Phillips Brooks (1835 - 1893) was one of the finest and most famous clergyman in the nineteenth century; he was acknowledged as a masterful preacher. His teachings were filled with understanding, compassion, and encouragement. He spent most of his life as rector of Trinity Church, Boston, and served briefly as Episcopal bishop of Massachusetts at the end of it (1891 - 1893). His life was a course of gaining an increasing name as preacher and patriot. In addition to his moral stature, he was a man of great physical bearing as well, standing six feet four inches tall. During the American Civil War he upheld the cause of the North and opposed slavery, and his sermon on the death of Abraham Lincoln was an eloquent expression of the character of both men. He was asked to be the full-time chaplain at Harvard University (with whose faculty and students he maintained a close relationship to the end of his life), but he later wrote, "{My only ambition} is to be a parish priest ...” He died unmarried in 1893, after an episcopate of only 15 months. His death was a major event in the history of Boston. One observer reported: "They buried him like a king. Harvard students carried his body on their shoulders. All barriers of denomination were down. Roman Catholics and Unitarians felt that a great man had fallen in Israel." Brooks's understanding of individuals of other ways and thought, and of other religious traditions, gained a following across a broad segment of society,... His influence as a religious leader was unique. The degree of STD had been conferred upon him by Harvard (1877) and Columbia (1887), and the Doctor of Divinity degree by the University of Oxford, England (1885). Phillip Brooks demonstrated a great deal of promise early in his career as a Jazz pianist, keyboardist and producer. By the age of 9 years old, this Detroit native had already began to write songs to his jazzy piano styling, and by his teens he was recording and performing live. These early performance captured the attention of many prominent musicians and producers like Gospel recording artist and Stellar Award Winner Thomas Whitfield from Detroit MI, who took an interest in Phillip and his musical future.
Thomas began to introduce Phillip to many opportunities for showcasing his musical sound and style. To his musical fortune are recordings with Gospel artist Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Rev. Paul Morton, Thomas Whitfield, The Soul Children, out of Chicago IL, and many others. Phillip also performed as a keyboardist with Commission and Music Director for Vanessa Bell Armstrong.
In 1994, Phillip's musical resume began to expand outside the Gospel genre as he was asked by Anita Baker's producer Mike Powell to write music for Recording artist Guess, which was released on Warner Brother's record label. Phillip also toured with Mary J Blidge 411 tour and the R&B; group Silk Produced by Keith Sweat. In 2003, Phillip was contracted as Music Director for Jazz artist and former NBA star Wayman Tisdale.
After touring the country with Wayman, Phillip has found his Genre where he is most expressive and creative. His technique in smooth jazz are demonstrated in his new release entitled "JUST BETWEEN US' under his own music label The MOJOY MUSIC Label. Available June 4th 2008 at CD baby.com.

Phillips Brooks
Phillips Brooks (December 13, 1835 – January 23, 1893) was an American Episcopal clergyman and author, long the Rector of Boston's Trinity Church and briefly Bishop of Massachusetts, and particularly remembered as lyricist of the Christmas hymn, "O Little Town of Bethlehem".
In the Episcopal liturgical calendar he is remembered on January 23.
Background
Early life and education
Born in Boston, Brooks was descended through his father, William Gray Brooks, from the Rev. John Cotton; through his mother, Mary Ann Phillips, he was a great-grandson of Samuel Phillips, Jr., founder of Phillips Academy (Andover, Massachusetts). Three of Brooks' five brothers – Frederic, Arthur and John Cotton – were eventually ordained in the Episcopal Church.
Phillips Brooks prepared for college at the Boston Latin School and graduated from Harvard University in 1855 at the age of 20, where he was elected to the A.D. Club. He worked briefly as a school teacher at Boston Latin, but, upon being fired, felt that he had failed miserably. He wrote, "I do not know what will become of me and I do not care much.… I wish I were fifteen years old again. I believe I might become a stunning man: but somehow or other I do not seem in the way to come to much now." In 1856 he began to study for ordination in the Episcopal Church in the Virginia Theological Seminary at Alexandria, Virginia. While a seminarian there, he preached at Sharon Chapel (now All Saints Episcopal Church, Sharon Chapel) in nearby Fairfax County.

Mark Antony
Marcus Antonius (Latin: M·ANTONIVS·M·F·M·N; January 14, 83 BC – August 1, 30 BC), commonly known in English as Mark or Marc Antony, was a Roman politician and general who played a critical role in the transformation of the Roman Republic from an oligarchy into the autocratic Roman Empire.
Antony was a supporter of Julius Caesar, and served as one of his generals during the conquest of Gaul and the Civil War. Antony was appointed administrator of Italy while Caesar eliminated political opponents in Greece, North Africa, and Spain. After Caesar's death in 44 BC, Antony joined forces with Marcus Aemilius Lepidus, another of Caesar's generals, and Octavian, Caesar's nephew and adopted son, forming a three-man dictatorship known to historians as the Second Triumvirate. The Triumvirs defeated Caesar's murderers, the Liberatores, at the Battle of Philippi in 42 BC, and divided the government of the Republic between themselves. Antony was assigned Rome's eastern provinces, including the client kingdom of Egypt, then ruled by Cleopatra VII Philopator, and was given the command in Rome's war against Parthia.

