Cold Wind

"Cold Wind" is a single by Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire. The song is not found on any of their studio albums. It was released in August 2005 via Merge Records, and was featured on the television soundtrack album Six Feet Under, Vol. 2: Everything Ends. The song was played live during the band's encore on June 1, 2007 at Berkeley's Hearst Greek Theatre, as the song's lyrics refer to San Francisco.

The single was pressed on clear 7" vinyl and featured the band's cover of "Brazil" (a.k.a. "Aquarela do Brasil"). The single is out of print.

Joy Angela Villa (born April 25, 1991), better known by her stage name Princess Joy Villa, is a California-born American singer and songwriter living in New York.

Life and work

Villa was born in Orange County California and started performing at age 5.

Villa identifies as mixed biracial background of Afro American, Italian, and Choctaw Indian. Her father Rev. Joseph Villa was Italian-American and her mother Mildred Angela Pierce Villa was African American, and Choctaw Indian. Her great uncle on her mother's side was jazz vocalist Kenny Hagood who performed with Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonious Monk.

Villa worked as an actress and producer from age 10. From age 14-16 she was with Youth Network TV on Comcast Television and has appeared in CSI: NY, Heroes Season 4, Ox, The Valley Girls and MTV Next.

Recovery (Eminem album)

Recovery is the seventh studio album by American rapper Eminem. It was released on June 18, 2010, by Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records as the follow-up to Eminem's Relapse (2009). Originally planned to be released as Relapse 2, the album was renamed to Recovery when Eminem found the music of the new album different from its predecessor.

Production of the album took place during 2009 to 2010 at several recording studios and was handled by various record producers, including Alex da Kid, Just Blaze, Boi-1da, Jim Jonsin, DJ Khalil, Mr. Porter and Dr. Dre. Eminem also collaborated with artists such as Pink, Lil Wayne, and Rihanna for the album. Recovery featured more introspective and emotional content than its predecessor and the theme of the album revolved around his positive changes, anxiety, and emotional drives. To promote the album, he performed the album's songs live on televised shows, at awards ceremonies, musical events and also headed The Recovery Tour. It spawned four singles; "Not Afraid", "Love the Way You Lie", "No Love" and "Space Bound" with the former two both reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Arcade Fire

Arcade Fire are a Canadian indie rock band based in Montreal, Quebec consisting of husband and wife Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, along with Win's younger brother Will Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury and Jeremy Gara. The band's current touring line-up also includes former core member Sarah Neufeld, frequent collaborator Owen Pallett, two additional percussionists, Diol Edmond and Tiwill Duprate, and saxophonists Matt Bauder and Stuart Bogie.

Founded in 2001 by friends and classmates Win Butler and Josh Deu, the band came to prominence in 2004 with the release of their critically acclaimed debut album Funeral. Their second studio album, Neon Bible, won them the 2008 Meteor Music Award for Best International Album and the 2008 Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year. Their third studio album, The Suburbs, was released in 2010 to critical acclaim and commercial success. It received many accolades, including the 2011 Grammy for Album of the Year, the 2011 Juno Award for Album of the Year, and the 2011 Brit Award for Best International Album. Étude Op. 25, No. 11 (Chopin)

Étude Op. 25, No. 11, in A minor, often referred to as the Winter Wind in English and Seasoned Plants in some other languages, is a solo piano technical study composed by Frédéric Chopin in 1836. It was first published together with all études of Opus 25 in 1837, in France, Germany, and England. The first French edition indicates a common time time signature, but the manuscript and the first German edition both feature cut time. The first four bars that characterize the melody were added just before publication at the advice of Charles A. Hoffmann, a friend.

Structure

Étude Op. 25, No. 11 is a study for developing stamina, dexterity, and technique - essential skills for any concert pianist. It begins with a piano introduction of the main melody. The first theme follows, consisting of tumultuous cascades of semiquaver-tuplets (sixteenth-note-tuplets) and a leaping figure for the left hand in the relative major, C major, which shortly segues into a repetition of the first theme. It finishes with a short development into a fortissimo coda, and ends with one final statement of the theme.
