During the United Nations General Assembly Special Session (UNGASS) on the world drug problem—whose dates strangely centered on April 20, or 4/20—the LA Times quoted the UN's new plan to decriminalize marijuana, end the war on drugs, and puts its resources toward harm reduction and health care. Then the UN denounced the hoax, while the real UNGASS failed to deliver any progressive change in the increasingly oppressive war on drugs.
