "Good Friends?" both also hit the US AC chart. The Poppy Family's first two Canadian releases were "Beyond the Clouds" (#75 in 1968), "What Can The Matter Be?" (#53 in 1969). Other releases included "I Was Wondering" (#10 in 1971, also US #100) and "No Good To Cry" (#8 in 1972), "I'll See You There" and "Tryin'".
At their career peak, Susan performed "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" on Bobby Darin's 1970 television variety special, The Darin Invasion. They also appeared on other variety shows including Rollin' On The River with Kenny Rogers and The George Kirby Special. Although Susan enjoyed performing live, Terry was not interested and their career ultimately suffered.
The "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" single earned the group two 1970 Gold Leaf (Juno) Awards as well as two Moffatt Awards in 1970. The Juno Award is Canada's equivalent of the Grammy Award. The single version of "Which Way You Goin' Billy" went on to sell a total of more than 3½ million worldwide, and was awarded a gold disc.[1]
Terry Jacks decided to drop the Poppy Family name in early 1973 and Susan and Terry recorded two solo albums, Terry Jacks' Seasons in the Sun and Susan Jacks' I Thought of You Again. Susan left the marriage later that same year.

Founded by Hilly Kristal in 1973, it was originally intended to feature its namesake musical styles, but became a forum for American punk and punk-influenced bands like Ramones, Misfits,Television, the Patti Smith Group, Mink Deville, The Dead Boys, The Dictators, The Fleshtones, Richard Hell & The Voidoids, Blondie and Talking Heads.
The storefront and large space next door to the club served as the CBGB Record Store for many years. Eventually, in the late eighties, the record store was closed and replaced with a second performance space and art gallery, named CB's 313 Gallery. The gallery went on to showcase many popular bands and singer/songwriters who played in a musical style more akin to acoustic rock, folk, jazz, or experimental music, while the original club continued to present the best in harder, louder post-punk, metal, and alternative rock acts.
The club closed in October 2006. The final concert was performed by Patti Smith on Sunday October 15.[1] CBGB Fashions (the CBGB store, wholesale department, and online store) stayed open until October 31 at 315 Bowery. On November 1, 2006 CBGB Fashions moved to 19-23 St. Mark's Place but subsequently closed in the summer of 2008.

Sega Ages Memorial Selection Vol.2, just like Vol.1 packs a bunch of Sega's early arcade games from the 70's and 80's onto a single disc.
Samurai (1979) is a simple, early action game where you play the role of a red samurai fending off waves of attacking blue samurais and ninjas. This is the only home version and MAME apparently doesn't support sound for this game so unless you own an original arcade machine, this is the only way to fully experience this game.
Monaco GP (1979) was one of Sega's first racing games and precursor of the legendary Super Monaco GP. The original was programed using TTL-based logic circuits so did not have a central CPU. As a result this game is not supported by MAME.
Star Jacker (1983) is a vertical scrolling space shooter that was a rip-off of Xevious (which came out the same year) with one major difference. Instead of controlling a single ship, you control a whole wing of little space fighters which disappear one by one as you get hit. As an added twist, since all of the ships fire their guns when you press the button and there is no power-up system to speak of, the game gets harder as you lose ships because you're also losing precious fire-power.
Sindbad Mystery (1983) is a maze game clearly based on Sinbad the Sailor from The Book of One Thousand and One Nights and star of several awesome movies. The aim of the game is to collect clues (displayed as little question marks) covering the islands to uncover a hidden treasure (which must also be collected) while avoiding wizards, blue bears and evil frogs. This game only has three levels so is quite short.
Doki Doki Penguin Land (1985) is a spin-off of another Sega arcade game called "Pengo" and is arguably more well known. Penguin Land is a puzzle platformer and great great grandad of Billy Hatcher. The aim of the game is to (you guessed it) get your giant egg to the end of the level without breaking it or getting caught by enemy polar bears. There were a bunch of ports and remakes of this game for several platforms but few of them successfully made it west. I myself still have my old GameBoy copy.
Ninja Princess (1985) is my favorite game of this collection. It's a vertical scrolling shooter where you play as female ninja who has to storm a castle and kill the evil lord within in order to rescue her father and save her homeland. It holds up very well with colourful graphics and smooth gameplay. You can shoot in eight directions and have great freedom of movement when compared to most other arcade games of the time. Princess Kurumi was also one of the first "strong female protagonists" in gaming history, beating out Samus Aran by a full year. This game was released in the west as "Sega Ninja" and got a pretty good port to the Master System as "The Ninja" but unfortunately to appeal better to "western tastes", Princess Kurumi was replaced with a male protagonist out to (of course) rescue a princess. Because in the west only men are allowed to waste hundreds of bad guys, storm castles and kill evil lords, duh.