His teachings were filled with understanding, compassion, and encouragement. He spent most of his life as rector of Trinity Church, Boston, and served briefly as Episcopal bishop of Massachusetts at the end of it (1891 1893). His life was a course of gaining an increasing name as preacher and patriot. In addition to his moral stature, he was a man of great physical bearing as well, standing six feet four inches tall. During the American Civil War he upheld the cause of the North and opposed slavery, and his sermon on the death of Abraham Lincoln was an eloquent expression of the character of both men. He was asked to be the full-time chaplain at Harvard University (with whose faculty and students he maintained a close relationship to the end of his life), but he later wrote, {My only ambition} is to be a parish priest ... He died unmarried in 1893, after an episcopate of only 15 months. His death was a major event in the history of Boston. One observer reported: They buried him like a king. Harvard students carried his body on their shoulders. All barriers of denomination were down. Roman Catholics and Unitarians felt that a great man had fallen in Israel. Brooks's understanding of individuals of other ways and thought, and of other religious traditions, gained a following across a broad segment of society,... His influence as a religious leader was unique. The degree of STD had been conferred upon him by Harvard (1877) and Columbia (1887), and the Doctor of Divinity degree by the University of Oxford, England (1885). Phillip Brooks demonstrated a great deal of promise early in his career as a Jazz pianist, keyboardist and producer. By the age of 9 years old, this Detroit native had already began to write songs to his jazzy piano styling, and by his teens he was recording and performing live. These early performance captured the attention of many prominent musicians and producers like Gospel recording artist and Stellar Award Winner Thomas Whitfield from Detroit MI, who took an interest in Phillip and his musical future.
Thomas began to introduce Phillip to many opportunities for showcasing his musical sound and style. To his musical fortune are recordings with Gospel artist Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Rev. Paul Morton, Thomas Whitfield, The Soul Children, out of Chicago IL, and many others. Phillip also performed as a keyboardist with Commission and Music Director for Vanessa Bell Armstrong.

Phillips Brooks (1835 1893) was one of the finest and most famous clergyman in the nineteenth century; he was acknowledged as a masterful preacher.
His teachings were filled with understanding, compassion, and encouragement. He spent most of his life as rector of Trinity Church, Boston, and served briefly as Episcopal bishop of Massachusetts at the end of it (1891 1893). His life was a course of gaining an increasing name as preacher and patriot. In addition to his moral stature, he was a man of great physical bearing as well, standing six feet four inches tall. During the American Civil War he upheld the cause of the North and opposed slavery, and his sermon on the death of Abraham Lincoln was an eloquent expression of the character of both men. He was asked to be the full-time chaplain at Harvard University (with whose faculty and students he maintained a close relationship to the end of his life), but he later wrote, {My only ambition} is to be a parish priest ... He died unmarried in 1893, after an episcopate of only 15 months.
His death was a major event in the history of Boston. One observer reported: They buried him like a king. Harvard students carried his body on their shoulders. All barriers of denomination were down. Roman Catholics and Unitarians felt that a great man had fallen in Israel. Brooks's understanding of individuals of other ways and thought, and of other religious traditions, gained a following across a broad segment of society,... His influence as a religious leader was unique.

Phillip Brooks demonstrated a great deal of promise early in his career as a Jazz pianist, keyboardist and producer. By the age of 9 years old, this Detroit native had already began to write songs to his jazzy piano styling, and by his teens he was recording and performing live. These early performance captured the attention of many prominent musicians and producers like Gospel recording artist and Stellar Award Winner Thomas Whitfield from Detroit MI, who took an interest in Phillip and his musical future.
Thomas began to introduce Phillip to many opportunities for showcasing his musical sound and style. To his musical fortune are recordings with Gospel artist Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Rev. Paul Morton, Thomas Whitfield, The Soul Children, out of Chicago IL, and many others. Phillip also performed as a keyboardist with Commission and Music Director for Vanessa Bell Armstrong.
In 1994, Phillip's musical resume began to expand outside the Gospel genre as he was asked by Anita Baker's producer Mike Powell to write music for Recording artist Guess, which was released on Warner Brother's record label. Phillip also toured with Mary J Blidge 411 tour and the R&B; group Silk Produced by Keith Sweat. In 2003, Phillip was contracted as Music Director for Jazz artist and former NBA star Wayman Tisdale.
After touring the country with Wayman, Phillip has found his Genre where he is most expressive and creative. His technique in smooth jazz are demonstrated in his new release entitled "JUST BETWEEN US' under his own music label The MOJOY MUSIC Label. Available June 4th 2008 at CD baby.com.

Phillips Brooks (1835 1893) was one of the finest and most famous clergyman in the nineteenth century; he was acknowledged as a masterful preacher.
His teachings were filled with understanding, compassion, and encouragement. He spent most of his life as rector of Trinity Church, Boston, and served briefly as Episcopal bishop of Massachusetts at the end of it (1891 1893). His life was a course of gaining an increasing name as preacher and patriot. In addition to his moral stature, he was a man of great physical bearing as well, standing six feet four inches tall. During the American Civil War he upheld the cause of the North and opposed slavery, and his sermon on the death of Abraham Lincoln was an eloquent expression of the character of both men. He was asked to be the full-time chaplain at Harvard University (with whose faculty and students he maintained a close relationship to the end of his life), but he later wrote, {My only ambition} is to be a parish priest ... He died unmarried in 1893, after an episcopate of only 15 months.
His death was a major event in the history of Boston. One observer reported: They buried him like a king. Harvard students carried his body on their shoulders. All barriers of denomination were down. Roman Catholics and Unitarians felt that a great man had fallen in Israel. Brooks's understanding of individuals of other ways and thought, and of other religious traditions, gained a following across a broad segment of society,... His influence as a religious leader was unique.