Although the shooting and the editing is not very dynamic, and you can regret the lack of archives footage, the interview are really well done and make you feel the excitement of these early days of a bunch of kids who wanted to push the boundaries of Rockabilly toward something new. Interviewed witnesses are well chosen too. You have musicians from influential bands that all helped defined the genre in their own way : Nigel Lewis (Meteors), Alan Wilson (Sharks), Steve Whitehouse (Sharks and Frenzy), Chuck Harvey (Frantic Flintstones), Eric and Jeroen Haamer (Batmobile), Mark Harman (Restless), Mark Pennington (Caravans), Humungus (Coffin Nails) and some more.

Sunrunner creates a fusion of prog rock and 70’s/ 80’s style metal with an eclectic exotic twist. The first release, ‘Eyes of the Master’ (2011) the band was more prog rock with heavy metal leanings. The subtle exploration of ethnic music can be heard throughout most of their music, while additional use of acoustic guitars, flute, violin and percussion, add worldly textures to the heavy music.
With the second release, ‘Time In Stone’ (2013), they delve more into their roots of traditional heavy metal while prog rock influences. The addition of a second guitar, opened up dueling harmonies rounding out the overall sound. “Is it metal? Is it prog? Or some sort of new hybrid?” - The Portland Press on the second album.
‘Heliodromus’ is the third full length album set for release in September 2015 and is their most ambitious to date. With one track clocking in at over 21 minutes (no jamming), the disc explores themes of the Mithraic Mysteries and the rebirth of the Sunrunner creature for a tour through the cosmos. "Heliodromus", the third full length released by Sunrunner in September 2015 (Minotauro Records - Italy), is the most epic one to date, defining the term "heavy-prog" as the bands genre.

Sunrunner creates a fusion of prog rock and 70’s/ 80’s style metal with an eclectic exotic twist. The first release, ‘Eyes of the Master’ (2011) the band was more prog rock with heavy metal leanings. The subtle exploration of ethnic music can be heard throughout most of their music, while additional use of acoustic guitars, flute, violin and percussion, add worldly textures to the heavy music.
With the second release, ‘Time In Stone’ (2013), they delve more into their roots of traditional heavy metal while prog rock influences. The addition of a second guitar, opened up dueling harmonies rounding out the overall sound. “Is it metal? Is it prog? Or some sort of new hybrid?” - The Portland Press on the second album.
‘Heliodromus’ is the third full length album set for release in September 2015 and is their most ambitious to date. With one track clocking in at over 21 minutes (no jamming), the disc explores themes of the Mithraic Mysteries and the rebirth of the Sunrunner creature for a tour through the cosmos. So it turns out that disco was actually a revolutionary tool that ended the oppression of women and black and gay people in the US. Who knew?
Disco ... more than just a cheesy, glittery music genre, according to The Secret Disco Revolution.
I like disco as much as the next person, which is to say I like it at night, in moderate helpings, and only when accompanied by spirits. Disco has long been the musical genre to caricature rather than savour, best enjoyed in the background on hazy nights out rather than as a legitimate musical experience. So presented with the opportunity to sit through a two-hour disco documentary at the London film festival, I was a bit circumspect.
As you shimmy through the world of disco, you start to believe in its subversive nature. Finding its home in dark nightclubs where class, gender, race and sexual boundaries disappeared completely, early disco was the music that brought people together – all without the music industry's hegemony over the radio and Billboard charts.
Meanwhile, the likes of Gloria Gaynor, Thelma Houston, Martha Wash, KC from KC and the Sunshine Band and Kool from Kool and the Gang bring us back to the reality of being a disco musician, recalling riding the wave from being an underground hit to a record-industry product that was made cheap and sold big.
None of them see themselves as emissaries of the revolution, but by this point you feel a bit sorry for them for not understanding their political worth. KC takes himself particularly seriously, still bitter at the music moguls who tore him away from funk and pushed him to the beats of Get Down Tonight, only to be left to the dogs when rock came along.
As Secret Disco Revolution often reminds us, the kings and queens of the era rarely saw the political statement they were making, and it seems with the Village People, their fans didn't either. But change was happening all the same, and you can't help but respect disco's masterminds – whoever they were – for coming up with such a clever plan.
